Some place to start... Here is the question with the lowest (or joint lowest) scoring top answer - I added this question late on with little expectation other than there didn’t seem an obvious one. Dance Monkey makes sense though, as it’s the most Shazam-ed song of all time. Points were thin on the ground elsewhere - if this were Pointless, I’d be trying to avoid this scenario as host, but here it’s rather amusing just to see what people came up with.
I don't know why my mind went to classical music in a chart forum quiz!
Good start - big range of answers there!!
I feel I should have probably gone bigger for my Q13 number haha but was hard to tell without knowing the # of participants!!
I almost went for Hoppipolla for that one which would have given me a point.

As a prelude to next year’s ‘Buzzjack’s Ultimate UK Number 4 Single’, I asked for hits from over a year ago, to get past the recency bias of the likes of Friday and Watermelon Sugar. That didn’t stop several of you choosing one from only just over a year ago, including four for someone whose current hit now resides at that very same #4 position. It shares top billing here with Little Mix’s six-week #4 and Robbie Williams’ signature song. Rihanna, whose song spent four separate weeks at #4, and some other popular female soloists also bring up a point.
Me and Lewis being very loyal Ariana AF co-mods there
Glad recency paid off here with Joel Corry.
I almost went with South of the Border (sorry Ansel) as that was the last one from 2019 but thought Joel Corry may be in people's minds as mentioned in another question!
Glad I didn't miss an obvious one for Q3! Was close to putting something like Bohemian Rhapsody just because it was the most recognisable song full stop but pulled short as it didn't really fit the brief.
I expected at least one other person to have went with ‘Hold me while you wait’ 😂 not many big Lewis Capaldi fans lol.
It was between Touch and Blank Space for me. At least I got one point.

A slightly higher top answer, but this question actually yielded fewer points than Q4. I originally considered this as a Pointless question in the last series, but thought that may be too punishing for anyone who couldn’t think of one, so I’ve thrown it in here instead. Unfortunately, that means most of the inspired answers people came up with aren’t rewarded with any points, as those of us on the same wavelength were in the minority. The top answer is very much trivia question territory - I think James Masterton mentioned it when Sorry charted, so I’d heard of it but hadn’t actually listened to it until yesterday (and if prog rock mixed with yodelling appeals to you, I’d recommend you do the same).
Never heard of that Focus song. Not too gutted then as lots of 0 pointers there.
I got a double rhyme in my song title as well haha!
Almost went with Queen - Killer Queen but would have been a zero as well!
Three of us going for the 'name a song with the same title as the artist' strategy but all going for different songs Not really kicking myself there, the only other song I could think of in the spur of the moment was Gary Moore - After the War which would have been just as fruitless.
I remembered Hocus Pocus appeared in the itunes top 10 a couple of months ago (plus I couldn't think of any other answers for that one).
That was a tough one - I could only think of Le Freak/Chic but looks like there's more than I thought!
Ah so nobody was rebellious and put Joel Corry - Sorry as their answer as I was thinking of doing!
never heard of Hocus Pocus
actually couldn't think of any until the very last minute when I came up with Rag n Bone Man - Human

I had this as a potential Pointless question, but using it here saves me the trouble of defining what constitutes a non-Christmas song, so Joni Mitchell’s River scores a point whichever way you see it. The top answer must surely be considered Blink 182’s defining song over their #2 at this point. Amongst a handful of others, Taylor and Little Mix score some of us more points.
Oh no - was torn between I Miss You and Wires!
Clearly no-one else just picked the top answer for the lyric on Genius Lyrics
It took me ages to think of something for the rhyming one then 'Da Funk' popped into my head finally, glad others put it *.*
I literally talked about 'I Miss You' in a countdown I'm doing elsewhere on the forum last week and didn't get that yay for others putting 'Move' at least.
3 top answers and a 0 pointer so far... Have a feeling it may crumble on some of the other questions!

