I really hope he hasn't just re-written H.E.S as thats my favourite song thats he's done in recent years, but this already sounds a million times better than Candy did when I first heard it. Quite excited!
Looking forward to this, hope he can still record good music and critically remain current.
He's released H.E.S as a single already
Really loving this album cover
He was brilliant at the Apple festival tonight.

H.E.S is sounding a bit neutral for me now, I do hope we're treated to something good for the single
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/what-to-listen-to/robbie-williams-may-dance-like-a-drunk-dad-at-a-disco-but-he-daz/
He looks incredible and I love he bought the pants back !!!
I've just realised - the Kylie duet never made the album.
.
Really looking forward to hearing the new single on the GNS this weekend
Robbie on Chris Evans this Friday so I guess that will be the first play.
I would like to see the entire video to HES. Or had it only been the sequences he shot as it is not listed as a proper single? Anyway. It worked. Has one of you an idea if it charts with itunes?
THAT'S NOT ME! Robbie Williams replaces friend Alan Carr’s voice on his comeback single
The pop star cut the comedian from the track and used a female voice instead
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/1873627/robbie-williams-replaces-friend-alan-carrs-voice-on-his-comeback-single/
Oh I get it now - the album title is a pun on "light entertainment"
I agree. Acting woul be perfect for him. I love HES. I should not look at the charts, but cannot help :-).
Is 32 good for a non-singl by an old artist?
As he has reserved stadiums already in Germany and Austria for next summer I assume that he will try a stadium tour.
I also pondered how 'party like a Russian' may sound and being judged in times of the political climate
I must say, I like HES...but Party Like a Russian is awful. Sounds like a rudebox reject. He'd be better using HES as the lead single...
https://dnj.to/2016/09/29/robbie-williams-party-like-a-russian/
Samples Dance of the Knights by Sergei Prokofiev then, like The Apprentice theme.
It's very heavily produced, sort of sounds like it could have come out in 2000 though. I don't love it or think it works in 2016 and don't think it will be a hit, not sure how this album will perform for him tbh.
These days, Robbie is usually an album artist, so I expect it will at least manage a gold certification
can't see it being a hit either. Wonder why they had chosen it
Maybe that's why he has a second single lined up soon after? I hope this isn't going to be a Rudebox-esc experimentation...
not for the album
Hmmm not sure what to make of Party Like A Russian. Sounds alright till it gets to the chorus, the sample doesn't work at all.
Know idea how this will perform, its not anywhere near as catchy as Candy. Bad Mother****** would have been a better lead single or Sensational
I don't get why he randomly samples reality TV music in the background. It is quite odd on a first listen and I prefer HES but I'm gonna give it another chance
I really like it, it's quirky .. doubt it will do well in the charts though .... then again I said the same about that awful Candy & look what happened ...
https://www.facebook.com/robbiewilliams/
Official video
I like it but its just another pop song. I think its better than Candy. Its catchy with funny lyrics i just wish he would do a more rockier album instead of trying to be like a young hipster.. ill get on board though
After a few more listens its grown on me quite a lot. I can see this being a slow burning hit with it gradually becoming popular.

