Jk I have good expectations for this and I'm excited at how soon she's coming back!

Posted by: Frenchie Feb 29 2020, 07:59 AM

Excited! She had such a good last era so i've got high hopes for this.

Posted by: LMLou Feb 29 2020, 08:03 AM

We really are being spoiled this year already

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Feb 29 2020, 02:06 PM

Some properly great songs to emerge from the last era, hoping for something good!

Posted by: Jack Feb 29 2020, 02:32 PM

Her last era was probably her best! Looking forward to this.

CAN'T WAIT

Posted by: Bjork Mar 1 2020, 10:37 AM

but what's the story? Is this a Lewis leftover or did he wrote it especially for Rita Ora?

Posted by: Jonjo Mar 1 2020, 11:43 AM

It was co-written by Capaldi. So it's not a "Lewis leftover". Rita wrote on it too.

Very excited for this! Please be a banger.

Posted by: Bjork Mar 1 2020, 11:52 AM

haha sure, what did she add, the commas?biggrin.gif hahaha

This was my immediate reaction too, but then I realised his songs are good when sang by anyone other than himself. tongue.gif

I... didn't think about this when it said "co-written by Capaldi".. however, I'm not sure "Rita Ora would be great for this track" is what her her label thought of when listening to Capaldi's leftovers for her. So I'm confident she's had more involvement than what you are suggesting and implying tbh.

I see the I Will Never Let You Down > Poison > Body On Me as a mini era ~

Posted by: pippa Mar 7 2020, 02:12 PM

So good to see new material coming and the third album.
I had feared there would be a massive gap between albums like with what happened after her debut.

Posted by: Jonjo Mar 13 2020, 01:08 AM

Love this. It's very similar in tempo to 'Girls' & 'Poison', I think.

So good to have her back so soon. I hope this era gets underway for her a lot quicker than her last era did!

Posted by: .MIKE. Mar 13 2020, 06:23 AM

It’s SO good.
I’m sure this is going to be a hit for her. You can absolutely tell this was written by Lewis

Posted by: Frenchie Mar 13 2020, 06:59 AM

Liking this a lot! Hopefully it will get her another top 10.

Posted by: JosephInSpace Mar 13 2020, 07:07 AM

She sounds so good! This sounds really anthemic, think it'll be big in weeks to come.

Posted by: Jordan Lee Mar 13 2020, 07:32 AM

It is very Lewis in sound.

Posted by: Bjork Mar 13 2020, 08:02 AM

^ Too much
Very disappointing, this is Rita shouting a shouty Lewis song (as opposed to singing)

Posted by: Cremey Mar 13 2020, 08:10 AM

This isn’t doing much for me after a few listens, it’s not a patch on any of the Phoenix singles.
It’s not bad but it’s far too Lewis Capaldi-esque for my liking laugh.gif
Hoping that’ll help it be a hit though!

Posted by: ElectroBoy Mar 13 2020, 09:28 AM

I'm in the disappointed camp. Its alright, but a bit meh tbh

Posted by: Rob S Mar 13 2020, 01:18 PM

Hmm might need a few more listens but its okay on first listen.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Mar 13 2020, 02:00 PM

It's not bad, but it's incredibly beige.

Posted by: JosephInSpace Mar 13 2020, 03:19 PM

I don't think it sounds like a Lewis song at all really? Obviously I know he wrote it and I could actually imagine him singing it but it's not like anything on his own album.

Posted by: Nick F1 Mar 13 2020, 06:43 PM

Tbh it kinda remainds me on Summer Love

Posted by: Jay ☆ Mar 14 2020, 12:20 PM

Great performance, she really nailed it vocally!

Posted by: Wall Mar 14 2020, 10:33 PM

This is actually a reject from his album

Posted by: slowdown73 Mar 15 2020, 04:54 PM

I don’t think her new song is as good as her recent stuff and the swearing just spoils it and is unnecessary.

There's a clean version for you then

Posted by: Jonjo Mar 15 2020, 05:26 PM

After letting it sink in, I'm not loving this. sad.gif

I think it'd work fine as the final single from an album or something (it reminds me of one of those tracks where I'd cry out for something else to be a single, but I'd be on board with it once it got the single treatment - like How Ya Doin' or Hair by Little Mix for example), but I hate that it's the first single and opens the new era up. This just lacks the usual Rita charisma and personality for me and I think they're relying TOO much on the fact it's written by Capaldi.

I don't hate or dislike it, I just know she can do (and has done) much better, especially for a first single!

Posted by: LMLou Mar 15 2020, 06:57 PM

I don't mind this much but it's not lead single worthy, it's not even as good as most of Phoenix's album tracks

Posted by: Jordan Lee Mar 15 2020, 09:47 PM

I’m liking this after repeated listens. It sounds more like a good album track than a lead single though. You can tell Lewis Capaldi was involved in the writing of this which for me isn’t a bad thing. I can see it being a medium sized hit.

Body On Me style chart run perhaps?

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Mar 16 2020, 11:44 AM

Hopefully it can go top 25 at some point.

Posted by: Addy K!ng Mar 17 2020, 04:54 PM

this is flopping big time, right?

I've just listened to it once and I don't think I want to go back...at least for now.

Posted by: dan.G Mar 17 2020, 05:16 PM

it's just about hanging on to the midweek top 50 at the moment, and will continue to drop over the course of the week.
at this point they should let it be a buzz single and give us a better song next month.

Posted by: JosephInSpace Mar 17 2020, 05:37 PM

I don't think we can write it off when it's not on R1's playlist yet (she usually gets instant support) or any notable Spotify playlists?

Posted by: J00ps Mar 17 2020, 05:43 PM

V underwhelming. Looks like her 2nd era will be a fluke from this.

