That and they're using a bloody ORCHESTRA with all the entries.
I mean I get the likes of Albania using one where popular music is still stuck in 1987 but Norway really ought to know better!
That's actually quite INTRIGUING.
http://www.eurovision.tv/page/news?id=live_norwegian_national_final_participants_revealed
ACTUAL OMG at Karin Park AND GUY CHAMBERS! The BBC must be fucking APOPLECTIC at that - he's the exact kind of writer UK Eurovision entry fan fic dreams are made of!
Karin Park and Guy Chambers *.* Surely the winner, it can't be anything less than incredible.
And former Rontvian BJSC flop entrant Jenny Langlo too
YAAAAASSSSS Karin & Guy, Jenny and Bettan!
Also Lazz (the one on the right presumably) would get it.
Karin better come back with a killer this time. Margaret's song was incredible and my fave of 2013 so she better deliver or else
Karin Park *.*
This year seems a bit better than last year, by the 15 seconds clips. I don't understand why NRK chose to have the final the same day as MF though...
OMFG ALEXANDRA BONER JONER *.*
Come Inside Me 2.0 pls
Oh it's THAT Bettan! Bless her returning to an NF yet again.
Do any of these acts have rabid fanbases in Norway Jerick or is the path clear for Karin Park to win? I trust in Norway to make the right choice, they generally do.
(A1/Didrik aside )
I haven't actually heard anything of Karin's that's wowed me yet... and we all know how annoying I find 'I Feed You My Love', so you'll probably find me favouring something different that will inevitably be poppers o'clock and fall in 2nd place.
Ira Konstantinidis, Marie Klåpbakken, Mørland & Debrah Scarlett and Staysman & Lazz are all new for me... although I know Staysman was a Paradise Hotel participant some years ago
Erlend Bratland and Jenny Langlo both disappeared after they won Norway Got Talent and Idol, but everyone in Norway would know them.
Alexandra Joner became very popular with 'Come Inside Me', for the wrong reasons obviously!
I've heard of Contrazt, and I'm sad to say they might have a huge fanbase... hard to say about danseband's
Raylee is also very popular, she came 4th in a music competition among highly established artists last year.
According to ESC Forum, opening Melodi Grand Prix odds from Unibet:
Erlend Bratland - 1.50
Mørland & Debrah Scarlett - 5.00
Karin Park - 10.00
Staysman & Lazz - 15.00
Jenny Langlo - 15.00
Marie Klåpbakken - 25.00
Tor & Bettan - 35.00
Ira Konstantinidis - 50.00
Raylee - 50.00
Alexandra Joner - 50.00
Contrazt - 50.00
And very contrasting odds from Nordicbet apparently!
Jenny Langlo - Next to You 3.00
Alexandra Joner - Cinderella 3.50
Raylee - Louder 4.00
Ira Konstantinidis - We Dont Worry 6.00
Karin Park - Human Beings 6.00
Tor og Bettan - All Over the World 6.00
Erlend Bratland - Thunderstruck 7.00
Mørland og Debrah Scarlett - A Monster Like Me 8.00
Marie Klåpbakken - Ta Meg Tilbake 10.00
Contrazt - Heaven 14.50
Staysman og Lazz - En godt stekt pizza 175.00
The Erlend Bratland track is SURELY going to be seen as too much of a Stjernberg redux to win..

Songs are currently leaking.
'Human Beings' is incredible!
They are all out! 'A Monster Like Me', 'Human Beings' and 'Next To You' have the hype over on ESC Forum in that order. I've listened to the former two, 'A Monster Like Me' is very nice, but 'Human Beings' is exactly my sort of song. I have a feeling Karin won't win though for some reason, I don't think it'll be as instant as 'I Feed You My Love' was for the audience. 'A Monster Like Me' seems a good bet for the win.