Looking forward to hearing it live tonight on GN
Love the video ...
That story on Graham Norton though.....
Party Like A Russian sounded great live.
PLAR is 28 on ITunes and HES is 46. I don't it won't mean anything because of streaming but nice to see two tracks within the top 50
Liked the live performance on GN
Other than that he needs a filter for his gob
Well, now the song is #3 on iTunes here.
Since 2002 year his profile hasn't been so high in Russia, at least for yesterday!
He was on news TV channels and not for 30 seconds: from 1 to 5 minutes per plot.
A lot of people who don't know English asked Djs on radio if Robbie attacks Russia or not.
So a lot of conversations in media and in society.
50% people enjoy the song, 50% use bad words.
'Party Like a Russian' is absolutely horrific. Video's pretty good though.
http://trib.al/egDi1C0
First positive review from NME since 1998
He has achieved what he wanted. For all those who do not follow him that close;y as the fans he had not done two huge tours but was away especially in Britain. This song made people speak about him no matter if good or bad and Russia is a perspective rour destination too.
The next song he will publish - and that is the reason he publishes it so fast after PLAR in my opinion - will be the important pleaser for anyone.
So out of the tracks that we have heard so far what is everyones favourite?
Heavy Entertainment Show
Party Like A Russian
Motherf***er
Sensational
So by the time the album comes out on 4th November Robbie will have released three singles and presumably the one he will sing on XF (if he gets a spot) will be the ballad that's out 21st October?
That's a different strategy to before isn't it.
PLAR is amazing, HES is good too. I find it interesting the he had a song called H.E.S. and now an album called Heavy Entertainment Show. Both HES songs are good though.
Just listening to the live version of Motherf***er now, it is pretty good
Huge amount of comments from Russian folk on YT about the video, no idea what they are saying but Robbie sure grabbed their attention
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdYGQ7B0Vew
Do we know if PLAR will chart this week? The streaming thing always baffles me...
He's #23 on iTunes and not top 200 on Spotify, so I imagine if he hangs on he will chart at number 88 or something officially
I have not expected different, but i am sure he will do good with the album and he will sell well for thr tour. As far as I saw in the official charts even Niall Horan only made it to the top 100 on place 100 and he is from 1D.
Can someone explain to me how this streaming counting works? Do they have to pay for streaming? I have no idea :-)
Apart of that I am and the fact that I am not that a huge fan of PLAR I like the marketing strategy of Sony.
yes. and Robbies 4h hours, but Robbie is a yesteryeared dinosaur who is not one of the top acts of the most successful boybands ever. I thnk Niall will climb, nevertheless top artists like Buble, Gaga, Murs are also charting nit as years ago. However, I don't think that Robbie will have a no 1 spot anytime soon anymore with singles. I am almost sure though that the album will chart very well
It's not just Robbie, the streaming thing has hit all similar artists. The top 20 rarely changes much these days because of it. But Robbie doesn't help himself by releasing a very marmite song. I wonder if he'll do a medley of HES, PLAR and the next single on XF...
Yes - it's an age thing. I don't think there's anything he can do about it. Just use the singles as promo for the album and see how that does.
I listened to HES and PLAR today and I still think they made the right choice of single out of the two. He wanted to be bold and he has been. I love both songs and hope the album is represented by these two.
On XF (if he's on) I'm expecting him to perform the second single that's out on Oct 21st. Then two weeks later the album is out.
He's fighting for his place amongst the youngsters and I admire that. You always know he's going to try his hardest.
I think landing PLAR as the lead off single was a good decision on Robbie's part , look at the comments on YT . 90% of them are from the Russian community & I think that is where his focus is this time around when it comes to his tour next year. Touring is where the bib bucks are for an artist like Robbie who is getting older, he certainly is not going to appeal to young people when it comes to buying his albums or singles . He did a lot of weddings in the past couple of years so I'm guessing it was part of a long term plan.
Some info on the actual PLAR video .
I like the video , it reminds somewhat of the video that he did for Sexed Up

4.5K comments ... a lot of talking & giving out I think
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MdYGQ7B0Vew
I had both HES and PLAR on repeat in my car this morning - I'm really enjoying both. I can't really pick between the two. They're both excellent tracks and I hope the whole of the album is in the same "big/bold" vein.
Interesting that the video to PLAR is number one on the Itunes video chart and yet no one is buying the download. What sort of correlation is that?
I really don't understand the charts anymore. Pleased to see the video do so well though. It is brilliant.
Maybe not everybody knows that there is a collaboration between The Killers and Robbie at the album.
This song called Mixed Signals. Track number 3.
Need to say there is a strong connection between Brandon and Robbie since summer...actually since Avicii's The Days...actually since 2009 when Rob named Human his recent fave song...actually since Live 8 in 2005 where Rob sang a few lines of All These Things That I've Done.
Well, Brandon used the same jacket (as Robbie in the clip) at The Killers concert last Friday. Both good lads!
Yeah, I have already sent a Twit to him and Robbie
BTW, Mixed Signals has written by The Killers guys only. Without Rob.
Now it's time to go to bed but tomorrow I want to check one thing...
If I'm not wrong that's the first song in Robbie's discography where he does not appear as co-author (I exclude Swing albums).
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3822448/Disaster-Robbie-Williams-new-single-Party-Like-Russian-limps-midweek-chart-number-53.html
In overall terms I would hardly call it a disaster... PLAR was put out for a reason & I think it was to do with marketing Robbie in Russia , nowhere else , he did do a lot of weddings there in recent years & what better way to introduce oneself than people having to ask themselves if he is insulting them or not !! , he certainly grabbed their attention ..
Party Like a Russian
October 04, 2016
So welcome to my second blog post! This week has been really exciting as we have unleashed unto the world, a new single - Party Like a Russian. It's been fascinating to see it's progress, making it onto the news in Russia and creating loads of energy on YouTube with lots of Russian comments. I have to admit I was a little nervous about this song going public but it seems to be getting a lot of attention and that isn't easy in this media saturated world! Our gig at the Roundhouse was a joy and we have been rehearsing for a little acoustic show which has been a completely different challenge - Party Like a Russian acoustic is a musical rub cube. We got the inspiration for the title from wandering around Red Square in Moscow, feeling the ghosts of all it's history. We were playing an oligarch's party that night and I was thinking it would be fun to write something Russian influenced and fun (but also a little scary at the same time).
Stay tuned!

He seems to thrive in this kind of situation - nothing seems to phase him.

I gave up on this one, it was confusing and nervy. I am getting old :-)
Single in at sixty something. Such a shame but I'm not surprised. I haven't heard it once on the radio It's a shame the millions of video watches don't count for something.