Posted by: dan.G Mar 17 2020, 05:48 PM

I expect with a push it'll eventually reach the top 30 but I was expecting more from a Rita Ora comeback single.
The song's not really to my taste anyway so that's mostly why I hope they move on quickly.

I like it, it does take a few listens to get into, nowhere near the amazingness of anywhere but still good. I was never really a fan of her debut material but am enjoying her music way more since the release of Phoenix.

Posted by: Nick F1 Mar 27 2020, 03:17 PM

Such a good video, weird but really good, lifting the song competely!

Posted by: Wall Mar 27 2020, 07:34 PM

Who the f*** did she piss off at Spotify to deserve the Meghan treatment

Posted by: Jordan Lee Mar 28 2020, 02:15 AM

An interesting video.

The flys on the face and lying on the eggs part I didn’t really get

But as a visual it is strong and she looks so good too especially in the scene where she has blue hair.

I hope this helps the song begin to pick up and start to do something. The songs sounding better Everytime I hear it now. cool.gif

Number 68 in today's mids.

Posted by: LMLou Mar 30 2020, 05:38 PM

I actually really like the video, it's definitely interesting which you can't say for most pop videos these days. The song is a bit of a grower as well but I'm not too bothered it isn't the official lead single

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Mar 31 2020, 02:05 PM

I wonder when she plans to release the actual lead single.

Posted by: Jordan Lee Apr 2 2020, 01:40 AM

I hope this climbs and at least goes top 40 Ritual style.

It’s so good and the video is really out there too! She don’t deserve to flop with this when she’s had stuff like How We Do go to #1. I’ll be gutted if this misses out on a top 40 placing sad.gif

Posted by: Voodoo Apr 2 2020, 08:27 PM

It reminds me of Poison, and that's certainly not a good thing.

Next single, please. sleep.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Apr 3 2020, 06:07 PM

Not to bad its only down 6 places to 76 this week, maybe back in the top 75 next week if lucky

Posted by: George.keh Apr 6 2020, 03:25 PM

this was an awful decision as lead single

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Apr 9 2020, 06:21 PM

A complete misfire.

Posted by: Gerald Apr 10 2020, 10:08 AM

This song is so grating. The video is so bad as well. Rita and her label must thought because it was a Lewis Capaldi penned song it would be a hit, not thinking about it was actually catchy or listenable.

Really thought she found her sound when she released with Anywhere and Let You Love Me but the Phoenix album and this have been so disappointing.

Posted by: Nick F1 Apr 10 2020, 05:19 PM

88 in today's mids so should be another week top 100.

Posted by: slowdown73 Apr 15 2020, 10:58 PM

It’s started to grow on me more but still no where as good as anything from Phoenix. I’m surprised it’s bombing though. Thought it might go T40 at least. Is it getting much radio play?

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Apr 16 2020, 10:19 AM

I dont mind it either and I thought it would at least go low top 40.

Posted by: Jordan Lee Apr 16 2020, 11:58 AM

What’s up with Spotify and Rita for this song to have done particularly poorly on there.

It’s done way better on Apple Music than it has on there.

It wasn't put on Hot Hits, which you pretty much need if you're to stand any chance of getting anywhere.

#95 in UK this week.

Christ wtf is happening! This is how I’d expect a Louisa Johnson track to do not Rita!

Spotify situation is really odd though like she doesn’t usually do this bad on there and she usually gets playlist support too right?

Hopefully she’s performing this on the covid show. Tbh of all her songs it actually fits most with the current situation and it’s her most recent track. Get that sales boost pls Rita. If this misses out on top 40 when even Girls went top 20 and How We Do somehow topped the charts. It really isn’t that bad a song and it has a killer video. Rita pls cry.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Apr 18 2020, 04:02 PM

A hit the size is something Louisa can only dream of.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn Apr 18 2020, 05:00 PM

When Louisa last released a single properly, that's basically identical to how it performed. laugh.gif

They probably just need to move on from this tbh.

Posted by: Nick F1 Apr 18 2020, 05:21 PM

This remix is f***ing amazing dance.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Apr 19 2020, 12:27 AM

Sales to date are getting close to 40k

Posted by: Scene Apr 19 2020, 09:43 AM

Hopefully this bombing will make Rita's team think twice about leading a campaign with a song penned by the British male singer-songwriter of the moment. First Ed, now Lewis. sleep.gif She needs to go back to dance-pop since that's clearly what the GP want from her. She's not at risk of falling into irrelevance just yet but a couple more misfires and she may be.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Apr 19 2020, 11:19 AM

Dance pop works well for her as we saw with Phoenix so I hope the next single if the official lead single takes that route and becomes a hit to get the album of to a good start. If the new singles do well it may also help Phoenix get to 200k as think it's on about 170-175k right now

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Apr 20 2020, 07:13 PM

86 in the mids, may hang on low top 100 for a couple of weeks.

Posted by: Jonjo Apr 22 2020, 10:11 PM

Look, I don't "hate" this song, but I think it's definitely my least favourite Rita single to date... by quite some distance. A complete and utter misfire and it really does feel like a regression as opposed to progression from the 'Phoenix' era. I'm so gutted as I wasn't expecting to not be taken by a Rita (solo) single quite as much as I have with this sad.gif

Next single please, Rita. </3

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Apr 25 2020, 02:28 PM

Wuth her on times like these charity song it looks good for another rita number 1.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Apr 27 2020, 06:13 PM

How to be lonely is still hanging on in on the charts, number 86 in the mids, least it has a decent top 100 chart run.

This is a good song, just not a strong choice for lead single. I like it but it's definitely one of her weaker singles.

My thoughts exactly at this point! I hope they don't leave it too much longer before moving on - best to quickly sweep this under the rug.
