I thought in the US it was 16 tracks for the album tracks and had been from the start? I’m probably wrong though, I do agree though there’s no need for it really.

Surprised at the double album but I thought she’d throw some new variant out midweek like she did with midnights to maximise the impact so this will certainly give this a huge boost. It’ll be interesting to see the streaming numbers tomorrow and how many get over the million mark as I suspect there will be a few and also how it holds up. I think she’s missed a trick though doing the double album now, she could have waited a couple of days and then given the whole album a boost but alas it’ll still be massive one way or another.

If it was me I think I'd have put the second half out a week later, then you'd get two huge sales weeks!

In tracklist order pretty much (as expected) to start with. I really hope 'My Boy Only Breaks His Favourite Toys', 'But Daddy I Love Him' and 'Florida!!!' can make their way into the top 10 soon!

Great first update!

And we know it's not combined!!! So most likely it's number 1...
I mean in the US it's straight to number 1 without being combined after the number 1 there is number 1 for 5 weeks - not moving. All 16 songs in the top 25 in the US, biggest debut ever.

US chart:

#1. “Fortnight”
#3. “The Tortured Poets Department”
#5. “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys”
#6. “So Long, London”
#7. “Down Bad”
#8. “But Daddy I Love Him”
#9. “Florida!!!”
#12. “Fresh Out The Slammer”
#13. “Loml”
#14. “Guilty as Sin?”
#15. “Who’s Afraid of Old Little Me?”
#17. “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can)”
#18. “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart”
#19. “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”
#24. “The Alchemy”
#25. “Clara Bow”

5.

BTW in the US is The first female or a male song in history to debut directly at #1.

You know also there is an hour apart from the first to the last song so it will chart differently, to come in here find something negative about this debut in 5 hours before even the 2 version are combined, you must be joking.

I was not expecting this song to enter at all, let alone so high! laugh.gif Great stuff - it's also #22 in Ireland.

That happens with most albums laugh.gif but as already stated the albums only hours old and you will also have people starting it at different time

Fortnight is decent but very The 1975 to my ears.

Is their any backlash from Taylor's fanbase for 31 tracks? I'm old enough to remember the lashings Tori Amos fans gave her during her bloated albums period (which were only 18-24 tracks) for not being able to edit down to a great 14 track album instead of a lumpy 21 track one. I cant imagine 31 tracks doesn't have a load of duds scattered through it.

On reddit they're generally saying Part 2 (17-31) is better than Part 1 (1-16) with Desner's production being better than Antonoff's. I've only listened to the first part and got bored of it to be honest.

Having listened to 9 or 10 of the tracks so far, Fortnight is about the least interesting to my ears. Wouldn't have picked it as the smash.

I’m hoping she gets a number 1 single next week to make up for all the years she just missed out.

US numbers will get the full 24 hours on Spotify whereas UK missed some hours. I’m thinking one or two of Taylor’s songs will get above 5 mill on there. UK still saying around a mill