Mixed Signals, Love My Life and Hotel Crazy don't sound good.
Motherf***er, David's Song, I Don't Want To Hurt You and Marry Me sound ok
Bruce Lee, Pretty Woman, Sensational, What You Know, Time On Earth, I Don't Want To Hurt You and Sensitive sound promising.
Party Like A Russian and Heavy Entertainment Show both grew on me a lot after listening to them so my opinions may change.
Realy like the snippets, especially on Itunes.
Here it is:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4xgfmy_preview-rw_music
This record has a really good mood and this part of album reminds me SingWYW but regarding styles they are different albums, of course.
It shoud be very various record, well done Rob.
Mixed Signals is Robbie's AOR, remind me Journey
Hotel Crazy is a very interesting and unusual men duet.
Sensational has my favourite bit, I like the album's version sounds like live version.
Need to stop before the while album
Heres my thoughts so far
HES -good opener for album and maybe tour
Party like a russian -catchy but . . .
Mixed signals(you can tell its a Killers song)-good
Love my life -sounds like a hit
Motherf***er- brill sounds like early robbie
Bruce lee -i like it sounds a mix between muse and kasabian
Sensitive- least fave so far sounds abit like Lovelight
Davids song- nice song for his friend i like it
Pretty woman- catchy again
Hotel crazy- its ok sounds like it swings
Sensational- great way to finish the album and probably the concerts
BONUS
When you know-really like so far should be on album for me.
Time on earth-another good one sounds 80s could be on album
I dont want to hurt you- good
Best intentions-good
Marry me- really good
Really looking forward to this album its sounding awesome.
Favourites so far
Love my life
Motherf***er
Bruce lee (outsiders chance for a 3rd single?)
Davids song
Sensational
When you know
Time on earth
Marry Me jumped out on first listen. It's very beautiful.
Like BM said - Bruce Lee sounds very Scissor Sisters and I can hear Roxy Music Let's Stick together. I especially like Sensitive and David's song. Love My Life seems a good choice for the next single.
I like the sound of nearly all the tracks - looking forward to hearing them in full.
I think the album sounds fresh, not over produced like Take The Crown - I can hear Robbie's lyrics and Guy's deft touch. Quite an eclectic mix of songs, Robbie's voice sounds different on every track which I like.
I think it's going to do well.
I like the different sounds. It is not boring at all. Has someone an idea which the John Grant song is? Hotel carzy must be the Rufus Wainright cooperation
Motherf***er ( Like )
Bruce lee ( really like )
Davids song ( really like )
Sensational ( like )
Mixed Signals ( ok )
Love my Life ( like )
Party Like a Russian ( really like )
Bruce Lee ( love )

Time on earth ( really like )
I don't want to hurt you ( really like )
Best Intentions ( really nice )

Really interesting interview from Italy.
Good direct questions and equally direct, honest answers.
Makes a change from the same old questions that usually come up.
On a shallow note - he looks gorgeous too.

Not sure about Love My Life as second single , it's middle of the road for me if I'm honest.
Looking forward to hearing this live hopefully next year https://youtu.be/y9AoQNGPiVc

STRANGE BREW
AMBITIOUS BUT WONKY 11TH FROM THE SOMETIME TAKE THAT MAN
ROBBIE WILLIAMS
HEAVY ENTERTAINMENT SHOW
COLUMBIA/SONY MUSIC
Now best known as an occasional member of Gary Barlow’s Take That, Robbie Williams enjoyed a thriving career in the post-Britpop era, propelled by his massive hit Angels. He was, with his deliberate insider/outsider relationship to his pop fame, the Lily Allen of his day. Now, after albums of standards and tours with Take That, Williams releases his 11th studio solo album.
Heavy Entertainment Show sees him reunited with songwriter Guy Chambers and features contributions from John Grant, Brandon Flowers and others. Musically, it’s a step away from the fanboy eclectics of, say, Rock DJ (updated Ian Dury) and Rudebox (Pet Shop Boys), returning partly to the ‘90s on Love My Life and the ballad David’s Song, but also ranging from the odd, Shirley Bassey-sings-Divine Comedy opener of the title track and the PSB-ish Party Like A Russian to the Scissor Sisters-doing-Don’t Bring Me Down of Bruce Lee (ironically without the “Bruce!”). There’s a grunty Pretty Woman (not that one) and a duet on Hotel Crazy with Rufus Wainwright, which contains the wronged-up line, “I’m a Big Mac short of a Happy Meal.”
It’s a sometimes peculiar, uneven set, lacking a big set-piece and letting the knowing lyrics pull much of the weight. At its best, it’s funny and genuinely strange: at its worst it flops the damp weariness of Gary Barlow’s Take That over Williams’ archer past like a wet saddle. The desire to do something different is admirable, but the results are unfocused, like a collection of B-sides to singles that never existed. ***
David Quantick
Listen To: David’s Song, Live My Life
I'm liking the fact that its something different. The snippets led me to believe it was quite eclectic and it seems to be so.
http://www.qawiki.org/q/how-would-you-rate-review-robbie-williams-s-new-album-the-heavy-entertainment-show
everyone is up to his own with his/her opinion. And every judgement of a single song can be different. I doubt though that this will be the last album if the single is not successful. Then it may be the last album of Gaga or buble either. Established acts may have a chance still of single luck, but it is small.
The album it is. I also doubt that Robbie has not the enthusiasm anymore he once had. I agree though that these days songs are more of a work than of a feel like they had been in his earlier difficult years. This does not necessarily mean the songs are worse.

