Top 100 for the 18th May 2019

Pete's ~~procrastinating instead of doing revision~~ chart commentary:
13 new entries in the Top 40 this week to wipe out the bottom half of the table, before Eurovision does the same with the top half next week. And thank goodness it exists, because the top 10 is looking ridiculously stale as usual, with 6 non-movers. We do have a new entry in the Top 5 though, courtesy of Marnik - and on about 50 of the other weeks it wouldn't have got that high but the Top 10 is so weak right now that it's gone straight in at the Top 5. They get their second Top 40 hit anyway, the first being Burn from last year. Expect a big drop for that anyway. Teleman also climb into the Top 10 with their rather odd-but-catchy sounding indie piece.

Other new entries include a load of indie tracks, including Tom Odell's new song for the Moominvalley soundtrack (what's a moominvalley? who knows). Declan McKenna's offering from the same soundtrack doesn't fare quite as well - let's hope that when he comes back properly his music is a little more striking. Three worship songs make their way into the Top 40, as well as a second BJSC entry in the form of Caravan Palace, which is incredibly catchy but please don't talk about that music video. There's a smattering of indie/BJSC new entries in the Top 100 as well.

Hey Pete!

I'll be honest, it's one of those weeks where I've heard hardly any of your new entries

Quite liking that Tom Odell song though, probably one of his best singles since the previous era tbh.

Shame to see This Life not doing as well as Harmony Hall, both songs are on a par for me.

Is the Struts song new? I've quite liked a lot of their stuff so I'll have to check it out.

A rather stable top end of the chart with absolutely all sorts going on below it! Great to see Teleman get into the top ten, Feeder's continued climb is pleasing too. Silversun Pickups have my favourite of your new entries this week, and can't wait to see the impact of Eurovision next week!

Not often we share an 18 in Bjsc but Up and Down is excellent. Great to see it high in tour chart! It’ll be entering mine highly too but probably not so high.

Yay for Avicii making it in the lower end too!

plenty of goodies in your chart also in mine now, Two Door Cinema Club, Georgia (quite why it's not charting is beyond me, it's very Robyn), Caravan Palace, Hot Chip, Rat City, Jax Jones, and many more.

Lewis Capaldi - I seem to be alone in the universe in not getting his appeal. Nice bloke, but yet to chart one of his, oops!