Not sure if I correctly assumed more people would remember Sam Feldt than the Charlie and Meghan song which narrowly gets top marks here. A few other good answers about, but only three more score points: I combined the various Rihanna songs titles as I was only looking for the artist.
'Marvin Gaye' remains horrible but I had to sell out here x
Ah I was going to go with Rihanna but didn't think it fit as had "Walks Like" before the name. Should have just gone with it!! Didn't realise Yxng Bane had a song out called Rihanna.
I almost went with Marvin Gaye but thought more people would go with The Cure with it being more recent! Duh!

Another question where the correctness was open to interpretation. For once I called this right, albeit with one of my favourite songs of the decade, which I’d certainly agree has had more than its share of heavy rotation on Spotify by now. Although I can’t remember the last time I heard it on the radio, aside from that remix which Heart sometimes play, whereas I can hardly switch on that station without hearing Shape Of You. The much loved Blinding Lights brought up second place here.
Halfway through Q1-Q12, I’ve revealed the answers to:
Q3, Q4, Q6, Q7, Q9, Q10
so still to come are:
Q1, Q2, Q5, Q8, Q11, Q12
Oh how did I not think of Lewis, of course!
I did put 'Shape of You' at first but changed oops
Balls!! Was thinking Blinding Lights but a lot of people including me still really like it.
Thought Dance Monkey would pick up some points
So I have 3 x top answers and 3 x 0 points
Good to get top answers for the last two. With the results being revealed in this order, each top answer becomes more important as we go on.
I was thinking because of the whole Whamageddon thing that people might go for that - maybe if the quiz had been in December!
I'm happy I've got 3 top answers so far - I'm hoping it's all I'll need for that leaderboard win!

Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen | xajnipi
Shakira (feat. Wyclef Jean) - Hips Don't Lie | paulgilb
Moves Like Jagger got off to a slow start as it was only used once in the first 11 entries, but rallied from there. The other scorers are all with two points, ranging from the legendarily banned Relax to the, er, sublimeness of the last LadBaby offering. Of the nul pointers, I think WAP and Bruises were actually playlisted.
Bruises was a complete guess for me 😂 I’ve only really listened to radio 1 properly for the past year or so, so I didn’t have a clue for this one!
I had absolutely no idea what was and wasn't playlisted so just went with the most recent #1 which definitely wouldn't have been! Clearly Moves Like Jagger was a big one to stick in people's minds but I don't think I was even aware the charts existed when that song came out.
I rarely listen to Radio 1 now so I'm happy to scrape two points for that one.
Glad that was a decently substantial top answer!
Had no clue on that one - was hoping Gooba would pick up some points as was a Top 10 hit and wasn't even played on the chart show

Whether because of recency, impact, or being mentioned in Take Me Back To London, Stormzy stormed out of the blocks here and initially looked set to be this top answer by a clearer margin. Points were shared around as several other headliners of the last decade came up, of whom only Beyoncé was scoreless. Dolly and Kylie didn’t headline, but my "no incorrect answers" rule means the latter brings up a point.
Originally put Stormzy then changed my mind on the basis that Coldplay have headlined 3 times. Still happy with the score on that one.
Oops dropped the ball on that one, didn't even consider Stormzy - I just associate Glasto with rock and indie artists!
Yay Stormzy *.* recency definitely helped and the news coverage of him being the first black solo British artist to do so

Gold: Greatest Hits may be fast closing in on 1,000 weeks in the Top 100 album chart, but which of their songs weren’t quite gold or enough of a hit to make the cut? The top answer, and it seems an obvious one now, was their only remaining song to make even the Top 20, coming bang in the middle of a run of 15 consecutive Top 5 hits. Tellingly, its #5 peak was the lowest of this run, befitting that it perhaps wasn’t one of their more memorable hits - still, several of you remembered to choose it. Points were hard to come by elsewhere - the Mamma Mia films perhaps informed quite a few choices, and my personal favourite of this category, The Day Before You Came, earned a point, although my own answer didn’t.
We’re still in single figure top answer scores, with three of the twelve left!
Oh I dropped the ball there oops!
'Adante, Adante' stood out to me in Mamma Mia 2 from the songs I wasn't über familiar with and was in the recent Only Connect quiz
'The Day Before You Came' is one of my favourite Abba songs but I knew it wouldn't be anywhere near the top answer.
Finally another top answer after a rather dismal run!
I didn't think of just picking the highest charting single. I remember The Day Before You Came coming third in an ITV poll of favourite Abba songs so I picked it (and it's also my favourite song of theirs).

