Probably the one I would consider to be her most overrated. Her vocals really annoy me on this and I cannot bare that shouty chorus. Sometimes I find it listenable, but most the other time, I don't.
2010/2011 was the year of motivational/inspirational songs though! They were the years I seemed to remember them really becoming prominent.
My favourite song of all time, so naturally I have only positives to say of this song. Absolutely stunning in my eyes and the perfect closer for the Prismatic tour when I saw it.
Yeah, this is her signature song and rightfully so, every Teenage Dream ERA single is just perfection for me and this is probably in top 3. Absolutely amazing and iconic.
It's a nice inspirational song and it does have a massive chorus (although the 'boom, boom, boom' middle 8 is the best part for me) but it would still be nowhere near her top 10 tracks for me. I agree with Rob that it was an amazing closer to the Prismatic Tour though, I left that night so buzzed
Another stunning masterpiece from her and continued her reign of dominance at the tail end of the 00's. Sure the overplay did kill it for a while, like it did with a couple of her songs, but you can't deny that this stays in your head and okay comparing a person to a firework is questionable, but it does get away with it and okay either love it or hate it, it's still a fantastic pop song.
What a fabulous performance! A class act!
Top ten on US iTunes too
Yes her performance was absolutely brilliant, it was a bit emotional too.
I have such a Jekyll & Hyde attachment to this song. Sometimes it's annoying to the point I can't listen to it as it's so overplayed and the lyrics can be a bit too on the head to appreciate. Other times it's a brilliant anthem about self-belief and is really quite emotional whilst being upbeat and is something all of us as humans can relate to!
The performance at the inauguration was beautiful and one of the best vocal performances Katy has ever done! Having it alongside actual fireworks at such an important event showed what an impact the song can have in the right setting. I saw a clip of Katy moments after she had performed it and was embraced by her partner and it was so humbling to see how important it was to her and how happy she was!
Wait she performed this??
This was, at least vocal wise, one of her strongest performances I have ever seen.
I was NOT expecting Katy to have the vocal performance of the day, especially with Firework which i kind of despise. What a very special moment for her.
The song has been overplayed to buggery but I found real enjoyment in that! Her live vocals really have come through leaps and bounds in the last couple of years, and she looked so beautiful. Well done KP!
I've literally just seen the performance from the inauguration. Absolutely amazing. She really is so good. 🥰
