The original Sugababes WILL be reforming, it has just be reported. According to website Holy Moly, Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy are in a second meeting with a potential producer as we type, and have been offered a group deal plus solo deals from Warners. This is great news for the girls, but what will this mean to the existing Sugababes? And what will the old, erm, new Sugababes call themselves? It’s all very exciting, isn’t it?

Keisha tweeted she is hoping her solo album will be out some time next year. So this is unlikely true.

Posted by: L!AMfuller™ Nov 3 2009, 05:23 PM

Recent report on Digitalspy claimed that Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan were in TALKS of a reform but shortly after the article was publicised Keishas representative denied this claim and it turns out not to be true. Keisha is instead going to give a solo career a try and Siobhan does not want to return to music.

Posted by: J-o-e Nov 3 2009, 05:23 PM

Hope its not true.

Posted by: Mike Sugafan Nov 3 2009, 05:35 PM

Hopefully it's true biggrin.gif

Posted by: Jark Nov 3 2009, 05:37 PM

Mutya's manager spoke to Siobhan today and said things are 'looking good' so I'd say it's on. Mixed feelings about this (but they're preferable to 4.0)...

Posted by: Aled. Nov 3 2009, 06:18 PM

Hope it doenst happen & Dont think it'll happen either. Things arent going great for Siobhan or Mutya I know but things arent that bad surely?

Posted by: yipes Nov 3 2009, 07:12 PM

that would be true for current situation
though it'd be EXITING to see them again but please god no that can't be, could this situation be more funnier??

Posted by: DirtySyko Nov 3 2009, 07:15 PM

I hope this doesn't happen, or at least not yet anyway. Things need to die down first.

It's not true, http://bit.ly/4NoPL

I'm sort of glad it isn't true, I would just like to have Sugab4bes, but then again, the original Sugababes were great, even though they weren't that successful.

I'm really glad about this, I didn't want it to happen.

Warner denied that they have anything to do with it, they didn't deny that the original 'babes are reforming.

Something is definitely going to happen, and I absolutely can't wait for it. It's about time Britain got a fresh and exciting girl group again. biggrin.gif

What Island should do is start negotiaations with Mutya Siobhan and Quiche to reform the original sugababes under the sugababes name. 4.0 is clearly imploding they probably cant milk much out of them, expecially with 1 member being bat$h!t crazy, another being a desperate eurovison "star" and one being Beige. But a 1.0 or even a 2.0 reunion would have people talking (positively, that is). Of course Mutya and Quiche probably would want nothing to do with Beige.

If they were to play it right a 1.0 reunion could work.

Posted by: Arrs Nov 3 2009, 09:17 PM

Yep, I can't understand why so many people don't want this reunion. I'm sure Sugas 1.0 music will be fresh and outstanding, not generic like 'Sweet 7' material. Of course, I'm interested in Keisha as in a solo act also, but all we know that she will probably flop in the way of Mutya.

Posted by: shakilover Nov 3 2009, 09:19 PM

I dont think quiche, or any sugababe for that matter will be big solo.

That's up to Crown really. Now that Keisha's been booted out they probably have complete control over everything that happens with Sugababes, everything that is said/done etc. They probably own the rights to the name Sugababes as well.

Basically Island can't do much in this situation besides offering the original babes a deal, which I'm not too sure will happen considering they already dropped Mutya once.

And I don't think they're the best record label either so..

Posted by: Annie-May Nov 3 2009, 09:44 PM

I am PRAYING the originals get together.

They'd each make more money & garner commercial success that way.

Posted by: khatib Nov 3 2009, 10:47 PM

i really hope its true.

Posted by: Silas Nov 4 2009, 02:24 AM

i really hope they'll do it.

It's gutting, but i can't see 4.0 lasting at all.

They made the single biggest mistake of their career by taking on Jade. Vocally she's not a patch on K, but she also has the Eurovision curse.

4.0 is f***ed.

Posted by: LaTyrouxn Nov 4 2009, 02:50 PM

How amazing would it be if they DID reform only to kick Siobhan out all over again? heehee.gif

Posted by: Silas Nov 4 2009, 04:22 PM

They didn't kick out Shiv, she 'went to the Loo' and got on a plane home from Japan and quit.

Both S an MutMut quit without tellin the other babes.

Yeah. Siobhan's exit is at the top for me with Naturi's of 3LW. They're hilarious.

Siobhan said "Be right back - need the loo" and escaped through the window. Naturi & the others were involved in a food fight and she walked out while brushing the chicken out of her hair.

Posted by: Annie-May Nov 5 2009, 06:24 PM

Can you imagine how good their music would sound now? Especially with their voices.

Each girl is so different, yet when they come together and sing it works really well.

Some guy I know said he spotted the ladies a few weeks ago together. So even if they don't reform, it's nice they're talking and making amends.

QUOTE
Exclusive: Rachel Adedeji to join the Sugababes

I know everyone is talking about the Sugababes reforming, but I have it for definite!

A source told me that Mutya Buena has approached Rachel Adedeji to join the reformed Sugababes.

Mutya – who was part of the original trio, which also included Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy – has been meeting with Siobhan about a possible reunion, and thinks Rachel would be the perfect third member for the group.

An insider said: “Mutya is a huge fan of ‘The X Factor’ and couldn’t believe it when Rachel was voted out last week.

“As soon as Rachel was voted off, Mutya was on the phone seeing if it would be possible to get Rachel to join her and Siobhan in a rival Sugababes group.”

Mutya left the Sugababes in 2005 to pursue a solo career, but is now keen to reunite with Siobhan to form a group to rival the new Sugababes – Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen.

Watch this space!

Posted by: Annie-May Nov 5 2009, 07:39 PM

Oh gosh. The ONLY way it would work if all three original members got together.

Mutya is looking so desperate. Next she'll be dragging someone in off the street.

Posted by: shakilover Nov 5 2009, 08:25 PM

OMG this $h!t is getting so crazy!

They might as well do it. They'd probably be more credible and likable than the splendababes.

Posted by: DirtySyko Nov 5 2009, 08:28 PM

Hopefully it won't happen.. now isn't exactly the right time for a reunion. You know, after all the drama and all.

A usually-reliable insider on PJ has said that this is definitely on and that they've signed with Warner. He doesn't specify whether Keisha is involved or not.

Posted by: Annie-May Nov 6 2009, 06:31 PM

Get that money, Siobhan!

But yeah...the only way it'd work is if Keisha was involved.

I can't wait to see Siobhan & Mutya together again singing.

*Listens to "Overload"*

Posted by: Just Plain Steve Nov 6 2009, 07:40 PM

TBH Mutya is seeming a bit desperate if true. Could you imagine, Mutya, Little Boots and Rachel join to make The Real Sugababes. As Keisha is concentrating on going solo and Siobhan doesn't want to work with an X Factor reject. rotf.gif

TBH i want all three originals or 2 of them and 1 solo or 3 solos.

It's not a proper reunion unless all 3 are involved..