Oh, Karin Park's song is so underwhelming. Pretty dull and hookless
Raylee - Louder - Not bad, but a bit boring... Will be placed around 7th-10th I think. 6/10
Erlend Bratland - Thunderstruck - I really like this at first listen, but it sounds like a Stjernberg song like mentioned before. 8/10
Marie Klåpbakken - Ta Meg Tilbake - Nice but boring... 4/10
Elisabeth Andreassen og Tore Endresen - All Over The World - Did Bettan og Tore make an olympic song for Oslo 2022?? It's.. something... 5/10
Ira Konstantinidis - We Don't Worry - Boring 4/10
Mørland og Debrah Scarlett - A Monster Like Me - I love this, and think how amazing it might sound with a live orchestra!? I think it could go all the way 9.5/10
Alexandra Joner - Cinderella - Nice attempt, could grow a bit too 7/10
Contrazt - Heaven - NOPE NOPE NOPE - 1/10
Jenny Langlo - Next To You - Great song, not sure it could go all the way. It's a grower I think. 7/10
Karin Park - Human Beings - My favoirte from the 15 seconds snippets, falls a rank down from there. but still pretty amazing. 9/10
Staysmann og Lazz - En Godt Stekt Pizza - 0/10
From first listen I can only see Mørland & Debrah and Karin Park going all the way. Erlend Bratland could be a dark horse thou
On second listening I just adore 'A Monster Like Me' <3
Jenny Langlo's song is better than the song of hers that I sent to BJSC a couple of years ago! Human Beings is very nice actually too but not as big as I'd hoped. Really liking A Monster Like Me a lot too!
Will get onto the others now that I've heard the fan favourites!
Erlend Bratland literally IS Robin Stjernberg (via Adam Lambert). The song, the image, the voice...
It's good enough but I can't see it doing much better than low top 20 at Eurovision. There are much better options than this, if it is indeed the favourite.
It was the favourite, it's down to second now (3/1) with 'A Monster Like Me' clear favourites (3/5). If the odds are to be believed the only other two aside from those two in contention are Alexandra Joner and Staysman & Lazz (both 5/1). The rest are 19/1 are higher!
Why did the producers let Contrazt get as far as the final!?! This song should have been canned at the first opportunity. It's not awful per se but it would be a major embarrassment of an entry for Norway, perhaps even a nul pointer in the semi, 1995 would have laughed at it for sounding too dated. And it doesn't have an awful lot going for it even taking away the massively cliched and dire production.
I don't think much of Alexandra's song either, quite a filler for me. Staysman & Lazz is awful but incredibly memorable/catchy, I hope Norway don't go for it though. A Monster Like Me would be a great entry.
Oh LORD, poor Bettan's song is even worse, what on earth is this!?!
Two potential Eurovision nul-pointers in this selection, there's surely no way anybody would vote for All Over The World? Those lyrics
Just heard the tracks. I'm only really excited over Jenny Langlo's.
Then I guess Erlend's is as good as an Eurovision anthem comes.
'Human Beings' is not very immediate nor memorable and 'A Monster Like Me' is a bit too much on the depressing side for my liking but those complete my Top 4.
The rest I can take or leave.
I'm CINDERELLA
La LA la LA!
Has anybody stumbled across an MGP MP3 pack at all?
I swear Eurovision downloads were FAR easier to find years ago, I'm struggling to source anything this year. I'd be quite happy to buy the MGP album if it wasn't only available on iTunes Norway/Sweden
I couldn't find it but compiled http://www52.zippyshare.com/v/IiFma45b/file.html with all of the HQ leaks.
Thanks Pav!
Merci!
I have the iTunes version of Cinderella if anyone is interested!
omg what a DREADFUL selection of songs, literally washed out at sea, flat and lifeless!
also why in the promo images does everyone, for want of a better word does everyone look like an utter c**t?! is it the norm in norge?
En Godt Stekt Pizza is really the catchiest song on this list. Says it ALL lmao
'A Monster Like Me' has just clicked for me! The lyrics tell a story so well and their voices are amazing, I really love Debrah's tone. I'd very much like this to win assuming Karin is out of the running, and it'd be a good bet for a Vienna top 10!
En Godt Stekt Pizza have been played too much on the radio... I'm starting to really like it...
Tbh this contest needs a dose of silly. I love Morland and Jenny but I wouldn't hold it against then. Plus the chubby one would get it.
I like the instrumental of Staysman & Lazz, but overall it's pretty awful. It'd be a massive shame if something like 'A Monster Like Me' lost out to it, but I'm fearing it will as there seems to be a lot of hype now over this.
I'd rather a fantastic ballad than an average-to-poor uptempo even in this ballad-heavy year.
The more I think about it, the more I think 'Thunderstruck' is Norway's best option here.