The new songs are AMAZING! Can't wait to see him again in Sweden next year!❤️@robbiewilliams @ILIKERADIO #
In Sweden today. Finland tomorrow I think.
I actually like it now that I have heard it in full
Really good chorus
I really like Love My Life. Had a feeling it would be good! PLAR is catchy and got peoples attention but this is better. In my opinion his best songs are the ones where he lets it all out. Nice one Robbie👍
I love LML! Great song and very strong lyrics. So much better than the awful PLAR.
I really like Love My Life but I will always love my Robbie a bit more eccentric and wonky.
Great performance of PLAR from Copenhagen tonight. He's giving it some welly.
It's the bottom video. It's the best I could do with the link.
http://underholdning.tv2.dk/2016-10-21-robbie-willams-er-i-bygningen
I'm guessing an XF performance next Sunday of Love My Life on the live show?
I think so, Laura Thank you for a link, it was a relax performance
Also he will perform Party Like a Russian on Late Late Show in Ireland next week
Has the official video of LML been released yet , I cannot find it anywhere or when is the release date
I see Steve Mcfadden aka Phil Mitchell off Eastenders has co-writer credits to Marry Me?
The video was only shot shortly ago, maybe it had to be cut still.
I listened to teh Heart interview this morning. Rob said that he will do promo until March next year and that the tour will be about a year. So maybe he will do South America this time
Although I don't think he was speaking literally on that Heart FM interview. To me it sounded more like a general comment.
I do think the tour will be big but if it's stadiums, then I'm guessing one per country or something, starting in May/ June in Europe and ending in December as per norm in Australia/NZ.
I'm also guessing he will do a gig or two in South America this time too. I hope so. They've waited ten years!!
They need to get the video out for Love My Life.
I noticed PLAR is nearly up to 7m views on Youtube, so if they can get the new one out quick and he does do XF next week, then it will all help.
He was in Finland tonight apparently. Ten out of ten for his promo. They're working him hard. He's been to that many countries - it must all be a bit of a blur. If the album isn't a success, it won't be for lack of trying.
everywhere he goes he leaves at least an impression he is indeed a live artist who must sing his songs in front of a public.
PLAR... looks like it's going to be the next party song in Russia https://youtu.be/ayflFXe8bBQ

Why should Robbie have been fussed about those 2 interviewers being in the buff? After all, back in his TT days, Robbie himself did photo shoots in nothing more than a man-thong....

Looking forward to hearing I Don't Want To Hurt You , Time on Earth. Marry Me , Best Intentions & Hotel Crazy
The clips of all the songs sound amazing. Pre-ordered the Deluxe edition which has 5 more tracks.

Robbie Williams: I should be like Ed Sheeran

This negativity in every interview. It's worse this time than normal isn't it? He needs to stop it. It seems to be messing up his head so much.
Deleted - I'm repeating myself
On a positive - I heard Love My Life played on both Heart London and Magic today.
Does he think that putting himself down get him attention? Mercy buyers? This is bad.
Doeshe feel like that? Than it is even worse. He was in Holland yesterday and he is so good and everyone loves him.
HES already got a golden disc before it is even available.
I think that the critics will not be kind with the album though.
It is too different based on what I heard than to the usual. But I hope people will buy it. GH is doing amazing :-) ???!!
He needs to slow down a bit & stop worrying about what other people are doing, all this hectic promo that he is doing is crazy , I know he has a tour to sell but he will have himself burned out even before he tarts & that is both mentally & physically.
He is not going to like that review , I think Robbie is trying to find what he had with Guy ( writing wise ) when they first started out but that's not always possible , they still write some really good songs but not sure those songs will appeal to this place & time, Radio stations etc have moved on, they are looking for what appeals to a younger audience when it comes to airplay & what attracts listenership. I like the what I have heard of the record , some of the songs will sound great in stadiums sung live . Robbie needs to stop comparing himself to Ed Sheeran etc who is relatively new in comparison to Robbie , he needs to keep doing his own thing & forget about the rest otherwise he will drive himself crazy & everyone around him

I absolutely adore what I have already listened.
This album has a very rich sounding, I hear a big mix of different instruments.
Maybe Bruce Lee is one of the best examples of this mix: saxophone, drums, trumpets, electro guitar, tubular bells, kettle drum, etc.
Great record.
Well it's out.
I won't be listening properly until tomorrow night.
Let's see what the week brings him.
The begining is fine.
That's always funny with him: it looks like there is no such country as USA at all

