http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-41902883 The gaffe came when Boris Johnson was referring to a journalist arrested whilst on holiday in Iran. "The foreign secretary had been criticised for saying Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, in prison in Iran, had been training journalists there. A charity said the remarks could worsen her sentence. She had been in Iran on holiday when she was arrested, it said." We all know Boris Johnson, famous for his 'snobby' Eton photo with Cameron et al, is FAMOUS for gaffes, such as singing a Colonial Kipling poem ON MIC about Burma in BURMA in a HOLY SITE, but I think this gaffe is something else. He is embarrassing the UK on the world stage, even more so after Brexit has reduced the UK's UN speeches to being completely ignored, with empty halls and the few delegates left playing Tetris together. However, now he has put someone's freedom in jeopardy. I think we need him replaced very quickly. I have NO idea why he was made Foreign Secretary at all, and his constant gaffes are further cheapning the country's image and causing problems. What do you think of this situation?? 4 and a half years later - Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has finally been released and is on her way home. Some good news at last. |

Also, an aside, but I LOVE that poster's postings style!! Was it taken from an article? Reads like a Canary journalist and I am HERE FOR IT! |