The running order came out a couple of days ago
Melodi 1: Erlend Bratland - «Thunderstruck»
Melodi 2: Raylee - «Louder»
Melodi 3: Tor & Bettan - «All Over the World»
Melodi 4: Jenny Langlo - «Next to You»
Melodi 5: Ira Konstantinidis - «We Don't Worry»
Melodi 6: Contrazt - «Heaven»
Melodi 7: Marie Klåpbakken - «Ta meg tilbake»
Melodi 8: Staysman & Lazz - «En godt stekt pizza»
Melodi 9: Mørland & Debrah Scarlett - «A Monster Like Me»
Melodi 10: Alexandra Joner - «Cinderella»
Melodi 11: Karin Park - «Human Beings»
Bolds have chosen to use the live orchestra.
Morland & Debrah back out to Evens in the odds with Staysman & Lazz down to 2/1, by tomorrow I assume the latter will have taken over. What a disaster Norway
En godt stekt pizza to win plz
This isn't really going to be useful as everyone knows it all already, but seeing as it was the last national final of the season I just had to complete the set. I hope these overview things haven't annoyed you all too much, but I've found them very useful in getting to grips with what is happening in each final so I'm glad I've done them for myself anyway!
Really want 'A Monster Like Me' to win this, but I fear that Staysman & Lazz are going to be unstoppable in a pure televote.
I have loved these overview things Ryan! I really hope you do them again next year
I won't be watching MGP tonight, might tune in to the results after MF. I would like a non-ballad to win please.
No, they've been very useful for me to know what's going on just by casually browsing the thread, good job Ryan! (as well as an avenue to easily check out the songs if I ever want to)
I think, without really listening to much of this final I shall want the pizza song to triumph tonight for something undoubtedly fun to join this year's lineup, Karin Park's song sounds quite good but it wouldn't be an essential one, and given Norway have provided us with some fab credible entries the last two years they're excused a novelty entry.
Many thanks for these overviews Ryan, they've been a big highlight of the forum this NF season!
I wouldn't rule out Karin Park with her going on last but other than that, Erlend Bratland is my favourite here (and is also written by the same people that wrote 'Heroes' in MF and both of them winning on the same night would be amusing).
Ooh I'm glad you've found them useful too!
Although having said that Thunderstruck is a great tune now I've listened to it. That's torn me.
The guldfinalists are
01 | ► Erlend Bratland - Thunderstruck
03 | ► Tor & Bettan - All Over The World
08 | ► Staysman & Lazz - En godt stekt pizza
09 | ► Mørland & Debrah Scarlett - A Monster Like Me
Erlend Bratland is serving Adam Lambert realness, it's all quite fabulous!
PRAYING 'A Monster Like Me' wins. The other songs are DIRE.
Same, but I really don't think it will - ESC Xtra gave it a very bad review in their live blog tonight and that's dampened my optimism
Having done a brief YouTube catch up, A Monster Like Me didn't leave any kind of visual impression so I think that'll struggle here.
Good lord at that Tor & Bettan mess getting further than Karin Park/Jenny Langlo!
OMG YES YES YES YES YES!!!!
This really is gorgeous. <3
I think this song is extremely good but the girls vocals aren't so Great.
Debrah's vocals are my favourite, such a distinctive tone - reminds me a little bit of a higher-pitched Rebecca Ferguson in a strange way.
These results were an emotional rollercoaster, when 'A Monster Like Me' took the lead after the third region I started to hope, but then Erlend overtook straight away after the penultimate region. But I knew that the last region would have the most votes, so when Erlend was only third I wasn't sure whether to be happy for Morland & Debrah or be nervous that the Pizza guys could have landslided the biggest vote. Luckily they didn't quite win it by enough - so so pleased for Morland & Debrah!
Official music video:
Karin Park live at the adequately named Oslo in Hackney on April 28th.
http://themjrgroup.seetickets.com/event/karin-park/oslo/865104#
Who's going?
Thinking about it. Wonder if she'll do Human Beings. Or I Feed You My Love
She'll most likely do Human Beings, but I'd be there for her other stuff really.
If she does IFYML though...
Shock horror but a BBC Radio DJ that isn't Graham Norton or Scott Mills played a Eurovision song that isn't the UK entry and not even in May!
Dermot O'Leary played the fantastic 'A Monster Like Me' on BBC Radio 2 yesterday! You can relive this unbelievable moment by clicking http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05s93yg and skipping to 57 minutes in. He mentions that he had Mørland in the studio a couple of years ago (of course he lives in Brighton).
