Two more songs from Gary's Christmas album are releasing tomorrow! Covers of Paul McCartney's 'Wonderful Christmastime' (that one doesn't seem to get covered that much, so will hopefully be good) and Winter Wonderland smile.gif

I wont have high hopes for the covers but hopefully they will be enjoyable. I think he will do a stripped back slow version of wonderful christmas time.

Out of two I slightly prefer winter wonderland but neither are my cuppa tea,, too jazzy for me.

These songs reprsent the style I was expecting for the album which isn't good.
I think I will be skipping purchasing the album.

I think the style was always enivitable and he loved all the working with a big band etc but that type of music never excited me by any artist and Gary wont change that.

Sorry for the delay here! Couldn’t find my password!! Great to see you all.

I’m really not sure about this Xmas album…I’m pinning my hopes on the duet with Sheridan Smith to be the Xmas belter that will sell this record. Right now, the songs are slow and very b-side standard. This duet will be the defining moment for this era. If it falls flat, there’s probably nothing else that can redeem it.

That said, hopefully it can still make top 5

Surprised that he hasn’t done any promo for this or released a big lead single

'Wonderful Christmastime' is definitely my favourite of the ones released before the album, it's a song that isn't really covered as much as some of the other classics!
