Wow, that's awful for 'The Grudge'! ohmy.gif I'm sure they didn't expect it to do THAT badly.

Also did 'The Rhythm Section' not even go Top 15?! Yikes!!

Indeed, it opened at #18 with £171,837.

Remarkably, Oscar-nominated Richard Jewell opened even worse at #19 with £158,868.

And the long-awaited "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" opened even, even worse at #23 with £67,355.

Really impressed with how Parasite did, whilst showing in less than 150 cinemas!

Amazing for Parasite! It's getting a much wider release too this week after it's Oscar win.

Dolittle demolishing Birds Of Prey, even with previews not added, I assume it would have been an easy victory. 'Underwater' not going top 15 even is pretty embarassing!

Absolutely shocked that Dolittle so convincingly got the #1 slot this week; it's heavily underperformed in the US (will probably lose over $100 million), it's reviews have been universally terrible, and its a franchise that doesn't seem to have much of a following (even the Eddie Murphy remake is largely forgotten). It has been advertised on all the buses here, which might have helped.

The advertisement and promotion for Dolittle is what has saved it. As well as the fact that there's no competition (until this week) from other kids/family movies. I imagine it'll fall to number 2 with about £3m-£3.5m next week, with Sonic debuting at #1 with a similar number to what Dolittle did this week (anywhere from £4m - £5m), considering it's the first weekend of half term this weekend.

In the US Sonic is heading for a $60m+ opening (4 day) weekend!

They listened to the fans and it's paid off BIG TIME for them. I'm shook.

Amazing for Parasite. It's already the 3rd highest grossing foreign language film in the UK of all-time after two weeks (behind Passion Of The Christ & Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).