OK, how many of you expected this question to have such a convincing top answer? I was aware of the “Starbucks lovers” notoriety, but I’d never thought that line (“Got a long list of ex-lovers”) sounded like that myself, it doesn’t exactly scan. Nonetheless, only one other answer - Bohemian Rhapsody, which pops up for a third time tonight - scores as much as a point! I think I know how most of the misheard versions of these lyrics go - some real gems there.
Two of the twelve left to reveal...
Had to be Starbucks lovers *_*

The penultimate top answer to be revealed is the first to be given by the majority of entrants - anyone who put less than 14 for their answer to Q13 is now out of the running for the bonus! It’s another one I should have seen coming - I’d forgotten the Flo Rida song had as many as 9 weeks in the Top 10! It even inspired one of the funniest artist names for a fake version which also went Top 40. The other two points scorers are maybe a little more established in classic territory.
One more top answer to reveal, for Q12... but what will it be? And how much will it score??
I'd completely forgotten about Starbucks Lovers
But YESSS at getting 14 points for 'Whistle'
Oh no - I had thought of Blank Space when I initially looked at the questions then I went blank when submitting haha
Yay for Whistle though!
gotta love the Starbucks lovers <3
I don't know that Flo Rida song. I was expecting that to be between Wind Of Change and Jealous Guy by Roxy Music but I see the latter was chosen by no one.
I thought Whistle would be the top scoring answer for the whole thing. Surprised at it being #12 but hopefully it is the one I put!!
Q12. An artist / group who hasn't yet released a Greatest Hits but could easily have done

And here is the highest scoring top answer in the quiz! Seems not only is the world waiting with bated breath for new material from Rihanna, but she is also a glaring absentee from those acts who have a token compilation of their discography highlights hanging around the album charts forever and a day, thanks to the unrelated streaming of those songs! Taylor, who is perhaps too busy making new and re-versioned albums to promote a compilation right now, comes a distant second, while Coldplay and Little Mix earn their last points of a busy night for them!
This also confirms the Q13 bonus goes to the few of you who guessed that the highest score for a top answer from Q1-Q12 would be... 15 points
I flopped hard.
Oh of course, 'Whistle' glad I got Rihanna at least!
Oh no, I was going to put Rihanna for that one but thought the Fearless release would make people think of Taylor instead
That was the one I was most confident on, it had to be Rihanna. Did I put 15 points as my answer to Q13? I've got a feeling I did but can't remember now!
Ah bummer - flopped on the 2 most important questions and put 14 for the bonus!
Glad to have got the 2 top answers but really should have got the Blank Space one too!
Expecting a mid-table finish...
Q13. As a number of points, the highest score for a top answer from Q1-Q12

I can confirm the lucky winners of the bonus, with their guesses of 15 points are... Pete, Mango and West
They get 15 points added to the two they picked up for choosing the same answer as each other!
The bonus very nearly didn’t go anywhere, since Nobody guessed 16 points! Conversely, many guesses of 12 and 13 (the nominal top answers here) and 14 points were dashed as the last few results came in yesterday!
Final scores on the way!
Woohoo with the bonus
Mack putting 141
And with that 15 point bonus, the winning score of the final quiz of the series belongs to Mango!
Commiserations go to Bré, who scored the most points in the regular part of the quiz, and to dan::G, who was duelling with Dobbo for top score throughout most of the week, and then looked on course to overhaul Bré with a 14-point bonus, before the final entry gave Rihanna another point on Q12!

