Wasn't expecting this at all, I hope he's alright judging by the tweet. I saw Kasabian 2 years ago and it was absolutely incredible, it's a shame I won't be able to experience that in the same way again (if they do carry on)

Gutted about this they are one of my favourite band’s but Tom’s health has to come first. I saw them live at TRNSMT festival a couple of years ago and they were absolutely brilliant. It’s hard to imagine them continuing without Tom.

Yeah I can't see them carrying on without Tom, Serge has been writing for Kasabian lately (there were actually supposed to start recording album 7 soon), so hopefully the material turns up on an SLP release.

This is positive (though I'm not actually sure if it's actually him as it was only recently set up?)

I'm suprised they announced this just now especially when they were unlikely to release anything this year. I would of thought they would of just waited a year and see what Tom's mindset is then and go from there.

That's what leads me to believe there may have been an argument or something not positive - especially as the tweet doesn't say "we wish Tom all the best" like you'd expect.

Obviously we don’t know the full story but it’s understandable the rest of the band would want to distance themselves from Tom.

They really led with that vague statement about 'personal reasons' (which is now terrible in context) when not a day later he pleads guilty for physical assault? And then this? A slap in the face to fans. |

I'm actually pretty sure that account is fake (surely someone wouldn't hashtag their own name?) Absolutely horrible news though
Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if Kasabian did continue with Serge as lead vocals now tbh. |

I figured it was likely something bad from the language in the first announcement, all this mutual consent stuff tends to show up in this fashion, though I didn't expect such a quick turn around. Good riddance then.
Kasabian had near enough run their course anyway, if the other members want to continue that'd be cool but after this, could be good to just form a different band. |

Yeah that initial statement from the band was too ominously worded for this to not be something pretty bad. Yikes.

I kind of had to stop what I was doing when I heard the news on the radio this morning, especially after yesterday’s announcement

I feel so bad for the other 3, especially Chris and Ian as Serge has his already-successful SLP project.
I would be quite excited if they joined The SLP. |

Gosh, how awful :/ I really liked them back in the mid 2000s, hadn't listened to them in a while but this is a real shame.
Guess they could continue without him, but I think it may be best to just start afresh. |

Oh dear.. well this is obviously incredibly distressing and sad news. I do think that the band have been on a downward trend in terms of output quality for some time and so it's probably a good time to wind the band up and start afresh. 2017 single ”You're In Love With a Psycho” has taken on a rather sinister new meaning now.

The "see you all soon" does seem to suggest they will be continuing, I am curious as to where they go next - as they were recording it soon, Serge must have a whole new album written.
I thought the last one was a return to form, some brilliant songs on there (Ill Ray, Bless This Acid House and Comeback King particuarly), and I'm not sure how I'd feel listening to them now. |

They've continued to write and release great music, I've enjoyed all of their albums from this decade though not as much as the first and third. I'm not sure why yesterday's statement was even necessary, it just makes them look really bad but I think today's is good. It's difficult to see how they can continue the same but Tom was just the singer and not on all of the songs, Serge writes them and does lead on some of them, so I reckon they can make it work without him.
