From 1990 to 2018, Disney had a lower-budget studio, Disneytoon Studios, which became renowned for making direct-to-DVD sequels of Disney classics (as well as Goofy and Winnie the Pooh movies). Later in the studios' life it made only Tinkerbell and Planes movies before closing in 2018.
I haven't seen any, but I'm going to check them all out soon - and I know they don't have the best reputation does anyone here have any thoughts on them? 1. Aladdin: The Return of Jafar (1994) 2. Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996) 3. Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (1997) 4. Belle's Magical World (1998) 5. Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World (1998) 6. The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998) 7. The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (2000) 8. Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp's Adventure (2001) 9. Return to Never Land (2002) 10. Cinderella II: Dreams Come True (2002) 11. The Hunchback of Notre Dame II (2002) 12. 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure (2003) 13. The Jungle Book 2 (2003) 14. Atlantis: Milo's Return (2003) 15. The Lion King 1½ (2004) 16. Mulan II (2005) 17. Tarzan II (2005) 18. Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (2005) 19. Kronk's New Groove (2005) 20. Bambi II (2007) 21. Brother Bear 2 (2006) 22. The Fox and the Hound 2 (2006) 23. Cinderella III: A Twist in Time (2007) 24. The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning (2008) I didn't realise how many they made until now! When Pixar's John Lasseter took over Disney Animation, he cancelled other DTV sequels for Dumbo, Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, Pinocchio and The Artistocats |

I saw the Aladdin and Lion King ones! King of Thieves is probably one of those movies I watched a hundred times in my childhood! Aladdin's dad was my first crush

As a kid, I saw these in the same light as the originals oops. They definitely seem very odd and unnecessary looking back, especially as so many were just the kids of the characters replaying the original story
I think a standout fave was Return to Never Land although, saying that, I remember her being annoying. I did like following the dogs in Scamp & Patch and the third Lion King is great too! I only just recently rewatched Kronk's New Groove There was Tarzan & Jane too which I found boring. |

Lilo & Stitch 2
Lion King 2 and 1 1/2 Brother Bear 2 All 10/10 movies, the rest I’ve either forgotten or never seen Lion King 2 is a bit strange looking back but its a nice telling of Romeo & Juliet following on from the originals Hamlet portrayal. The third movie is super unnecessary but I ADORE it so much it’s actually hilarious DIG A TUNNEL DIG DIG A TUNNEL quick before the hyena come |

It always amuses me that Dumbo 2 had a trailer put on loads of the early 2000s DVDs, I had one on Fun and Fancy Free and it confused me as to why I couldn't find it anywhere

I’ve gotten more of an appreciation for Lion King 1 1/2 after reading through Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead - both satirize the plot of their respective OGs and Lion King is based on Hamlet so it kinda makes sense
