So the first teaser trailer for the final 
film has been released, so I thought a thread should be made!

Having read the books, I am looking forward to Part 2 of Mockingjay, although I was a bit disappointed with part 1, I think they could have done a better job of splitting the book so there was an equal-ish amount of action and plot progression in both but I guess that just means there is more to anticipate in the next film so it should be good

Just seen the trailer for this at the cinema and I am more excited than ever, I was left tingling. There looks like somuch action yet so much actual storyline at the same time and just the ending in the books is such a finale so I'm excited to see how it's all adapted into film.
Also excited for Jennifer doing interviews/promo, she's amazing.

After thinking Part 1 was very tedious and boring, this was a perfect way to end the series! Really gripping throughout, the ending dragged a bit, but I think this and the first films were the best in the franchise.

Absolutely stunning. Such a beautiful, powerful and fantastic movie and echo Jack's comment that this was the perfect way to end the series! 
Will post a way bigger review tomorrow but so happy with how great this was, just fantastic
Though I do wish there was a soundtrack for this as loved the previous ones 
Though the song at the end is beautiful

Such a step up from the last one. Some parts were so tense and well constructed. And given its length, it was well paced.
The ending did drag a bit with trying to tie everything up, and Prim's death wasn't as much of a moment as it should have been.

Definitely agree that it was well paced and very entertaining. Very much like Harry Potter's final two parts - the first was a much slower and stretched out storyline but the second was full of action and content.
I agree with Joe about that moment. It almost felt like an afterthought.

I don't fully agree that it felt like an afterthought, maybe in the moment but Katniss attacking the cat helped to drive it home I thought.
It was an improvement on part 1 but the first two movies are far and away the best of the franchise imo. The way the 'war' ended was very much "oh..is that it?" but I suppose that's a fault of the book.

Yeah I agree 1 and 2 are just so amazing, but the book just doesn't have the same kind of climactic ending. I loved the middle section with all the traps/oil though - reminiscent to the actual games.

This was pretty good, not as exciting as the first two but Lawrence delivers rebellion really well so I don't mind. The sewer sequence was so good and the 'nightlock, nightlock, nightlock *BOOM*' was delivered well too. Wish they'd lingered more on Prim's death, if I hadn't read the books, I'd have thought it was a dream. Coin's death was good too, I knew what was coming but my heart was in my mouth in anticipation so they did that well I thought. The scene where Katniss attacked the cat was my favourite though, the way Lawrence acts PTSD is very good, I can't imagine what it would be like in her position. glad it didn't end on a happy ending as well, my dad turned to me and said Peeta's gonna save her in the end isn't he after he started going bad and it made me happy to think that this series isn't massively cliché like you'd expect it to be, a non-happy ending made it stand out in that respect.
Pleased with this but not in my top five of the year like the first two.

^ Yeah I like how in one way there was a happy ending because of Katniss & Peeta ending up together (which I've been shipping the entire time <3) and having kids but then her sister died and Gale had blood on his hands so it wasn't all rainbows and unicorns by any means, feels right for the series. And ditto the last part, I considered the first two movies to be my favourites from their respective years (not that I came anywhere close to seeing 100 movies like I will do this year) but this won't be top 10 for me.
Not with a knife or anything but she really went at it with the screaming yeah

I actually thought this was excellent, perhaps the best of the entire series. The only thing keeping me from definitively saying that was everything that happened after the ''care packages''. It took to long for not a lot to happen and rather than a narrative felt like a lot of disjointed scenes trying to give closure to every plotline left hanging. That in itself isn't a bad thing, I just think it could have been done better.
Most of the big plot points I was already aware of, but the various pods were brilliantly done, some quite menacing and the scene in the sewers (Michelle Forbes you daft bitch) was the highlight of the whole movie. Properly tense and scary and just perfect.

This was fantastic, however If I was to rank the films:
1. The Hunger Games
2. Catching Fire
3. Part 2
4. Part 1
The first 2 films were definitely the best, but I think the thrill of watching the games happen was what made me love them the most. The last 2 films (and book) kind of made me feel like it was a completely different series...