Robbie Williams' new album The Heavy Entertainment Show review: Is it any good, then ?
http://www.digitalspy.com/music/album-reviews/review/a813129/robbie-williams-new-album-the-heavy-entertainment-show-review/
Robbie Williams is that "Heavy Entertainment Show," his new album? Critical!
D-Day for Robbie Williams! After months of discretion, the British rockstar is back in top form with "Heavy Entertainment Show," a new pop album in both traditional and bold. Our critique!
Robbie Williams was waiting. Busy playing jazzy crooners from "Swing Both Ways" (2013), the British icon seemed to have forgotten that she was able to engulf the crowds with screaming guitars, a good dose of self-mockery and a charisma foolproof. Do not panic, the wisp is back and in fine form on "Heavy Entertainment Show" , a 11th album where he lets speak with arrogance and panache, his sense of excess. If the self-titled debut extracted , washed down intoxicating vocals, brass and a hint of Serge Gainsbourg , mixed pop and strong taste for the big bands of the 30s, "Party Like A Russian" brings back the showman in him . Robbie Williams has understood: for fun, you have fun! It therefore slips into the skin of a Russian oligarch in his controversial clip, which has drawn the ire of Moscow, the former leader of Take That are paying in passing the luxury sampler composer Sergei Prokofiev and his ballet "Romeo and Juliet" ... Unpredictable. A word that describes perfectly this new vintage. Watch the clip "Party Like A Russian" Robbie Williams:
image: http://www.chartsinfrance.net/style/commun/puces/6.gif
Engine ... Action!
Throughout these 11 tracks, 16 on the deluxe version, Robbie Williams proves more than his singing talents: we are faced with an actor at heart, able to slip into roles sometimes poles apart. Our favorite is of course one of the nonchalant rockstar, with a boundless energy that surrounded cabotine devastating guitars "Bruce Lee". On this electric piece, straight out of Texas , his voice plays in the hills and reminiscent of Matthew Bellamy on "Supermassive Black Hole". More in line with his eccentric character again, the fifth track is a profession of faith. " I'm a bad motherf***er ," he insists frankly, loop, and the memory horns imp he sported during his last tour proves it. The bad boy turns into seductive - in this register, Robbie Williams is also at ease - of "Pretty Woman", clear tube writing Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco. " Why do not you shake what you've been Given from your momma? " He asks, ready to succumb to temptation in a scraped strings festival.
Rest assured: pop ballads, he is one of the proud bearers from "Angels" are waiting for you. Broken exercise, Robbie Williams excels when it adopts the tone of confession. "Love My Life" , on which he says mischievously, " I am beautiful, I am free, I am powerful ," is a beautiful testament for her two children. Before "Marry Me" tenderly devoted to his wife Ayda Field, Robbie takes the time to honor the memory of his former manager David Enthoven, who died of cancer during the summer, through a poignant title piano named "David's Song. " One of the most sincere moments of the disc, the fruit of his reunion with Guy Chambers, the producer of his greatest hits ( "Feel," "Supreme", "Angels" ...).
Amazing and daring attempts
But at 42, Robbie Williams does not just highlight the old recipes. And creative player, the singer offers intriguing risk taking including working with Stuart Price, creator of the excellent "confessions on a dance floor" (2005) Madonna . Besides "Bruce Lee", already mentioned, the two artists breathe a key electro-funk amazingly successful in "Sensitive", whose low bouncing sounds like a clarion call to wiggle. Psychedelic desire, the well-named "Crazy Hotel" is a curious jingle shared with Rufus Wainwright whose languor hypnotizes. As for "When You Know", one of the bonus tracks, it leads Robbie Williams in its Asian sounds. With both hands applauded this desire to renew!

When You Know
I really like these lyrics , lovely song
Play "Time On Earth"
"Time On Earth"
What's behind your eyes makes you a star
I want to take my time on earth and give it meaning
They say you get what you deserve, I know the feeling
[?] only get you so far
What's behind your eyes makes you a star
I'm gonna walk onto that stage like it's my destiny
Stand and tell the truth, make no apologies
If tomorrow I should die, these are my memories
I'm gonna take this simple life and make history
I dream a fantasy and then achieve it
Repeat the greatest lie till they believe it
You and me, not gods, define us now
You come here screaming, leave in silence
Oh, I'm gonna walk onto that stage like it's my destiny
Stand and tell the truth, make no apologies
If tomorrow I should die, these are my memories
I'm gonna take this simple life and make history
Let's fly higher than the mocking birds
They won't touch us way up here
In the sole asylum of the universe
A man can disappear
Raise a glass to the dysfunctional
It's never ever too late
I fell like miracles are happening
If I could just get out the way
I want to take my time on earth
And give it meaning
They say you get what you deserve
I know the feeling, feeling, feeling
You've gotta walk onto that stage like it's your destiny
Stand and tell the truth, make no apologies
If tomorrow you should die, these are your memories
You've gotta take this simple life and make history