And I can't see Keisha being a part of this.

Posted by: Annie-May Nov 8 2009, 07:26 PM

I wonder if Keisha is in or if it's Rachel. Hmm.

Posted by: Jark Nov 8 2009, 07:48 PM

It's not Rachel. The twitter account which claimed to confirm that rumour turned out to be fake and not run by Rachel at all, plus she's bound by the X Factor contract until March whereas the reformed group have already signed with Warner so it wouldn't be possible for her to be the third member. I reckon it's Keisha...

Posted by: Annie-May Nov 8 2009, 07:58 PM

It's gonna be so weird, yet fascinating, to see them all together again.

My friend down in London said he saw them a few weeks ago together getting along well, so even if nothing comes of it it's still nice to know they've put things behind them.

Posted by: The Next Babe Nov 10 2009, 03:37 PM

I can actually see tthis happening...

siobhan is broke
keisha is bitter
mutya is broke AND bitter

but will it be more than a novelty act? a 'f*** YOU RIGHT BACK' kind of thing? i hope not. i hope they come out with something compltely unexpected.

anyway i want keisha's solo album please!!

Posted by: Simon. Nov 10 2009, 03:38 PM

Keishas not bitter, shes excited about her solo project?

Posted by: Addicted2Suga Nov 10 2009, 04:14 PM

And Amelle and Keisha are on speaking terms, rebuilding their relationship? Keisha isn't for this thing, her management denied it including her anyway. So if the reunion did happen without her it definitely won't be the same. They're all better off solo, Mutya and Siobhan just need to get back to work with better labels.

Posted by: Annie-May Nov 10 2009, 05:09 PM

Siobhan isn't broke. She gets enough royalties to live a comfortable life.

I think the offer of solo deals aswell as a group is part of what will get Siobhan to sign on the dotted line.

I remember Melanie C saying the same thing in an interview about the Spice Girls (when she was promoting her then album)...... less than two months before they reformed.

What you have got to remember is that as an individual Keisha has a separate Record Company and management deal than the heavily rumoured "Original Sugababes" tie up that has been reported in the media in the last couple of days. Hence, she can't join her old bandmates without breaking her existing contracts which would cost her money in paying out compensation fees for promtional and recording costs for her solo material that she is working on.

So if I was a betting person, I reckon the reunion could easily happen .... but not until towards the end of 2010; until after Keisha has worked on and realised a debut solo album when she can then be a free agent if she wished.

As for today's reports saying that the Original Sugababes cannot use the name the Sugababes because it belongs to the Sugababes 4.0 management and record company that is true ..... but there would be next to nothing to stop the Original Sugababes reforming under a different name which includes the word Sugababes such as The Original Sugababes.

Posted by: Jösh Nov 18 2009, 08:21 PM

imo it would be an awful idea. laugh.gif I think they would flop big time, because imo Sugababes 1.0 were one of the worst line ups (even though all 3 are the best vocalists/songwriters), but the songs they made were downright crap.

Posted by: Annie-May Nov 18 2009, 08:23 PM

^ Yes.

And they could even perform half of their singles if they wanted. They could get around that in a sly way by announcing them as covers. As long as they don't release, they'll be fine...won't they?

Posted by: Silas Nov 18 2009, 08:28 PM

They were 14/15 when they wrote the original tracks.

Hence the line in overload 'Skipping school goin on a walk for air, i just gotta get outta there....'

Sad this isn't going to happen, I believe her. When she announced it on Twitter, I sent her a tweet saying how it could have been amazing and she replied with ":-) For the right reasons, yes xxx". I think the reunion had been properly considered by the girls, but they decided it was based on spite and making the other girls feel uneasy. (which is probably true) Still, it'd be good to see one day, I just think the present is the best time for it, being the 10 year anniversary after all.

@Aaron - i think they haven't ruled it out. I think Keisha wants to go it alone for a little bit to have that experience before gettin back with the girls.

When we first heard the news Keisha got kicked out & the rumours of a 1.0 reunion were spreading, everyone was sure it wouldn't happen because Siobhan & Keisha weren't talking. 6 weeks later and they've started to patch most things up and are having coffee together.

I think there's still a chance of a reunion happening. It just looks as though Keisha is contract binded & waiting on her solo career first.

I have to say, seeing them all together again - whether it's as the original line-up or not - would be really interesting. Each girl is so different and the last time we saw them together was close to 10 years ago. Siobhan's got this weird, Elizabethan style going on, Keisha's looking all glamourous and Mutya looks awful lately...but yeah. I'd love to hear them sing together. Even if it was just a one off. Siobhan's doing the alternate/Kate Bush type of music, Mutya's soulful and Keisha's pure R&B. They've all improved tremendously over the years, too.

Imagine an empty stage with nothing but screaming fans. Suddenly, the intro to "Overload" starts. The screen starts up and there's a video montage with pictures included of 1.0. Then Siobhan steps out and sings her verse. The crowd goes insane. Then Mutya and Keisha walk out like divas and start singing the chorus and the crowd goes MAD. All ladies dressed in some hot designer $h!t. There's smoke on the stage, dancers, etc.

Ahhhhh, I'm getting too excited now.

Posted by: Sugarush Nov 19 2009, 06:55 PM

I too would love a reunion but now it doesn't look like it will happen, well not yet anyway.. which is all good because now isn't really the time for a reunion because of all the drama the last 2 months.

I hope there's a reunion in a year or so time.. happy.gif

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever Nov 19 2009, 07:02 PM

YA i think it would be great if it does happen and who knows what may happen next year, if they did though it will be weird for them as they cant use the sugababes name, even though they are the sugababes.

You don't know if they are the same as before. All the girls have changed. Look at Keisha for example ....

I'm basing my opinion on their recent vocal efforts ('Ghosts', 'Real Girl' and 'C&S'). Improved vocals and I'm more than positive they'd be able to sort their harmony out.

And yes, that's true. But Siobhan is so left-field and weird, Keisha's glam and Mutya's in the middle somewhere. It'd be interesing to see.

As soon as Keisha's solo contract is up she'll be running to join them. I'm pretty sure that's the only thing that's stopping her at the moment.

I look forward to hearing 1.0's amazing future output and have faith they will not let us down.

Oh no. I loved Sugababes 1.0. One Touch is one of my favourite Sugababes albums, but I'm not looking forward to a reunion. That'll only bring more haters to the Sugababes and alot of Suga 4.0 loons will hate the Saltybitches (let's just assume the new 1.0 will call themselves Saltybitches.)

But I predict a flopping Keisha and then she will probably turn to Siobhan and Mutya.

It would be great to see the original Sugababes reform, but I would like to see how Keisha does solo first. tongue.gif

I would just like to say that Heidi may aswel be an original. After The sugababes first album One Touch, London Records dropped the band because only 1 single out of 4 that were released only made top 10. Overload-6, New Year-12, Run for Cover-13, Soul Sound-30. The band only started getting real success when Heidi Joined the band and the were signed to Island/Universal

Ok just said i would mention it haha

Posted by: Annie-May Feb 26 2010, 10:37 AM

And what? All of the ORIGINALS hard work in getting the group on its' feet, the critical acclaim they received and everything else they achieved should be ignored?

