The UK is really standing out badly in what is mostly a good list otherwise by continuing to tolerate will.i.am's music career.
Finland's #1 sounds suitably iconic from the clip. Never change. |

This is its' second nonconsecutive week according to one of our newspapers "Frettablašiš". (Last Week's #1 was Sam Smith "Stay With Me" but The Common Linnets were the No. 1 song the week before that)

I do love how random the UK's chart is compared to everywhere else in Europe
 So many songs that don't get near the top anywhere else, while half of Europe is currently dominated by Lilly Wood & The Prick.

'Bailando' and its success in Spain are beginning to look like a parody at this stage. What is it about an international artist singing a song in a country's native language that drives them wild? Actual Spanish artists would kill for 13+ weeks on top.

While I completely agree with your point in general (it always seems like pandering to me, Christina Aguilera's Spanish language album being a good example), I am quite certain that Enrique is Spanish.

Sorry, I should have clarified. Enrique is Spanish but he's not "local" and is more often than not an Anglophone singer. It's a bit annoying that whenever he decides to go back to his Spanish routes for 5 minutes he gets a hit this big when the only other Spanish act to get a #1 so far this year is David Bisbal (and I guess Real Madrid
).

A quick glance at wiki shows 'Waves' topping 10 [European] national charts with 'Prayer In C' topping 11 before its UK/Irish push. I'd say this is the bigger hit.
