News that SM4 might not be too far away now is starting to come in after Shawn kept us ticking over in 2019 with If I Can't Have You and Señorita, and I couldn't be more excited *.*
What are you personally hoping for with Shawn's fourth album? Will it be more mature-sounding than his previous albums? Are IICHY and Señorita indicative of the style you'd like to see him stick to for the new album... or would you rather he went in a completely different direction? Discuss ~ |

People are clinging on to this idea that he’s basic and never changes up his sound as if Senorita sounds anything like Stitches. I don’t really mind what sound he goes for, Shawn is one of the only singers nowadays who I believe genuinely feels and means everything he says. His strength really lays in conveying raw, intense emotional vulnerability so something along the lines of In My Blood would be great. I think he should work to build on that, considering it earned him a Song Of The Year Grammy nomination.

Well said! I want him to keep his authenticity and make an album that represents where he's at in life currently, because it pays off in dividends on tour as well.
Senorita was pretty much the perfect collaboration, it's true to both Shawn and Camila's styles of music, so if he has any collaborations on the album, I'd love to see Shawn dip his toes into other artists' styles. |

Songs like In My Blood prove that he means what he's saying, and the lyrics have come from such a raw, vulnerable and honest place. Also agree that building on that sort of sound, or even just the honesty in the lyrics, would be a great direction for the next album. |