Thank you all for playing and negotiating some tricky FF questions - it went better than I thought it was going to! Thanks also for following and commenting along tonight for the last quiz in Series 4 - seems like there’ll be a few months break before the next one, but I’ll take this opportunity to crown the new series winner (and save him doing it himself )
So, the top 5 looks like this:
1. Mango** (257.5 points)
2. Bjork (223 points)
3. JulianT* (216.7 points)
4. jimwatts (210 points)
5. chrissmith276* (207.8 points)
Congratulations to Mango for winning the series!!
Thanks again everyone.
Happy with just scraping the Top 3rd.
As for the series I am in steady decline - 1st, 3rd, 5th....
Thanks for hosting and well done to winners!
Thanks for hosting Jim and congrats to Mango for winning this quiz and the overall title.
Was Mack playing a different game?
Thanks Jim for a really interesting quiz, and huge congratulations to Mangø for winning the series! Very well earned.
To continue a recent trend: top half, I'll take it!
Congrats Mango and thanks for this Jim!
Well done Mango for the double win! Great quiz Jim, some tough but good questions.
11th isn't too bad considering I missed a few obvious answers near the end (I really should have remembered that Starbucks lovers lyric from Blank Space! Surprised that so many went for Rihanna in the GH question though) but the rest went alright I think.
Congratulations to Mango on winning both this quiz and the series overall! A huge lead, so it's thoroughly deserved. And thanks to Jim for hosting, it was a very interesting set of questions!
Thanks Jim, I'm over the moon to have won the quiz and the series! I look forward to my widget
I do think that 15 points for the bonus question was a little excessive and unfair but obviously I'm not going to complain about it!
I'll update the leaderboard shortly.
Congratulations Mango on winning series 4 and the quiz. Thanks for hosting Jim. Oh dear, I flopped badly.
Yay, congrats to Mango! Finally your first widget *.*
Joint-5th might be my best finish of the whole series, so pleased to finish on a high. I was absolutely clueless on the ABBA question but made up for it with several top answers, luckier than usual for me.
Thanks for hosting, Jim, great round! It seemed very careful to avoid any landslide questions so I'm impressed that as many as 15 managed to think alike on a question!
Thanks for hosting, Jim!
Boo hiss at the lucky bonus question guess from Mango costing me a well earnt win!!!
This started off pretty badly with me getting 0 in the first few questions revealed but of course with the way this reveal worked it was more important to get the top answers later in the thread, which I did get most of
For the ABBA question my logic wasn't going for the highest charting song that isn't on 'Gold' (that'd be too much effort x), I just picked track 1 off 'More Gold' I've actually never even heard of the song I picked for that question ('I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do' and 'The Day Before You Came' came to mind before that) but I thought that'd probably be the smart move and I was correct.
My answer of Rihanna for the song title & artist name question was based on the Yxng Bane song btw - but good thing 'Walks Like Rihanna' exists to save me as I expect most if not all of the other people were going for that I was just pulling a mind blank on any other answers but in retrospect Marvin Gaye and especially Barbra Streisand should definitely have come to me quicker!
Also my first thought for the song with Christmas in the lyrics actually was blink-182 but I went for Taylor because of it being more recent (and I wasn't quite sure how well-known the lyrics of 'I Miss You' are on here), so that cost me a few points oops xx Good that 'Blank Space' was a top answer though, I found it a little amusing that I answered with Taylor songs 2 questions in a row when the questions had absolutely no relation to each other
always surprised at people's answer in these games, maybe its cos I'm not uk but my 1st thought is always an answer completely different from everyone else
for the Xmas song I kinda thought everyone would go with Sade-The Sweetest Taboo which has what I thought was a very famous chorus of "Every day is Christmas/every night is New Year'e eve"
for the whistle song I thought the most popular would be Don't Worry Be Happy or Young Folks, never ever thought about Derulo.
Well one thing I've learned from this quiz is Moves Like Jagger wasn't playlisted on Radio 1 wonder why that was considering it seems like the most radio-staple song of all time. Needless to say I had no idea how to search for that question.
Good finish though and pretty close with the top answer guess.
Great quiz Jim, love the rounds where there's not too many landslides (especially when I manage to get most of the few of them )
I had no idea that 'Move' mentions Christmas
No one but me even said the whistle song 🙈
Well I needed those bonus 15 points after not even thinking about Rihanna for that question, surprised it got so many! Thanks jimwatts for a great quiz and congrats on the win Mango!