Heidi didn't help create the group. She joined on their second album thus she isn't an original. Just because she was there when they exploded (and to be honest, it could have been any girl. The material/production was much more mainstream) doesn't give her (or anyone) the right to discredit Siobhan and everything she brought to the table, because if it wasn't for her Heidi wouldn't have had a group to join in the first place!

Posted by: ms09 Feb 26 2010, 02:59 PM

1.0 didn't get any critical acclaim other than Overload and they didn't write. Also they were put together. You also can't say Heidi could of been any girl 'cus she wasn't and she was one of reasons they became massive

Posted by: StateOfMind Feb 26 2010, 03:10 PM

''They didn't write''? Excusez-moi. They wrote or co-wrote 9 songs on One Touch. That is alot more than the Sugababes are writing nowadays.

Posted by: StateOfMind Feb 26 2010, 03:11 PM

Also they got great critical acclaim. (Maybe you oughta do a little more research).

Posted by: Steve evets Feb 26 2010, 03:14 PM

I think he was saying they didn't write Overload.

TBH i don't know why people say Heidi is an original. IMO she is more of a Sugababe than Siobhan and Mutya though but she isn't an original.

Posted by: Annie-May Feb 26 2010, 03:16 PM

Yes they did. They were often praised by critics for their lyrics, vocal performances - both live and in studio and the album - for the most part - gained good reviews. And um, they wrote the majority of their album. WTF?

And as for Heidi being one of the reasons they blew up - please. You think everyone said "Wow. I have to go out and buy this song because of this new unknown girl that has just joined"? Yeah, right. No one knew who the hell she was and she sure as hell didn't help them explode because of her fantastic vocals. The reason they blew up was because they had better material + better promotion aswell as timing and a better team of people behind them. Like I said, it could have been any girl singing on "Freak Like Me" and that song STILL would have shot to number one.

Posted by: Propilot87 Feb 26 2010, 03:39 PM

Even though New Year and Run For Cover missed the top 10 they still had pretty decent sales for the positions they acheived, last i saw New Year had done 75k and RFC 58k, but i imagine both totals have increased since then. Also didnt Run For Cover give the album a second wind of sales?

Posted by: ms09 Feb 26 2010, 03:54 PM

Further proof that the major labels think American kids are stupid: The Sugababes debut album arrives on these shores with dubiously glossed-up cover art and a drastic MTV make-over for the unusually credible teenage threesome. Never mind, the music on One Touch still remains vital and raw; like a downtown version of TLC or All Saints without the gargantuan studio budget. Lead-off track "Overload" is a pulsating, cool-headed R&B concoction, while the title track sounds more deep, down and dirty than anything that has appeared on pop radio in recent memory. Scour the import bins for the original unfiltered version. Other girl groups will look utterly lightweight in comparison.
QUOTE
Great pop is all in the detail. A great hook, a great look and a great gimmick can all help, but at the end of the day the difference between great pop and the seemingly endless pop conveyor belt of Record Co. Inc. in West London is an elusive thing? Great pop is harder to make than great rock, great indie, great dance... great anything, but when Sugababes sulked on to Saturday morning kids TV a few months ago with the 'no-smiles, no dancing, no-smiling, no sh*t' non-performance that was 'Overload', the birth of an important pop band was posted in all the right places.

Siobhan, Mutya and Keisha - a great hand in a game of Scrabble - are a pop trio so young that bumping into label-mates All Saints at London Records must be like bumping into your mum down the shops on Saturday morning when you're with your mates. The music? Oh the music is just magnificent. Sugababes sing like angels - angels who've earned their wings listening to TLC and SWV not the Spice Girls.

'Overload' was the most extraordinary debut pop single since Fine Young Cannibal's 'Johnny Come Home' - a twisted, pumped up stripped down pop song thats attention to detail - the now obligatory sound of a dust-laden stylus, the bass note rising on the intro as the snare kicks in, the bonkers guitar solo and the angst ridden tale of school girl lust - marked it out as the year's most original pop hit single by a city mile.

And there's plenty more where that came from. Using a backing band who appreciate that an acoustic guitar will always be more effective than a Vocoder, that jazz chords compliment sweet vocals - especially so when they are this sweet - 'One Touch' will terrify the competition. The fact that this is only stage one in the trio's plan for pop world domination makes it doubly impressive.

By the time the acoustic latin thrum of 'Just Let It Go', which puts Craig David's own impressive unplugged performances of 'Seven Days' to shame, grinds itself into your brain, it's clear that these girls aren't looking to usurp Atomic Kitten or S Club 7. Hell, they've got TLC at their best in their sights and nothing less will do. Gotcha.

'Look At Me' will probably be the last time Sugababes can claim to be daddy's little girls - a sweet anthem to a life they are already fast leaving behind, while 'One Touch' arrives courtesy of the coolest jazz guitar intro of the new millennium and a call to kick off the past and move on up - brilliant, smouldering stuff.

If it's more straight ahead funky soul you're after then we got that too. 'Real Thing' harks back to classic 80s jazz funk and leads us neatly into 'Overload''s follow up, and the very the seasonal 'New Year'. Not as wired or skewed as the debut, but amusingly adding that old stylus again, this sweet Xmas single simply shows how well these girls can sing - not shout, not dance - sing. It won't knock Westlife off top spot at the end of December but it shows they can compete on more than one level.

'One Touch' is being released very early on in Sugababes' career. Chances are some of you out there still haven't heard much of the girls. You will. At the risk of giving them the musical equivalent of shin-splints by putting them in the first team too early, this record announces the arrival of potentially one of the most important new groups for many years. If they carry on singing this well, we'll even forgive them for not talking to us!

And that's just two in the space of five minutes. You didn't look hard.

Couple of things, we have a pinned thread for singles so everyone here is well aware of how the One Touch era went.

Next, the band got a brit nomination for Overload, despite it's missing the top5.

London Records dropped them because the album did poorly, not the singles

[Someone mentioned the albums second wind] It came after the Brit nomination and around the time of RFC a double whamy lifting it to a new peak position.

The band had success when Heidi joined because Freak was a f***ing amazing song. Anyone would have had a hit with it. Everything about it was amazing and why they need to work with Richard X again [well 1.0 should when they comeback]

They were amazingly critically acclaimed. Most journalists were stunned that they were a pop group that could actually sing live. Their non-stage schooled style was also praised as well as the amazingly raw music. Writing 9/12 track on your debut when your 14/15 is a f***ing amazing feat.

