No issue with Dua she will struggle unless she can create her own identity. Without Spotify and radio support she has a small fanbase. She is no Britney, Madonna, Kylie, Beyonce, Rihanna or Gaga. She has not immersed herself with the general public due to there being nothing really special about her.

She has not immersed herself with the general public due to there being nothing really special about her.

Her fanbase has grown since Future Nostalgia. Obviously she's not a legend like those artists you mentioned and that's fine. She is embracing being "a main pop girl" and growing as a performer. She is in her own lane right now. GP associate her with funky, disco style pop music. Her voice is instantly recognizable. I think Danny L Harle said it quite well in his interview for Rolling Stone

QUOTE
As Harle sees it, Lipa is the last of a dying breed. “I think she is going to be one of the last superstars of pop music,” he asserts, pointing out how “pluralistic” culture is now because of how algorithms have changed music discovery.

“The younger generation won’t break through culture on all levels of culture. The idea of the superstar will change in the future, and Dua will be one of the final ones.

I am eager to hear the track in full as it might explain why they switched it from been the lead single to second single.

She performed part of this at the Grammys (with Houdini and DTN).

Training Season sounds great cheeseblock.png I agree, it's an interesting decision to preview it in an extremely high profile performance but not have it available for almost 2 more weeks. ohmy.gif

Even though her bundle is very reasonably priced (£6.97 for a cd, vinyl and cassette) I'm a little put off pre-ordering it because of the shipping charge. I mean normally I wouldn't think twice about that, but after Dance the Night and Houdini postage charges being free... I kind of expect to be burned by a "shipping now free!" announcement in a couple of weeks if I ordered it now. thinking.gif

The song is ludicrously catchy, I'll say that much!

Training Season sounds pretty decent to me. I do think the material is a slight step down but then Future Nostalgia was pretty much a PERFECT pop album that anyone would struggle to replicate so we're still talking really solid singles here. Houdini in particular has grown on me no end

Order a Houdini CD or Cassette at the same time... Postage vanishes (you just pay 99p for the CD or Cassette instead!)

(I only know this because I didn't already have the Houdini CD, so thought I'd see what happened when I added it... Then again, free postage may happen eventually, I just didn't wanna miss out on the vinyl!)

I tried this but unfortunately this doesn't work for me, it still keeps the shipping charge! cry.gif Thank you though wub.gif

Seemingly not! I must have got in there before they noticed... Houdini gets another sale it might have not had from me though!

Now I'm gutted I missed out on the Houdini vinyl and Dance the Night CD. I think if I had those I'd have a complete UK singles collection, not sure if any other Dua singles got a physical release (I know a couple got German CD releases, and maybe a couple of her features had a physical release too?)

Training Season is sounding great! Can't wait to hear it in full! 😍😍
