 It's that time again! 2020, while a rocky year all round, has brought some really excellent music, so here's my take on it. There's a lot to count down as always, so here's what to expect: - Top 300 songs - An undetermined number of albums - An undetermined number of EPs (can Ruel make it a third consecutive year??) - Top 10 artists - The top songs + albums according to my personal chart points system - Top 35 TV shows (we'll be beginning with this as I'm waiting until at least the final New Music Friday of the year before working on my song ranking!) TV Shows: Top 35
     31 Michael McIntyre's The Wheel | Series 1 32 Julie and the Phantoms | Season 1 33 Strictly Come Dancing | Series 18 34 Britain's Got Talent | Series 14 35 EastEnders | N/A It's quite strange having to rank reality TV among scripted drama, so perhaps the reality shows have ended up somewhat lower, but we see a few here already. EastEnders kicks off the pile - a show I've watched for many years, and sure, it's had some fantastic moments this year! The anniversary week was brilliant, as was the Chantelle and Gray abuse storyline, but many episodes could be skipped with absolutely nothing missed and there are far too many deadweight characters right now. It's seen better days. BGT this year was a little soured by the pandemic and the final wasn't the strongest but it's always solid entertainment. Strictly on the other hand is just as enjoyable as always! Julie and the Phantoms is a brand new show that really excelled in its first season - funny, warm, and with plenty of room to grow in season 2 should it get renewed. Finally, Michael McIntyre's new game show The Wheel has kicked off as being some ridiculously funny entertainment! |

 first time I've watched it in years (mainly for HRVY oops x), and it's been a really great series! Glad to see that appear here *.*The Wheel  the first episode was hilarious and iconic, haven't watched since though!!

     26 Legacies | Seasons 1-2 27 The Stranger | Series 1 28 The Hit List | Series 2-3 29 The Great British Bake Off | Series 11 30 Big Brother Canada | Season 8 I couldn't really justify placing BBCan any higher than this in 2020 because the season was never finished - they pulled the plug due to COVID. It seems unusual at this stage after the US version went ahead, but the houseguests in BBCAN8 were inside the house at the start of the pandemic, and everything was new. It was a shame though as there were some very promising houseguests! I've never watched a full series of Bake Off before but 2020's was very fun, as is the BBC's game show The Hit List, starring Fake Showbiz News icons Rochelle and Marvin. The Stranger was a strong, gripping drama, and Legacies marks the first appearance from a Vampire Diaries-related show in this countdown (the criteria, by the way, is that any show can be included as long as I've watched at least one episode I've never seen before, so expect The Vampire Diaries to feature later despite it ending in 2017 as I'd never seen it before 2020!). Legacies is the least good of the three, but still strong and it's also the only one currently on air so it's keeping the show and characters alive in some way. |

     21 Family Fortunes | Series 1 22 Little Mix: The Search | Series 1 23 The Masked Singer | Series 1 24 Emmerdale | N/A 25 RuPaul's Drag Race | Season 12 I'd never watched a full series of Drag Race until the UK version in 2019, and it hooked me enough to watch the next US edition too. I really enjoyed it thanks to a bunch of strong characters, Crystal Methyd being my favourite! Emmerdale's had another consistent year, perhaps lacking a little on the HUGE storylines this time round but it continues to be the most reliable soap. The Masked Singer UK was a fantastic concept brought to life brilliantly, I'm really excited for the new series! I also enjoyed Little Mix's talent show, the concept felt fresh and the girls were so great as judges. Finally, I never expected to love the Family Fortunes reboot with Gino D'Acampo so much, but it became one of my TV highlights of the year - the only problem was how few episodes there have been!  |

I'm not much of a TV person but really enjoyed Strictly, Little Mix: The Search and The Hit List this year!
Not the most vintage BGT year ever but I did still tune in the whole way through so they must've been doing something right  Rooting for I'm A Celeb x |

I've watched 0 of thesse TV shows so far whoops, although I should definitely try and watch the Family Fortunes reboot given how much of a fan I used to be of it!

     16 Nowhere Boys | Seasons 1-4 17 Coronation Street | N/A 18 Timeless | Seasons 1-2 19 I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! | Series 20 20 Sense8 | Seasons 1-2 This section contains a few shows that didn't air in 2020, but I watched for the first time! Sense8 was recommended to me by our very own Harry and it was a strong watch, confusing at times but really well planned out with strong characters. Timeless was a Jay recommendation, and was far better than I expected it to be! Both of those shows actually were cancelled long before their time  Nowhere Boys completes the set, an Australian fantasy show about magic involving four teenage boys. The cast switch-up for season 3 felt jarring at first but ultimately the whole run is a really good watch, despite the odd questionable actor. Elsewhere we have 2020's I'm a Celebrity, which did a great job at bringing us the iconic show from a castle! Giovanna was my fave so I'm thrilled she won. Corrie finishes as top soap this year for being strong throughout. Storylines including young Oliver's death and Shona's memory loss have been brilliant, but it's the Geoff and Yasmeen domestic abuse storyline where it's really shone. |

I only watched three episodes of I'm A Celeb this year thanks to my ever-increasing obsession with quiz shows but it did look good from what I saw, Giovanna was a good winner.
