BuzzJack Music Forum _ Little Mix _ How many weeks will Shout Out To My Ex stay at #1?

Posted by: Joe. 23rd October 2016, 07:58 AM

Looking very likely to get a second week, but how long can Shout Out To My Ex dominate?

Posted by: Matt1989 23rd October 2016, 09:55 AM

Even streaming seems to be doing pretty well for them now, which has held them back a bit in the past, so that will definitely help. Plus it seems to be the norm these days for songs to hang around at Number 1 for a while so I'm confident we can at least equal Black Magic's three weeks at the top, although I think we can go one better this time and make it a month

4 weeks seems to be the average now so that seems like the most likely outcome

I was going to say 4 too, but the 5th week is the album release week which always gives a big boost on streaming and iTunes, I went with 5.

4 or 5. It's hard to tell these days as you can't foresee what may happen weeks in advance.

Scrap that, Drake just release his new single(s).

Ha - was just about to say that too!

2 weeks for Little Mix

Oh god, here we go again!

Maybe they can hold on for a few more weeks - Drake not doing that great (yet)

Posted by: awardinary 24th October 2016, 05:54 PM

I'm saying 5 weeks.

Posted by: pippa 24th October 2016, 07:32 PM

Minimum 3.

Posted by: Matt1989 24th October 2016, 10:34 PM

2 is virtually in the bag, can't see James making up the gap. With the momentum the song has I'd say 3 is very much achievable

Posted by: MrLoverboy 25th October 2016, 12:32 AM

4! Hopefully

2 weeks, Bruno Mars performing on XF on Sunday potentially ruins their 3rd week.

I can see Bruno getting a good boost but I'm not sure it'll be a straight to #1 boost...

Posted by: MrLoverboy 25th October 2016, 10:35 AM

Looks like Drake hasn't become a threat for them. 2nd week is in the bag, I think we'll definetely get a 3rd too.

Posted by: Adam92 25th October 2016, 12:31 PM

I'm gonna say 2 weeks but hopefully it can at least stay top 3 for a bit longer

Posted by: raphaelalm 25th October 2016, 02:20 PM

2 weeks, Louisa will perform on X Factor...

Posted by: shindymindy 25th October 2016, 02:46 PM

I don't think Louisa will get to number 1 officially. Maybe top 10

Posted by: Joe. 25th October 2016, 02:56 PM

These reaches, the only thing I can see overtaking them is a brand new song at this point. Or if something like Starving, Sexual or Fake Love suddenly flies up the charts.

Lousia might make top 10, best case scenario, and Bruno is low top 10, and has been out for 3 weeks, the best I can see for him is being boosted to 3/4/5 after X Factor.

I think they'll be safe for at least three weeks. I actually think James Arthur will still be their biggest threat in a few weeks to be honest.

I would agree with this. His album being out next week means he'll get a big boost on streaming and iTunes.

3rd week starting now! Anyone wants to change their original predictions?

Posted by: Joe. 28th October 2016, 02:13 PM

I do think James Arthur could put up a fight this week. He'll overtake on Spotify due to his album being out, and he's decreasing the gap on iTunes now.

Posted by: MrLoverboy 28th October 2016, 02:25 PM

Clean Bandit overtook him on iTunes though

Because his album version is climbing fast. It's gone from 55 to 27 so far. They're still about 39% ahead though.