The girls were not thrown together, i don't know what trash you've been reading, perhaps the GA loon version of events. Siobhan's manager [who became the babes first manager] met Mutya's dad in a supermarket, somehow the conversation turned to singing. Mutya's dad quite rightly mentioned his daughters f***ing sublime vocals and RonTom mentioned Siobhan. There was a meeting of the minds and the two girls started to record in a studio. Sugababes 1.0Beta was formed. They thought there was something, or rather someone missing. One day when Mutya brought her best mate Keisha to the studio with her she was asked if she could sing, she said yeah. Sang something [i can't remember what] and wowed them. Sugababes 1.0 was born rather naturally. This was in 1998 when the girls were just at high school. They spent two years writing and recording [Recording at first, they got signed by London, then they decided they wanted to write] and released Overload in late 2000.

I hate when people down play Mutya's and Siobhan's involvement in the band. Without either of them the ENTIRE band would not exist. It was Shiv's manager and Mutya's dad that kickstarted the band. They both play a hugely important role in the bands history. Heidi never will be an original babe and she should get over that fact. I may have fallen in love with 2.0 but that doesn't make her an original nor does it take away siobhans hugely important contribution.

OK, well this is what the sticker on my CDcase of OT says

''An irresistable R&B/Pop crossover that bristles with class, it's (yeah that typo is really on the sticker) looped beats and soulful vocals unlike anything in recent memory'' NME
''A debut album of a class beyond their years'' Time Out
''A Fantastic album... with enough style, attitude and originality to mesmerise us all'' The Guardian
''The classiest new pop act of the year'' Music Week

And I would like to use this opportunity to ask you guys what 'Lush Life' means. It's my favorite song from the album (well, I like One Foot In equally) and I never figured out what it really means (i'm Dutch).

We aren't talking about 3.0. They are irrelevant to the topic at hand.

And excuse me. Like I said, it was a quick job and I just copied and pasted. I'm sure there are many more from music critics all over if you REALLY wanted to find them.

Stop trying to discredit everything 1.0 brought to the table, man. You don't have to like the members, but as a fan you should at least respect everything they achieved. I'm sure had it not been for 'One Touch', the girls maybe wouldn't have got a deal with Island. Had it not been for 'One Touch', they wouldn't have got Richard X on board. Like it or not, that album opened doors for the girls in order to carry on and achieve the success they did with 'Angels...' (and everything else). The girls setting up the group & Siobhan leaving made it possible for Heidi, Amelle and Jade to take over. Remember - without Siobhan, without Keisha and without Mutya there would be no group for Heidi to claim she was an original member of.

Here are some facts about Keisha Buchanan, Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena.
Story filed Friday, 06 January 2012

This is all so stupidly amazing that we are going to have to do it in bullet points in an attempt not to just BREAK DOWN AND CRY.

Here goes.

» Keisha Buchanan, Siobhan Donaghy and Mutya Buena all used to be in the Sugababes, then one by one they left.

» When Keisha was the last original member to leave the band in 2009 there were some brief murmurings about some sort of reunion, but it was felt that the time wasn't quite right.

» They met up last year and decided that they would get back together to see how it went.

» It's going quite well as it happens.

» Emeli Sandé, MNEK, Asterix, Craze & Hoax, Tanika, Mojam and Naughty Boy are some names that should be considered pertinent to the whole 'what will their new material sound like' question.

» Sadface: they have not recorded with Xenomania.

» Happyface: XENOMANIA ARE IN THE DIARY.

» Just as excitingly so is Cameron 'Most Of The Best Songs On One Touch' McVey.

» They are being managed by Felix Howard. The main thing you need to know about Felix Howard is that he wrote THIS and THIS.

» The Pro Green tweets last night may have been a bit of a red herring - they were basically just in the same building.

» They are not called Sugababes (because they can't be and let's face it probably don't want to be although following Mutya's trademark victory they could do some nice serviettes with that name on if they wanted). We'll call them Origababes for the time being, but it struck us over Christmas that One Touch has a nice ring to it. Anyway the point is that they are concentrating on the music bit rather than the name bit for the time being.

» There's no label (or publishers) yet, but they are - music biz 'parlance' alert - 'down the road' with three.

» They are, so we hear, "three very happy ladies".

*Breaks down and cries*

Posted by: Arrs Jan 6 2012, 05:18 PM

To be fair, I do really think that Siobhan is better off as solo. The comfortable situation for most would be 2.0 reunion with Siobhan, Amelle and Jade as solo. Maybe we'll see 2.0 again, who knows... At least in the fashion 'Original Babes (feat. Heidi Range)'. One can dream. I could have never thought that Siobhan and Keisha would work together, and now here it is!

Also it will be very weird for me to hear Siobhan in Xenomania or MNEK produced tracks, after 'Ghosts' and 'Revolution in Me'.

P.S. Siobhan follows Keisha but doesn't follow Mutya, DRAMA DRAMA!

Poor Heidi. Even if she wasn't the original 'Babe, she still is a big part of Sugababes fame sad.gif

I feel bad for her too but she chose Amelle, not Keisha. Oh well, nobody thought 1.0 would one day be happening again, so what's to say 2.0 is over? Maybe history will repeat itself from here on on.

Posted by: Arrs Jan 6 2012, 06:05 PM

There seems to be a huge conflict between Heidi and Mutya, up to the same scale as former Siobhan vs. Keisha conflict. Mutya even called Heidi 'a snake' a little bit after the Keishagate. And we won't know for what reason Heidi chose Amelle, it should be a VERY big one, as obviously Heidi understood the consequences of Keisha sacking.

Posted by: Steve D Jan 6 2012, 08:08 PM

A couple of things, can someone please make a banner for both bands please as i think that's only fair as 4.0 are actually Sugababes at the moment and we don't know a name for the three biatches but i like the idea of One Touch as a band name but i guess we should just call them Origababes for now. Also I am pissing myself with excitement of this news except one thing I do not want them working for hit making machines like Xenomania save that for Origababes 2.0 please.

PS. and the little profile thingy.

Actually peeing myself with excitement now. I am hoping some of Keisha's solo tracks like 'Carried Away' get used in the project, and they just get the other girls to do parts, if we are not getting the Queen's solo record. I need to hear a studio version of that IMIDIATELY and can't bare the idea of it not getting used ever.

Please, how sad is this. We've had for months proof that Keisha and Mutya were working on new music and I don't remember you saying it was 'not fair' that the banner only showed 4.0 members.

Now Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan is the only active line-up as the others are pursuing other projects and have confirmed they don't have any plans for the group. So deal with it.
When it can be said that the group has two active incarnations then it will be time to make a six-piece banner.

'scuse me?

Posted by: Silas Jan 7 2012, 02:22 AM

Ok, so to clear something up.

With Amelle confirmed to be working on solo and Heidi prancing about on an ice rink, THERE IS NO 4.0 TO TALK ABOUT. So in this situation the Sugababes we all currently are interested in is 1.0 and thus they shall be the forum banner. Just as the dominant line-up always has been even when Mutya and Siobhan were solo and releasing during 3.0. HELL Mutya was #2 in the UK charts and we had a 3.0 banner. This is precedence and we shall be proceeding as such. When the Sugariginals decide on their new name this shall be a forum for both of the bands as they have a deeply linked history. In the event that both bands are releasing music as 1.0 and as 4.0 then and only then shall we have a 6 member banner.

