Came across this promo CD which included a second version of About A Girl without the intro:

Anyone ever heard of this? I love coming across rarities like this (even if it is my least favourite lineup!)

No I haven’t!!!

Im sure I do have an About A Girl promo disc though. Will have to check when I’m back home.

I always wanted the Sweet 7 promo disc with Keisha’s vocals but at the time they were going for £200-£300 and I love Kdawg but I weren’t paying that!!

I listened to Sweet 7 earlier for the first time in ages weirdly because About A Girl was in my head for a couple of days, just wanted to see if the album was as bad as the car crash I remembered in my head.

On retrospect it's not a bad album, just completely faceless and generic, it might as well have been given to Girls Can't Catch to release instead, for all the personality it showed.

I enjoyed re-reading your review alongside listening though Phil!

Oh god that review. Yeah the album aged really quick.

Three was quaking in its boots laugh.gif

In all seriousness though, I remember thinking the album was good enough back when I bought it, but the cheap RedOne electropop style production of 2009/10 dated so quickly generally and I struggle to enjoy a lot of pop albums from that period now as they sound so hollow and basic. All of the Babes older albums sound far fresher than this does.

Three can rest easy until Sacred Three is released laugh.gif

Some of the older stuff has dated, but not as badly as Sweet 7. It was very much an 'of the moment' album.
