I low-key love The Kooks; I always forget how much I do until a new album by them rolls around. "Let's Go Sunshine" their 5th studio album is released at the end of August. "All The Time" and "No Pressure" were released simultaneously a couple of weeks ago to lead the album.

I LOVE "All The Time" - they always manage at least one track per album that I am all over (last time it was "Around Town", but there were sooo many great singles from "Listen". I could not understand why "Around Town" was left off of their first Greatest Hits!)

1. Intro - 0:20
2. Kids - 3:40
3. All The Time - 4:06
4. Believe - 4:14
5. Fractured And Dazed - 4:37
6. Chicken Bone - 3:45
7. Four Leaf Clover - 3:23
8. Tesco Disco - 4:44
9. Honey Bee - 2:17
10. Initials For Gainsbourg - 4:18
11. Pamela - 3:04
12. Picture Frame - 3:40
13. Swing Low - 3:44
14. Weight Of The World - 3:37
15. No Pressure - 3:36

I haven't listened to The Kooks before, but No Pressure is brilliant.

Oh my goodness! Go educate yourself (you'll be happy you did).

The big obvious ones are "Naive" and "She Moves In Her Own Way" - top 10 hits from 2006 and from the excellent album "Inside In/Inside Out".

Other favourites singles for me are "Junk Of The Heart (Happy)", "Around Town", "You Don't Love Me", "Sway", "Always Where I Need To Be" and "Forgive & Forget". But there are plenty of great tracks from them wub.gif

I hate them, but they hit such a good 1-2 punch with 'She Moves In Her Own Way' and 'Ooh La'.

Of course I'm here for this, any nostalgic 00s indie band gets me going wub.gif No Pressure was very instant but All The Time has really grown on me and will probably end up being my favourite in the long run.

The latest track, Four Leaf Clover, is really good.

Four Leaf Clover sounds really like the stuff we got from The Kooks in the 00s and I'm loving it music.gif

Overall, this album is looking very solid, only about a month until it comes out!

Haha! Another decent track but I think the only one of the 5 so far that I'm really into is "All The Time" (which I still love). They seem to be going for the softer seaside lalala sound this time. I liked how raw they sounded on "Listen" and every single single off of that album was at least very good. These kind of merge into one a bit.

I'll reserve my proper opinion until I've heard the album - I guess I felt similarly with Vance Joy leading up to the release of "Nation Of Two" but have ended up really liking that!

Okay so I was more pleased than I was expecting to be on the whole; "All The Time" is the obvious standout but it is a decent body of work. Need to give it a 2nd listen to really make a solid decision on my favourite tracks though. I had been concerned that we were gonna be getting a wishy washy seaside album (I know what I mean in my head!)

I do think that the best songs on the album had already been released by the time the album came out, which meant I was a little disappointed. Pamela and Believe are my favourite of the non-pre-released album tracks and it's not a bad album at all, the songs just don't stick out after a few listens as much as I'd like them to (barring the two mentioned)

'Ooh La' was just unbelievably catchy. 'Naive' wasn't too bad either but most of their stuff was pretty awful laugh.gif

"Pamela" is the new single - good choice, the best track on the album next to "All The Time"! This is more what I was wanting as a follow up single than the other tracks we had.

Excellent choice, agree wholeheartedly with that statement biggrin.gif do you know if its impact date is pre-Christmas? Hopefully R2 will playlist it.