This is not the time nor place to bring up the age old argument of the 3.0 split or that you 'don't like them' (looking at you for that last one mr.everything! We know you don't like 1.0, now change the record.)

This thread is to discuss the reunification of the original members of what was (until 2009) the saviour of pop music.

This is all I shall say on the matter. The banner is non-negotiable. 4.0 have no plans to release anything, nor are they doing anything as a group entity thus it shall be treated as a reverse of before with all their solo projects discussed and the banner being the line-up actually releasing music. (At this moment of time that happens to be 1.0, not 4.0. It really doesn't matter what the Sugariginals call themselves, everyone will refer to them as the Real Sugababes anyway.)

Happy? No? Well that's just tough.

Posted by: Silas Jan 7 2012, 02:40 AM

That popjustice post is actually making me Squee for joy.

I approve fully of them being managed by someone who was involved in One Touch, I also HIGHLY approve of the producers list. Xenomania and Cameron McVey especially. I very much like the idea that they are recording then going to a label, which is how they did One Touch, and the news that they have three after them is outstanding. (Island must be at least one of them given their history and iirc the label head is their former A&R guy)

All in all I am absolutely fucking delighted.

Now if you'll excuse me I going to go stick One Touch on repeat for the next 6months.

I'm a bit confused due to the different posts I've read on here. Are the Sugababes continuing with the latest line up or first line up of members?

Posted by: Atonement Jan 7 2012, 04:18 PM

The latest line-up is continuing under the name Sugababes (although with the way things are now they seem to be on a hiatus - they're all doing they're own thing (Amelle's working on a solo album)). The original line-up has reformed and they are making music as we speak but they will not be called the Sugababes.
I think this is what we know as of now.

Even if the Sugababes do make another new album under the older members, I cant see it doing well now. There have been so many different lineup changes over the years, it's been really confusing for the general public to keep up with this group. Also, most bands have a typical life cycle of about 5 years and they kinda peaked with push the button era and then started to drop off, so I think it will be hard to come back now. I'd love to see them record something else again and reinvent themselves as the group were definately at their best during taller in more ways era.

Posted by: Liаm Jan 22 2012, 02:12 PM

QUOTE
Fresh details surrounding the original Sugababes reunion have emerged.

It was reported earlier this month that Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy were working on new material together, but Buena subsequently denied the claims.

However, it has since been alleged that the band recorded a track called 'Love Like This', written by Emeli Sandé and produced by Naughty Boy, at an Ealing recording studio last week and are putting together a comeback album.

The song is said to be reminiscent of the Sugababes' early work and includes the lyrics: "Won't hold my breath again, I still remember when I gave you my heart and it turned out irrelevant. Back on the medicine, back in the thick of it, it's here in the room but we don't talk about the elephant."

"The song is about not being used to being loved because you have been hurt so many times before, and that you think you have been loved before but in reality you haven't," a source told the Sunday Mirror.

"The girls are very much back to their soulful roots but this time around it's far more innovative. They've recorded more tracks too - and they're working hard to get a body of new work.

"Siobhan has left her job in the City and they are concentrating on getting material together for an album. They are very dedicated and it's working well."

Three major labels are apparently interested in signing the reformed group and new manager Felix Howard, co-writer of debut single 'Overload', will help secure them a record deal once they have enough material.

Buchanan wants to release her solo work before the group unveil their new album, the report adds.

Buchanan's spokesperson recently told Digital Spy: "Keisha has been working on a number of exciting projects both old and new.

"She is in the final stages of completing her much-awaited solo album and believes her fans will be equally excited with what's to come."

w00t.gif An Emeli Sande sound would be PERFECT. Something like Heaven or Daddy would be amazing for them!

Posted by: Atonement Jan 22 2012, 02:19 PM

omg an elephant in the room reference. I love that idiom.
I would really want them to reclaim the name Sugababes. I know that name is pretty worthless right now anyway, but still, it's their name and then they could continue the names string of hits.

Emeli Sandé confirms working with original Sugababes
Published Thursday, Jan 26 2012, 10:10 GMT | By Lewis Corner |

Emeli Sandé has confirmed that she has written a track for the original Sugababes lineup.

The singer-songwriter revealed that she was happy to be working with Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy because she "loved their sound".

Sandé told MTV News: "I've written for the original lineup of the Sugababes, which I'm very happy about because I just loved them when they first came out.

"I loved their sound, it was so cool. It was very different, so I'm happy to kind of be involved in what started the whole Sugababes journey. It sounds amazing."

The original lineup have yet to officially confirm their reunion, but it has been reported that they will have to come up with a new name as they no longer own the rights to use Sugababes.

MNEK, Asterix, Craze & Hoax, Tanika, Mojam and Naughty Boy are all rumoured to have contributed to the girl group's new album.

^^ Well, it does sounds suspicious...why the need to say they're at Sony? The people who follows that person must know where he/she is working!

And the 'it's happening!' bit? we are way past that stage.
It's like he/she was trying to answer to the current mysteries about them.

QUOTE
They were just walking past it!

It's just that I don't fully understand what they're referring to...an 'office' can mean the entire floor or just the room/desk inside the DS office. So they could've just been in the same building as DS' office and going somewhere else, or they could've gone to be interviewed by someone at DS and the other workers saw them walking through the department.

Posted by: Silas Mar 6 2012, 06:56 PM

Or they could have just been walking past the office building.

Posted by: tommie Mar 6 2012, 07:35 PM

To be honest, reading the timelines of some of the people I've quoted it sounds likely that they were headed out to grab lunch or something mundane like that. Apparently they were with "a bloke and a toddler", so I assume the toddler is Mutya's kid and the bloke might be whatever producer they're working with or Felix Howard or something.

The tweet from the woman who said they were at Sony came a few hours later.

Edit: the tweets:

robin turner ‏ @robinturner Close
@sluttyfringe heading to that pub at the end I think

robin turner ‏ @robinturner Close
@Marvin100 they looked pretty relaxed as it goes. We're (sic) with a bloke and a toddler.

So, that's approx three months which fits in the timeline we've been given. We should expect something late May then!

Posted by: Silas Mar 14 2012, 07:50 PM

Fits in with the 'summer' vaugeness that Mutya and Keisha have both been giving.

Also, also, also! HOW FUCKING EXCITING.

Don't think I have ever been so excited about an album let alone one that doesn't officially exist yet!

12 WEEKS!

Posted by: tommie Mar 15 2012, 01:58 PM

If they've already started doing interviews, then an announcement must be nearer than we think. I imagine it's actually a SINGLE that's being released in 12 weeks, which is why Siobhán was so specific.

We could hear an Origibabes track sooner rather than later...