i love the album. totally unexpected after that dreadful first single: Party like a Russian.
The album is vintage robbie with some spices of rudebox and previous albums.
such a great return of my king.
On my very first listen. David's song is very beautiful. I really like it.
Mixed signals is brilliant too.
So I'm really loving Hotel Crazy. "I present myself as a normal dude, look you in the eye when I talk to you"
I think it could have easily fitted onto SBW.
I love Marry Me - that might be my favourite. It's beautiful just like Bullet on UTR.
Also love David's Song, Mixed Signals, Sensitive
I think it's as good as UTR and better than TTC and RKTV for me.
It doesn't feel fragmented to me like the reviews said but maybe that's because Robbie's albums are always very mixed in styles. I think this could do really well for him.
Oh and I can hear Guy's expertise all over it.
Really liking this album especially
Mixed signals
Love my life
Motherf***er
Bruce Lee
Davids song
Hotel crazy (didnt think i would really like it as much as i do!)
And all the bonus tracks could easily be on the standard album because they are brilliant.
I Don't Want to Hurt You has that Latino feel about it , I like it, Roobie's voice sounds lovely on that record
Some really nice songs overall on the album
Robbie Williams – The Heavy Entertainment Show review: ‘he’s still got it’
This raucous and brash eleventh album proves Robbie’s still a prime entertainer
http://www.standard.co.uk/stayingin/music/robbie-williams-the-heavy-entertainment-show-review-he-s-still-got-it-a3387046.html
I giggled at the writing credits on PLAR
"Written by Robert Williams, Guy Chambers and Sergei Prokofiev".
I'm expecting to see Beethoven get a credit on one of the other tracks.
I like Hotel Craxy and teh John Grant Collaboration. David's song makes me tear up. The only ones I do not like that much so far is Sensitive and Bruce Lee.
All in all a great album
I Don't Want to Hurt You is my favourite on the album

Is Robbie Williams past his sell-by date ? – review
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/music/what-to-listen-to/robbie-williams-the-heavy-entertainment-show-review/
I am loving Time On Earth & I Don't Want To Hurt You... both beautiful songs
I think Time On Earth should have been the second single, great song
From the charts thread:
Albums
1 Robbie Williams - The Heavy Entertainment Show 59,825 *
2 Michael Ball & Alfie Boe - Together 36,112 *
3 Michael Bublé - Nobody But Me 21,397
4 Elvis Presley - The Wonder of You 21,275
5 Bon Jovi - This House is Not for Sale 19,061 *
Starting to look good for that twelth number one!!
Have a mixed view of the album whilst I generally like it overall, its not as good as his classic first five albums, but better than Take The Crown which I think was a good album plagued with poor single choices.
Pretty woman is an absolute corker, how an earth this wasn't the lead single i'll never know as it could have had a chance at no.1. Also really like Hotel Crazy, especially the film quotes, "the only thing they should be checking out, is my ass" almost spat my tea out the first time I heard it.

Thought this was a good summary:
"It's very easy to work out Williams' enduring, massive success from spending a little time with him. He's beyond charming, hugely talented, strikingly handsome but slightly broken and a little dangerous, meaning people fancy him, want to be like him, idolise his music, or want to fix him, possibly all four at the same time. And there's little sign of that changing."
Yes to all this
Yeah !!. Tickets got for Dublin....

Italian radio from today or yesterday I'm not sure.
It's very frenetic but he's as charming as always.
I wonder why they keft this so late to launch , were they worried it might not chart well & affect ticket sales for his tour
It's all timing these days ..

