8. Gabrielle - Rise (7.85)
((11), Simon), ((1), Luciano)

Opening Now 45 is Gabrielle with the awesome 'Rise'. It became her second chart topper in the UK, and was th second single from her album of the same name.

7. Moloko - The Time Is Now (7.92)
((11), مدهش*), (fgi090505 gave at 1)

When we did Now 44 a while ago, the more well know and more popular 'Sing It Back' only got to 21 with an average rate of 6.71, whilst the more obscure 'The Time Is Now' makes the Top 10 with an average score of 7.92. Still it's a good tune.

6. Artful Dodger feat. Romina Johnson - Movin' Too Fast (8.0)
((10), Niall Minogue, xcucumbrellax, Simon, darkstar79, Jade), ((4), Rob)

The second appearance from Artful Dodger on Now 45 is Movin' Too Fast'. Peaking at Number 2 in March 2000, this wa the second single from the guys and followed up 'Re-Rewind (When The Crowd Say Bo Selecta)'. Quite interestingly Artful Dodger has two tracks on Now 45, then had hits with 'Woman Trouble', 'Please Don't Turn Me On', 'Twentyfourseven' and 'Think About Me' all big enough to be featured on a Now album, but never did.

5. Britney Spears - Born To Make You Happy (8.0) - Had two 11's.
((11), Nick F1, Luciano), ((3), Dobbo)

Britney's second Number 1 came early in the year 2000 with 'Born To Make You Happy'. Not my favourite from her, but it's nice to hear every now and again.

Sorry I didn't rate this album. This is one of my favourites and I've been listening to lots of it for the past two weeks while compiling my Tony's 2000s thead.

How can you say Sing It Back is more well known and more popular than a song that sold more, got to a higher position and is rated a whole lot higher by Buzzjack and my a lot of people I know.

This is far from obscure. Baffling! Probably would have got my 11 too.

4. Madison Avenue - Don't Call Me Baby (8.05)
((11), Doug), ((2), gfgi090505)

Originally out in 1999 and flopped, 'Don't Call Me Baby' was re-released in April 2000 and shot to Number 1 in the UK Charts.

3. Kelis - Caught Out There (8.45)
((11), GRIFF, darkstar79), ((5), Jade)

It was the breakthrough hit for Kelis back in 2000 with the very feisty 'Caught Out There'. It's done very well on this rate to get this high! ohmy.gif

Because 'Sing It Back' still gets good radio airplay on local and national and is generally loved by the public. Apart from doing this rate this week, I can't remember the last time I heard 'The Time Is Now', nevermind find someone who actually remembers the song. But maybe your friend group is different to mine. I'm just commentating my thoughts on the tracks, there's no need to bite my head off about it. I'm happy for you to give your thoughts on the tracks too. wink.gif

2. Melanie C feat. Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez - Never Be The Same Again (8.90)
((11), Jester), ((5), Tylky)

Third time lucky for Melanie C as the third single from her debut solo album shoots straight to Number 1. It features the late Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez, who was one third of TLC before her tragic death.

1. Fragma - Toca's Miracle (9.25)
((11), gavindeejay, gooddelta, xcucumbrellax, MyKindOfLove), ((4), Liam)

The most rated song on Now 45 is Fragma with Toca's Miracle. It originally a Number 11 hit in 1999, but with Coca's 'I Need A Miracle' added in, 'Toca's Miracle' went straight to Number 1 in 2000 and was one of the biggest dance hits of the year. A fantastic winner! biggrin.gif

Sorry, Gavin. I didn't mean to bite your head off. I just found it very surprising to hear it described as obscure. It even won best single of 2000 at the Q awards. Seeing as it has done rather well here and got lots of 10s and an 11 from Dandy, it's well remembered.

We all have different perspectives, I guess.

Apologies again and I really regret not submitting a rate for this wonderful album.

Sorry for not voting, Gavin, there were some songs I loved on here but didn't know about three quarters of the CD! Good winner though, sad to see All The Small Things stall outside the top 10 though, would've got my 11 for sure sad.gif (Ooh and The Time is Now>>>>>>>>>>>>>Sing It Back, so glad Buzzjack got that right!)

not bad results overall, love 'toca's miracle' so I'm alright with that winning, not too surprised to see it win either. also glad to see 'don't call me baby' make it into the top 5! shame that vengaboys and shania fell out so early though, the latter I thought would be in with a shot of winning sad.gif at least that dull gabrielle song didn't make it as high as I thought it would though.