LESS THAN TWO MONTHS. I love that Siobhán is giving specific timelines.

This must mean they're almost finished recording and are starting to think of a possible tracklisting...

Posted by: Martyn Mar 22 2012, 08:11 PM

I have decided I wish for them to use the Sugababes name. Ignore all my previous views on the subject.

Posted by: Silas Mar 22 2012, 08:12 PM

As your signature is completely GODLY I think we can find the space in our hearts to do just that laugh.gif

Posted by: Vee Mar 22 2012, 08:20 PM

But will they be allowed to (if they decided to got for it)? Didn't v 4.0 won when Mutya tried to get the rights for it?

I assume Crown owns the name now?

Posted by: Arrs Mar 22 2012, 08:28 PM

It's Island who owns the name, and apparently Crown/4.0 are just licensing it. Or whatever. But the owners are Island.

Posted by: Silas Mar 22 2012, 08:42 PM

With 4.0 effectively split up I can see Island jumping at the chance to get 1.0 on board including handing them back the name.

Island would benefit hugely from this reunion as it's certain to spark interest in One Touch and the rest of the bands back catalogue. (More so the now Island owned rights to One Touch)

I don't think that's the case...they do own the rights over the brand 'London Records', but not its back catalogue, as it was sold to Warner.

Posted by: Silas Mar 23 2012, 02:36 PM

When Island signed 2.0 they bought the rights to One Touch and the stuff they did with London. Iirc that is.

Posted by: Arrs Mar 23 2012, 05:06 PM

I'm not sure, I assumed that they were licensing 'Overload' and 'Run for Cover' but didn't own the rights? I'm sure Island had some issues regarding that.

If Warner are holding the rights for the first Sugababes album they might be lucky cows in the future...

Posted by: Vee Mar 23 2012, 06:05 PM

Then what did v 4.0 win then? Just the right to use it as a band? But they don't own it?

Who decides when they stop having that right? They didn't officially split up (they just don't have a record deal right now and are deluded enough to hope someone will sign them again).

From the Mirror:

QUOTE
Bidding war over reformed original Sugababes album

The rebirth of the original Sugababes continues to gather pace.

Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy are currently in final negotiations over a new record deal after a bidding war broke out between a handful of UK record labels.

They’ve hired PR heavyweights Outside Edge – run by Britney Spears’ guru Shoshanna Stone – to promote them.

And my sources also tell me that plans for Keisha to release solo material ahead of the girls bursting back on the scene have been put on hold.

“Keisha’s put everything on the back burner with regards to her solo record. The girls have got together and they’ve produced the best music they’ve ever done,” my music industry mole reveals.

“To say everyone is excited about this comeback is an understatement. They’re going to take over the girl band scene with the new record.”

But they have one big decision to make yet – what to call themselves, as their manager holds the rights to the original moniker. The source adds: “They still don’t have a name. It can’t be Sugababes so they’ve got their thinking caps on.”

Posted by: Atonement Mar 25 2012, 06:19 PM

Aargh I so want them to have the name. The name should live on sad.gif

Posted by: tommie Mar 25 2012, 06:21 PM

A bidding war? 4.0 could never...

I'm surprised that they haven't signed with a label yet though, but I guess they're REALLY gunning for a good contract.

Posted by: Neil Mar 25 2012, 06:52 PM

The whole 'Sugababes' thing is such a strange situation. You can argue equally points for them to keep the name and points for them not to keep the name.
I personally do not see them as 'Sugababes' any more, but it would be so bizarre for them not to release under that name.

Posted by: The47thbelmon Mar 25 2012, 06:53 PM

QUOTE(tommie @ Mar 25 2012, 07:21 PM) *

Well, they seem to have a quite definitive release schedule (first single in May, album in September according to Siobhan) so I would say they must be either in the very final stages of the negotiation or it doesn't really affect to the campaign. Sounds like they've got full control over the production of the album and won't use any of the resources the label could get them in terms of producers.

Posted by: Silas Mar 25 2012, 08:59 PM

Bidding war does back up what we've heard before that they were recording the album then shopping it as a finished product to labels. Giving the girls mass control over it which is more along the lines of what Siobhan had for Ghosts, what Mutya would have probably desired after being burned by Crown/Island throughout the Real Girl era and what Keisha would have liked after having no control during Sweet7 (and we all know that K is someone who likes control.)

They better go to a good label. Complete with solo deals.

Posted by: The47thbelmon Mar 26 2012, 12:21 PM

QUOTE

My guess is that the label willing to make additional solo deals is the one that already owns some back catalogue of them. So they would take the risk with those deals, but they would also benefit from the new sales of One Touch and Revolution In Me (Warner) or Sugababes 2.0/3.0, Ghosts and Real Girl (Island/Universal).

Posted by: Vee Mar 26 2012, 01:06 PM

I don't mean to sound bitchy but it's so ironic that there's a bidding war over v 1.0. I'm glad Heidi and Amelle can't get a record deal as a band. I really really hope now Heidi realizes the mistake she made by choosing the trouble-maker and being naive enough to think people would still support them. They got what they deserved (except Jade, I feel bad for her cause she seems so nice) but Heidi and Amelle totally deserve to be in the position they are now.

Back on topic - I really hope they consider One Touch as a possibility.

Posted by: Slick Mar 26 2012, 01:36 PM

I think 'One Touch' would be a superb name!

Posted by: Silas Mar 26 2012, 05:13 PM

It would be brilliant. Something 1.0 related is a must though as they'll benefit HUGELY from the strength of the 1.0/2.0 material.

Posted by: Arrs Mar 26 2012, 05:22 PM

To be fair, the only name I properly accept for 1.0 is Sugababes. And I _still_ hope for some miracle...

Posted by: Atonement Mar 26 2012, 05:49 PM

Me too. I don't like One Touch as a name even though it's a reference to their album. I really don't know what would fit them.. If they can't have the Sugababes I want a spin-off name.

Posted by: AaronTM Mar 26 2012, 11:42 PM

Other than 'Sugababes' (which doesn't appear to be happening for obvious reasons), 'One Touch' is the only name for them I think I'd be pleased with. I don't want a spin-off or different take on the Sugababe name - something like Origibabes would be awful, tacky and potentially credibility damaging - it just has to be One Touch.

Posted by: Martyn Mar 27 2012, 12:51 AM

They could just call them selves Sugafree

Posted by: gooddelta Mar 27 2012, 10:45 AM

I like the One Touch idea but could they not just call themselves Sugababes* or Suga_babes or something, i.e. a slightly different spelling/presenation but the same pronunciation? Or just Suga?

Posted by: Silas Mar 28 2012, 05:39 PM

Posted by: tommie Mar 29 2012, 01:20 PM

You know, hearing Mel Blatt's comments re: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN5bWw6T5JU makes me happy that Keisha, Siobhan and Mutya seems to be taking things at their own pace instead of trying to force something. While there's of course always money as motivation behind these type of reunions, I really do think All Saints did it for all the wrong reasons which is part of why it all fell apart so quickly.