Good to hear Laura ...
He's so good at promoting his music live - Love My Life up to 4 on ITunes.
It was good at the gig explaining what the song was about. "for your babies and mine"
Album at 7 this week. 30k sales
Album did well this week. Number 6, 43K sold. Think he must be almost at 200K now.
Not bad at all.
They've cancelled the two Polish gigs. RW said himself the promoters were overly optimistic with gigs in six Eastern European countries so ticket sales in Poland suffered. So, they've pulled it.
I admire his honesty. I'm not sure many artists would tell the truth in this situation. No bullshit from that man.
The cancelled both gigs? There is a lot of fear between fans that more gigs will be cancalled. The German ones have almost sold out, Austria, Italy Netherlands all sell well. But I guess he or the promotor thought that there ismore money between the peoplein Eastern Europe. I wonder how the Russian gigs are doing.
I wish him so much luck.
As you say Laura, whowould be so honest.
He is always honest , he always keeps his businessman hat on at all times , I guess that has been part of his success
I often wonder is that the reason he does not go to South America, it costs a lot of money to put on a tour & heas has to make monet out of it after everyone else has been paid otherwise what's the point
@They've cancelled the two Polish gigs.@
There was only 1 concert in Warsaw )
I wonder if the bad sales are related to the cost of the tickets as well .
It is difficult to tell as we do not really know how tickets sold. The usual countries he visited are selling well. The UK is not selling like in the past, but he is up against TT selling tickets before foralmost teh same time and the fan base is similar. Many can only afford one ticket. Plus, ticket prizes and thepopularity which is not that huge anymore as yearas ago with a new ticket and record buying public and his fan base definitely not in the age of stadiums anymore.
In the countries of Eastern Europe the ticket pricesmight indeed be too high. However, it still takes months until the gig and I reiterate this, even en vogue stars like Beyonce and Rihanna and old stars like Madonna have difficulties to sell tickets and play in front of empty stadiums.
The only sure bank there is Coldplay and U2
I guess they're being pretty ambitious. He'll be OK.
Album number six again this week. Another 53K sold.
Love My Life still ten on ITunes.
All good.
HES sold well
http://www.mediatraffic.de/
2016 sales charts
Another 26K sold last week so he's up to 290K now.
'Love My Life' has reached a new peak of #22 in the chart today! So got a full play for the first time.
I have seen an interview he did for Chile saying he wouldlike to come back.
Maybe South America is still on the cards?
He's performing in San Remo tomorrow night apparently and his back's buggered.
I was looking at the tour dates yesterday & realised that Robbie has about five shows in the UK before he comes to Dublin which is great as we usually get the show with all the first night glitches so delighted this time around
Tour dates can be found here
http://www.robbiewilliams.com/tour/heavy-entertainment-show-tour-0
Is there not a singles discussion thread? Can't find any discussion about Mixed Signals, which I think is even better than Love My Life and one of the best singles he's released for years! Shame it's not going much chart-wise, does anyone know if there's much more promotion planned for it?
Was hoping for a better boost from the Brits than this
Midweeks -
#42 Heavy Entertainment Show
#83 Greatest Hits
No , we do not have a thread for single discussions thread, we would usually discuss under the relevant album thread but I think the single kinda passed us by , I like the song but I think it went un-noticed at the Brits
The album did well enough overall which is hard when you are an older artist & have been around for ages !!
it sold almost 400000 in the UK only, gold in NL, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and germany
but Ant and Dec was recorded last year :-(.
I read the number, Laura, can't remember where. it was not exactly 400,000 but aroung 385,000 if I remember it correctly and I was suprised as it was only in the UK.
BM? Do you have the UK and Total figures?
No, it's less for UK
Now it's 322k in UK.
Totally is 650k.
In recent years (since GH 2010) Robbie usually has the rest World sales equal to UK sales. Well, the trend continues.
there seem to be different endings to come
Mixed Signals #148 on iTunes
It is a shame. Excellent performance on SNT tonight. I really do like this song.
Currently 64 on ITunes so it's had a little boost.
It was a really good performance on A & D , sounded brilliant
Mixed Signal's is 62 on iTunes - I love the song and feels as though it's ideal for radio and boosting the album.
& some of them 20 yrs & more younger than him . He is brave to be doing stadiums this Summer, what I am noticing these days is that people have way more options when it comes to live music .I think that is why Robbie has slotted in a few festivals along the way , it's a different market We have live music in this city every weekend & they sell really well & are not too expensive . the cost of going to a show in a stadium in Dublin costs a fortune , crazy prices for hotels etc & not affordable for most folk
http://kworb.net/itunes/artist/robbiewilliams.html
He's been nominated for another Echo award.
up against Drake/Shaun Mendes/Leonard Cohen/Rag n Bone Man.
has he got any chance of winning Better Man?
http://www.echopop.de/pop-startseite/
Rag n Bone Man is becoming very popular, he is presently trying to launch himself in the US
Who votes in this thing
The TT album is selling really well.
While I was reading about their sales success today, I saw The Heavy Entertainment Show is still number 38 in the UK charts. That's not bad for nearly five months is it? I had no idea.
I had the pleasure of speaking to Betterman on RW.Com. He said it's in with a chance of beating Intensive Care as his longest charting album in the UK Top 100 (29 weeks). Obviously the sales are no where near IC levels but it's still some measure of longevity isn't it.
That is good to hear Laura, I am not a great one for following the album sales these days so have not been keeping up to date . I wonder how Mixed Signals has done so far , I like that song ,
Laura where can you still chat on RW com? I am helpless there. It will be interesting to see how the TT album keeps selling in the UK at least and that it sells without hit single, just like in Rob's case.
Love my life is still regularly on the radio.
I wonder how much HES has sold in total around the world? I wonder if Rob will do Australia next year?
Are you a member of Upfront Elisabeth, that is where you see all the chat. He is talking about incorporating some of his old songs in his next tour as they went down very well with the crowd when he did the London gig last year. I would absolutely love to hear the whole of Phoenix From The Flames live so Laura if you are on chat again could you ask him about it I find that song so uplifting
Yes, I am a member of upfront Laura, I only never chat. An seldom go there. Do I find this in the news section?
Hi all
Yes, after RWAP forum I will be hear more often so let's continue our talks.
Thank you Laura. Great to see you here more often then BM. Always a pleasure. With RWAP and TRWS gone there is not much place left for old fashioned exchange of information. I am in various RW and TT (because of Rob) groups on FB. But almost any of them are very closed circles of 'leaders' with a certain opiion you better share. Plus, you can not have a discussion or a question answered like with you doing it BM. It would be great if Monica and Viking would join here :-). Thanks Syd that you told me about this when TRWS closed.
chart data @chartdata · 10h10 hours ago
WW sales*: @robbiewilliams, The Heavy Entertainment Show 3,000 (706,000 total).
Rehearsals for tour will begin fairly soon I would be thinking , first gig June 2nd.
Delighted tour is starting this time in UK , Dublin usually got the first night glitches
there are those who sell immense like Adele, Ed and few others. For anyone else it is a struggle. Even current artists as Drake sold only around 12,000 copies in the UK last week, oldies like TT 130,000 in the UK and not even 50,000 WW.
In this context old rob is doing pretty good...though i would like him sell millions
1 Ed Sheeran [÷] 62,108
2 Kendrick Lamar 31,543
3 Rag'N'Bone Man 22,100
4 Drake 12,275
5 Take That 7,911
6 The Chainsmokers 7,741
7 Motion Picture Cast Recording [Moana] 7,032
8 Ed Sheeran [x] 6,871
9 Tinie Tempah 5,863
10 Little Mix 5,845
I just copied this from the chart thread. These are the total album sales last week Tess.
There's no fun in those numbers is there? In the old days when groups sold hundreds of thousands every week. It kind of meant more. Now sales are all over before they've even begun.
No wonder everybody just concentrates on tours now. These artists must make bugger all from album sales.
It does make you wonder why artists even bother with promo. It hardly seems worth the effort for a few thousand sales. Surely they would do better doing a live pod cast?
I could see RW doing something like that. Live chat then perform a few songs on Facebook or Twitter or even on RW.com. Wouldn't that sell just as many as an appearance on Graham Norton for example?
I think TV promo nowadays could be totally wasted.
....Except that I've just noticed we've already got a HES Tour thread
I am not sure if he is doing the Aussie Tour, however, there is still the Kylie single and the book to come. I wonder what will be next, if he will take a time out after the tour or if he will do something else.
What happened to the Helena Bonham Carter thing? I am so used to something going on in Robbie world, I would miss him
I also almost 100% believe Aussie tour will come.
Considering this era since last spring (during recordings, etc) almost all what was announced or was mentioned by Rob happens at one point.
So I think Sony + Robbie do a great work with THES, that's what I call the teamwork.
So, Vaughan Arnell directed already 16th Rob's clip! And it's perfect again, especially the ending
and French bonus
I LOVE this video for HES!
Like all his videos it's inventive, clever, witty, well acted - brilliant.