7/10. I mean I loved seeing the characters again, the cast is fab, Jennifer is amaz'n, and though I'd not read the books I guessed the ending, sort of. Donald Sutherland still needs some kudos, such a wonderful baddie and performance, especially his last scenes. My main problem with it as a film, is it's very much a Part 2, and can't in any way stand alone. There's no beginning, and it's mostly start in the middle of the middle before progressing on to a drawn-out end. If you hadn't seen the first 3 it wouldnt make much sense. Biggest criticism: hardly any Effie!! She still manages to steal a scene though purely with a touching facial close-up.

My least favorite of franchise...I never read books and defeating Snow was such an anti-climax for me...I really expected her to go to his mansion and have a face to face scene and I don't know, perhaps killing him

The last chapter of the Hunger Games film series "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" came out in cinemas worldwide last autumn. Having seen all the previous films on the big screen, I was expecting to see something very epic and revolutionary in "Mockingjay Part 2"! So I did not read anything about the plot, but neither did I see the official trailer in a movie theater. I had no knowledge of the content of the new movie although I remembered some basic things from the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1". However, I expected it to have many twists that combined with appropriate doses of suspense and action. Something that never really happened.
"Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" was quite disappointing as the last film. It had very slow evolution and almost no activity. There were measured action scenes. Francis Lawrence took over the directing for the third consecutive time but he could not have done great things with this scenario. Incidentally he has directed extremely iconic video clips such as Bad Romance, What You Waiting For ?, Just Like A Pill, Whenever, Wherever and I Don't Want To Miss A Thing etc. Moreover, the main actors were looking at each other in almost every shot. Katniss looks at Peeta, Katniss looks at Gale, Peeta looks at Katniss, Pita looks at Gale, Gale looks at Katniss and Gale looks at Peeta and so on while the dialogues were few and laconic. Nevertheless, because I do not want to be only negative and passionate but objective too, the new capital had in comparison with the previous movie, most amazing special effects, very loud sound effects, eccentric costumes and intricate backdrops! However, in no way did it touch the first two chapters of the series which they had a better overall result. Finally, do not forget that clichés had a “field day” in the last movie.
"Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" hit first place in the Box Office although it had not the anticipated receipts in the first three days of the release. The truth is that the official release date was quite overshadowed by "Spectre" and the highly anticipated "Star Wars : The Force Awakens", which were both hyped continuously from the beginning of 2015! However, we do not need to look for excuses when a movie is not very good like "Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2". It was pretty boring and flabby in the biggest part of its total duration. I think I would have given up the book in the middle if I had come in the process to read it before I had seen the whole series. It is one of the few trilogies which begin very strongly but quickly deflate at the end.

I feel like we watched different movies. No activity? There were some great action sequences in there?
Not sure I understand why actors looking at each other is a bad thing

.It wasn't so action packed as the first two films. It was quite slow as Mockingjay Part 1. Of course, the latter was boring as hell.
It's a bad thing when we talk about action or adventure movies. It's ok for dramas.

See, I feel differently. These movies are so character driven that the relationships between them are just as important as any of the action sequences. They're the beating heart of the movies. The performances and the connection between the actors and the characters are much of what made the movies so fantastic for me.
There are a hundred other throwaway action movies to watch if you're not fussed for real character development but I never got the impression they set out to make these movies all about the action. Even in the documentaries on the blu-rays, they talk so passionately about the cast and how well written the original characters were.
I'd agree that Mockngjay Part 1 was the slowest moving movie of the 4, but it's still a gorgeous piece of moviemaking. I get completely taken away by the performances that I don't feel like I miss big action scenes in that movie.
Part 2, on the other hand, was full on and intense. There were some amazing sequences in there, visually and emotionally.
Overall, the first 2 are still my favourites (Catching Fire is a masterpiece) but there's really not much separating them all for me.