Hell, even if it worked out it seems like they were doomed to repeat the same mistakes as Shaz once again seemed to be the main contributor for Studio One and that was seemingly a big issue back in the day. I'm rambling a bit, but at least 1.0 seem determined NOT to repeat history, otherwise they would've just taken the deals that were offered back in 2009.

Posted by: Silas Mar 29 2012, 04:17 PM

OMG WHAT A LEGEND SHE IS!

I too am far happier that they put their past behind them first, then agreed they felt they had unfinished business, slowly starting to work together in a studio together for the first time in over a decade to see if they had that same spark they had first time around and if they had something to give before even beginning to think about an album never mind a label.

Well, it's not that surprising. Of course Keisha is not going to claw their eyes out when she sees them and will probably put up a nice front, but really - Heidi and Amelle more or less betrayed her. The group was never going to split, it's obvious that they "split up" so that they could get Keisha out. I bet at least Heidi always knew that they were going to bring in Jade, otherwise they literally would not have started filming the video the minute Keisha stepped on the plane home.

As much as Siobhán's said not-very-nice-things about her, that all happened when they were teenagers and Siobhán left and didn't try to pull anything shady. The implosion of 3.0 happened when they were all adults, so I think those are wounds that might never be healed.

I'm not convinced by that jacket...

So they are definitely doing interviews then. An official announcement can't be too far. Even if Keisha is doing it on her own, there is no way she's giving an interview without giving more details about the album.

I'd love a midtempo from them. Situations Heavy part II!

As much as I would have liked to see them back at Island, they weren't exactly good to Mutya. No Island and No Crown should hopefully mean good promo, good single choices and just good in general. The three of them have enough experience to call the shots really so I am expecting awesomeness.

I just want 4.0 to quit and go solo permanently. Amelle and Jade deserve solo success but the original Sugababes deserve their name back. It's a shame that they can't be known as Sugababes anymore, they'll always be known as Sugababes to me!

Posted by: J-o-e Jul 2 2012, 04:17 PM

I really dont get why people think they deserve the name back, Keisha does at a push. Siobhan left, Mutya left and with it they left the name behind, they made that choice. I want Siobhan to have success as I love her but this whole reunion seems so forced.

I agree with this completely. Heidi deserves the name more than both Mutya and Siobhan and arguably Amelle does too (definitely over Siobhan anyway). Therefore, when they left the band as you say, they left the name behind too - they can't just swan back in and demand it back again.

I do hope they go with the name One Touch though, I really like that.

That's a good point! It would be very unfair on Heidi in particular though seeing as she is the 2nd longest-serving member now I think. And the Sugababes are still rightly Heidi, Amelle and Jade as it was the originals' choices to leave (except Keisha possibly).

Anyway, I hope they go with One Touch for their name, it does seem fitting for them! biggrin.gif

Any more news since it was revealed that we should hear something in the next 2-10 weeks?

Posted by: Silas Jul 2 2012, 10:10 PM

I don't give a flying fuck if it's 'harsh on Heidi'. Without Siobhan she would still be a bloody WAITRESS in Liverpool. The Sugababes are rightly Siobhan, Keisha and Mutya.

As for 'choosing' to leave: Siobhan had clinical depression (left after being bullied out of the band), Mutya had post-partem depression and was then forced out by the management. So basically, both of them were pushed out.

No more news that I've heard.

LOL Amelle is just a random girl the label/management hired to sing in a similar tone to Mutya's, that's her only accomplishment. She had minimal input in the music and her entrance marks the period when the group had the least control over their work.

Siobhan created the music, tone and imagery that Keisha, Mutya and Heidi would develop. That mere fact gives the originals some primary rights over the name. As the group has ceased any activity (unless you believe they are really recording now eyeing an end-of-2013 release) there is absolutely no reason for them to not taking back their name.

As for Heidi, she took her decision. She decided who she would team up with in the future: Keisha and Mutya or Amelle and another girl. If that drove the group into the deep ruin she has to face it and step aside.

According to Wotyougot there's a non-single coming out in August (free download? Vinyl release? YouTube video release a la Marina's Fear & Loathing?) with the proper single coming out in October.

And with that I give you Teacher Donaghy:

Posted by: AaronTM Jul 19 2012, 12:46 AM

Oh dear. If this is true, I really hope the name gets shortened to MKS. Surely they just wouldn't go with Mutya Keisha Siobhan as a group name?!

Posted by: Slick Jul 19 2012, 12:58 AM

This choice DOES seem pretty ridiculous. It's uninspired, unimaginative, boring, a mouthful... just BAD.

Posted by: The47thbelmon Jul 19 2012, 10:38 AM

I think it's the best option after 'Sugababes'. They focus the attention on themselves, breaking the thought of 'there've been so many replacements I don't know who they are anymore'.

As tommie has pointed out, you can replace a 'Sugababe', but not a 'Siobhan'. It draws perfectly the difference between them and the group.

So yeah, I think it's pretty smart on their behalf not to use any band name.

Posted by: dannjohn3 Jul 19 2012, 11:01 PM

I prefer it as one word: MutyaKeishaSiobhan... but MKS is better.

I'll discuss it with others, but considering the Sugababes ARE still a thing and have 7 albums to their name to date that's probably not going to happen (I don't really give a shiz about WHO was on each album tbh.) Mutya Keisha Siobhan are as much a solo pursuit as Beyonce & Kelly Rowland in the Destiny's Child forum.

22 pages consisting of 20 pages of speculation and rumours and Keisha's oh so subtle tweets then 2 pages of OMG after the first official photos and name/company etc would suggest we'll be fine outside the pop forum.

Poor Siobhan. You can see the unhappiness in her eyes about Keisha stealing her icecream. I recken there will be hairpulling soon.

You're not really ALL THERE are you? All I've seen from you is a load of pessimistic, antagonistic and borderline rude posts, especially regarding 'MKS'. I don't think they'd work together if they hadn't moved on from the past, so it's probably about time you did too. There's a good lad.

While there obviously was a problem between her and Keisha back in the day, I think just blaming Keisha for Siobhán's departure is a bit much.

Siobhán was on roaccutane, an acne medication known for having side-effects like depression. The "adults" around her let her down and she was reaching a breaking point - Keisha (who was a grumpy teenager herself at the time) was just the last straw.

At the end of the day, if Siobhán and Keisha can get over it to the point where they even socialise outside the recording studio, then why can't you?

Posted by: Slick Jul 25 2012, 07:53 PM

Somebody has already said it in this thread (although I forget who.) The girls were teenagers - maturing and hormonal and GIRLS on top of that who can be proper bratty bitches at that age. There is no reason why the three of them can't get along perfectly fine as adults. I'm not a big Keisha fan but the hating does get on my nerves rather.