I really love it. Both the PLAR video and this one are really strong. However many of them he makes, he never loses his inventiveness (except for that bloody awful Morning Sun one that that I reckon cost one and six).

I think this album was a bit of a weaker effort overall but there were lots of songs I enjoyed like Party Like A Russian, Motherf***er, Mixed Signals and Heavy Entertainment Show.
My favourites were the two swing songs at the end.
I re-listened to some of these songs today and they were sounding so good
It is incredible how he has been bringing out such amazing albums for twenty years.
has the tocket sale for South America already started?
I have not heard Elisabeth...
one venue is 17000 I saw
Hey, I have a question about the Motherf***er lyrics. So the chorus is
I wasn't expecting that explanation
That's brilliant isn't it.
A fan's done that.
Love the song too.
Reading Twitter - Santiago is four hours behind UK. Twenty minutes until the show starts.
Rudebox & Kids - Chile
This is nice. Love this song.
Seems to have hit the ground running.
I love the lyrics of the The National Anthem of Robbie , there's a lot of truth in it

The South American leg of the tour seems to go down well. I am happy that his fans can see him again after such a long time.
The gig in Argentina has been cancelled due to the weather.
Those poor fans - they've waited twelve years.
That is just absolutely awful , I am sure fans would have travelled to BA for the gig , I take it they cannot reschedule
I can see from reading online that the Argentinian fans are really upset over the way the festivals organisers handled the situation & I think they were left in the dark about the whole thing until the last minute , it must be so disappointing for them but hopefully Robbie will go back there again as soon as he can, he kept his promise about giving the free gig in Dublin so I sure he is gutted about the event been cancelled but it looks like there was nothing they could do , at the end of the day people's safety comes first.
robbiewilliamsTo my Argentinian fans who were going to come to see me perform at @personalfest Buenos Aires this message is for you x

Just seen some photos posted in FB of BA at the weekend completely flooded out...not a hope that gig was going to happen...
Bless him -that was kind of him to do that. He must feel awful - to go all that way for nothing.
Kick off in a couple of hours time
He got the posh one
Robbie looking mighty fit in his kilt
I really like this version of Rudebox
Looks like he was really enjoying last night. Good audience.
Last one tomorrow I think.
I really like the setlist for this part of the tour
Corona, Mexico
Can see he's having a ball here
Mexico is a good market place for him I think
i think all the countries he visited love him. Ashame that he had not invested there for 12 years
Oh my goodness - the new dates are in June. That's almost save upable for #tempted
Saw a little snippet on Upfront from RW that hinted they are trying to re-book the Argentina gigs.
Had this on in the car yesterday and I had a re-appreciation of it. The first five songs are real whoppers and then there's Hotel Crazy which I love, Best Intentions and When You Know - I love and then the beautiful Marry Me at the end.
I really did enjoy it.