Posted by: Silas Jul 25 2012, 08:55 PM

I dislike how Keisha gets the sole blame for Siobhan leaving when it was both Mutya AND Keisha that froze her out. She was the outsider hanging about with two best mates who were both slightly younger and therefore less mature. They acted like 14year old girls and that just added to the mass stress Siobhan was under already. Can you imagine being pulled from home/school aged 17 and suddenly be doing gigs all across the world. It must have been lonely for her.

(I think it was probably me André, I seem to say it once every few weeks at the moment laugh.gif)

You can forgive a bully. I have been through that and it changes you as a person. It makes you stronger and less likely to take shit. A DECADE on from when this all went down they sat together (as I said very very very recently) at a meeting chaired by Goddess Mutya and sorted it all out. Shit went down, but that stuff is only ever insurmountable if you are unwilling to let it go and move on. People can change an awful lot from when they were pubescent teenagers, none of us are the same people. We all grow up and mature at different rates and with the age gap it meant Siobhan was mentally a lot older than K/M at that time. Now they are all grown women who've all been through so much yet still have mountains in common.

After the clear the air meeting they did a couple of informal studio days to see if they actually still had that spark that caused One Touch to be just so good. No spark meant they wouldn't do it. Clearly they found the spark! After that they recorded an album and told labels 'this is what we've got to release do you want it?' There was no money involved until the project was done. It was made because after 14years they are still three exceptionally talented and beautiful women who make phenomenal music together because its what they love to do.

It just seems fake when she was calling Keisha a bitch still after Ghosts came out or around that time, I still stand by the fact that this reunion is for nothing more than the money.

That's not true though - she and Mutya originally started recording together and did a few demos together before Keisha was even in the picture.

Siobhán and Mutya never ever had a problem. In Siobhán's most recent solo interview she said she and Mutya bounded in the last few weeks before she left.

Was she calling Keisha a "bitch" though? She basically said she and Keisha didn't get on. It's hardly newsworthy stuff that two grumpy teenage girls are in a tiff.

Yes she really did, in some interview for some lesbian site she was asked about it and at the end they ask "would you say Keisha is a bitch" and she said she would. Also when Keisha got kicked out and she had an interview on Heart/2.10FM at the time and said it was Karma and now Keisha was out it might be the first album of theirs she buys.

Show me the receipts.

I'm guessing this is the interview you're referring to:

QUOTE
LoveGirls: Now Keisha and Mutya are no longer talking, is Keisha just a bitch?

Siobhan: Urm, maybe [laughs nervously]http://lovegirls.co.uk/articlecomments/42/Siobhan+Donaghy/

Hardly a straight answer, is it?

That never happened - Siobhán's last solo interview was with Ponystep just before Keisha was kicked out and that only happened because she's friends with some of the people behind it. That whole Heart interview is a huge hoax made up around the time Keisha was kicked out - Siobhán has never been one to talk to the press if she hasn't got anything to promote, so why would she have called into a radio station? And if she did, why didn't it make the press pick it up when KeishaGate was going? Simple - because it never happened.

Posted by: Mikal Jul 25 2012, 09:41 PM

I just watched an interview where she said she would never slag her off publicly... I don't think that's in Siobhan's nature. Anyway it's over now they're clearly OK with each other.

I do however have a feeling this will be a one off album, a bit like Destiny Fulfilled.

If she did the interview then prove it. PLEASE do.

Posted by: Mikal Jul 25 2012, 09:51 PM

I've gotta agree with Tommie here, all her interviews are from really small little websites/magazines and end up online, yet this one hasn't? I find that hard to believe. Happily proven otherwise though!

I swear I remember hearing it but cant find anything about it so I will give you that one, but I honestly dont see why your gettin so...strong about you're argument. For me Siobhan did say Keisha was a bitch in that interview whether it was insinuated or not it doesn't matter, I love Siobhan but I really dont see this reunion is genuine whatsoever, Mutya did'nt bother with Keisha until she got kicked out which just makes her seem like a fairweather friend, Siobhan was saying stuff about how Keisha bullied her throughout the whole ghosts campaign, which was still a good 7/8 years on..I just dont see how a few more years would have changed that. Its my opinion take it or leave it...

I'm well aware of how the band started and how/why Keisha was brought in.

I also know that a lot of what went down was Keisha and Mutya. They had a very tight bond that Siobhan could never break through. Mutya and Siobhan reconnected via myspace to put issues behind them, their's just weren't as big as the ones with Keisha.

Mutya and Keisha had a secret language that Siobhan wasn't allowed to speak and they would use it to talk about her. In my book that's not just Keisha, that's a pair of teenage girls acting like a pair of teenage girls in a situation where they are scared.

I'm fed up with this continual thing though. It doesn't matter why they are back or what went down in the past. What matters is that this truly amazing group is back together. I don't care if it's for one album or 20, the fact that I get to hear their voices together for the first time in a decade is absolutely incredible and something to be thankful for.

Keisha constantly said throughout 3.0 that she would like to be friends with her again if she would pick up the phone or something, she never said they had kept in contact. They even stated they started talkin after Keisha got kicked out like that was when Mutya decided to call her.

Because it annoys me that she's been tagged as saying something she didn't say. I was there when the Heart FM rumour started and no one has ever been able to provide any sort of source, even back when it was first claimed! At best they managed to cut together some quotes from an old interview with her - at worst it's completely made up by internet trolls.

Also, while Siobhán did say that she felt Keisha bullied her, she's also said that she feels no resentment against her and that they were teenagers when it all went down - she just never saw the point in reconciling with Keisha. They lived completely seperate lives and their only link was that they were in the same pop group a few years before. She (and most of the world) probably never expected the three of them being in this position where they were all out of the group.

Ironically, the only one who talked about the original line-up reforming at some point was Keisha herself in an ultra-awkward interview with Amelle.

Then they kept that quiet or she lied about it to interviewers because I rmemeber her saying what I stated in interviews whilst promoting C+S.
As for your post Tommie, Im a fan of Siobhan so its not like I'm trying to make her look bad but when you constantly talk about someone bullying you out the group, and I still stand by agreed she was a bitch, then Im pretty sure you dont like the person, like I said its my opinion if you wanna get angry and bothered then you need to get a grip.

The girls have "fired" their manager, or parted through mutual consent was the official reason. The papers seem to think that it was the girls who got rid of him, but of course we can't trust them all the time!

Here's the article on DS anyway: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a398879/mutya-keisha-siobhan-part-with-manager.html

Hope this unrest isn't a sign of things to come...

Posted by: Silas Aug 12 2012, 06:57 PM

I think this is a bit of a storm in a tea cup. Everyone seems to be overreacting because of the girls past history with revolving band members. They never fired a manager (they bloody should have) so for me, I think this shows more that they know what they want to do and are more willing to push to do things their way than actually be handled like they were with Crown.

Posted by: tommie Aug 13 2012, 12:23 PM

I always got the impression that they first got Felix involved in this because they've known him since they started and trusted him. I never got the impression he was ever in this for the long run as he doesn't really manage other acts in that capacity as a full manager would...
