For me it was:
UK: Jess Glynne - Hold My Hand
USA: Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk
UK: Eminem feat. Rihanna - The Monster (last ones for both! )
US: Lorde - Royals
UK: Sam Smith- Stay With Me (remember this as I joined the week West Coast by Lana was released!)
US: Don't know, does anyone know?
I'm sure someone can find out the USA one for me but for UK:
Ghost by Ella Henderson (first week)
UK:
"Glad You Came" by The Wanted
^ I bet Buzzjack shares that same sentiment towards me *.*
US:
"Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO/Lauren Bennett/GoonRock
June 23, 2006 (wow, almost 10 years now?)
UK: "Meneater" Nelly Furtado
USA: "Bad Day" Daniel Powter
Canada slaying
UK: "I'm Not Alone" by Calvin Harris
US: "Boom Boom Pow" by Black Eyed Peas ??
Poor for both. But the Billboard 'issue dates' confuse me (looking on Wiki), if it was first week for "Boom Boom Pow" then I narrowly missed on it being "Poker Face" for both countries
join date: 30/08/2010
UK: Taio Cruz - Dynamite
US: Eminem - Love the Way You Lie (feat. Rihanna)
both are great tunes that really sum up 2010
UK: One Direction - What Makes You Beautiful
US: Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera - Moves Like Jagger (I think)
UK: LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem :')
US: Katy Perry - E.T. *.*
UK: Kiesza - Hideaway
USA: Pharell Williams - Happy
UK: Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass
US: Meghan Trainor - All About That Bass
(28th October 2014)
UK: Lovers On The Sun - David Guetta
US: Rude - Magic!
UK: He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother - The Justice Collective
USA: Locked Out of Heaven - Bruno Mars
UK Number One: JLS - The Club Is Alive
US Number One: Katy Perry - California Gurls
Urgh at UK one.
UK: Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love
US: Alicia Keys - No One
Both two of my favourite songs ever! *.*
---
Adam, you got Iggy Azalea - Fancy for US.
According to Wikipedia...
UK: Chico - It's Chico Time
US: Beyoncé - Check On It
Both pieces of absolute shit. Had Buzzjack's inception happened a couple of days earlier I'd have had Madonna - Sorry for the UK.
UK: Heroes by X Factor Finalists 2010. (I actually like this. )
US: Raise Your Glass by P!nk (easily one of my favourite songs at the time! )
Happy by Pharrell Williams in both places unfortunately
UK: Bruno Mars - 'Grenade'
US: Katy Perry - 'Firework'
UK: Cascada - Evacuate the Dancefloor (darn this was the Michael Jackson injustice week :/)
US: Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
Meh at both, had I joined a week earlier I would've had La Roux's Bulletproof in the UK
UK: Iyaz "Replay"
US: Kesha "Tik Tok"
UK: Timbaland/Keri Hilson 'The Way I Are' 😍
US: Plain White Tees 'Hey There Delilah'
Makes me yearn for new music from Keri! 😭
UK - Love Yourself
US - Hello
boring
UK - One Republic - Counting Stars
US - Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball
*.+ I win
I got "All About That Bass" for both countries.
UV I will pray for you
UK: Lily Allen - The Fear
USA: Kelly Clarkson - My Life Would Suck Without You
Apparently x
Rihanna Feat. Jay Z - Umbrella for both.
UK: Rudimental feat John Newman - Feel the Love
US: Gotye feat Kimbra - Somebody That I Used to Know
UK: Ke$ha - We R Who We R
USA: Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me
And I'm not too keen on either yay. Just missing Grenade, a song I actually harbour some appreciation for, on both sides of my join date.
I have 'Umbrella' for both :/ I really disliked that at the time but it's somehow gotten bearable over the years but meh.
I joined Buzzjack on 20 August 2006!!!!
UK: Shakira f/Wyclef Jean - Hips Don't Lie (final week at #1 - 5th non-consecutive week at #1)
US: Fergie - London Bridge (2nd of 3 weeks at #1)
2006 was one of the years I followed and enjoyed the UK Singles charts very much. Yes, the sales were at their low points but it was still exciting to watch. Hips Don't Lie was number 1. It was then in the Top 3 for three weeks before returning the top spot again for another four weeks, according to the OCC. I also remember this as being the final #1 on TOTP.
I didn't follow Billboard in 2006 so Fergie having a #1 single was new information to me. I still think if Fergalicious was pushed more, it would have had a chance to do well in the UK (it peaked at #2 in the US).
UK -
Sugababes Vs Girls Aloud - Walk This Way
USA -
Beyoncé - Irreplaceable
UK: Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah
US: Beyoncé - Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)
I don't like either song
UK: Jason Derulo ft. 2 Chainz - Talk Dirty
US: Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (a v apt soundtrack to my entrance I'm sure you'll agree~)
Both are their biggest/most 'iconic' hits I'd imagine, which is something as I don't particularly care for either.
UK: Chico - It's Chico Time
US: James Blunt - You're Beautiful
I still think of myself as a newbie until I realise I joined eight years ago!
UK: Dizzee Rascal - Dance Wiv Me
US: Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl
Not a particularly golden age - Dizzee the start of his descent into poppy irrelevance, and I really didn't like that Katy Perry song at the time - she's done way better stuff since.
UK - Justin timberlake - mirrors
US - Justin timberlake - mirrors
Blurred Lines for both, I joined on a Sunday when it climbed back to #1. Had I joined a couple weeks earlier I could've had I Love It and Can't Hold Us, my top 2 of 2013 </3
UK: PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready To Rhumble
US: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Wanz - Thrift Shop, not bad I'd much rather Harlem Shake from 2 weeks before *.*
UK: Avicii - Wake Me Up
US: Robin Thicke (feat T.I. & Pharrell) - Blurred Lines (2 days off being the UK one as well)
Seeing all these kinda new songs I feel like there's a load of new Buzzjack members!
And for the "vintage" member it is:
Duffy - Mercy
Flo Rida feat. T-Pain - Low
I'm surprised Chico only appeared twice here!
Mine was Leon Jackosn - must have registered to complain lol
UK 5 Seconds of Summer - She Looks So Perfect
US Pharrell - Happy
Peter Kay's All Star Band in the UK :/
Jay-Z and Alicia Keys in the U.S.
UK: Gareth Malone's All Star Choir - Wake Me Up
USA: Taylor Swift - Shake It Off
UK: Flo Rida & David Guetta - Club Can't Handle Me
US: Eminem - Love The Way You Lie (Feat. Rihanna)
Both ATROCIOUS
Original members posting here are saying Chico "It's Chico Time" but that was week ending March 11th, so it wouldn't have been number 1 on 7th March 2006?
I make the UK number 1 for us Madonna's "Sorry" - a vast improvement!
And Beyoncé feat. Slim Thug "Check On It" for the US chart.
UK ~ Basshunter ~ Now You're Gone
US ~ Flo Rida ~ Low
Dutch top40: Owl City - Fireflies. Meh.... pretty shit
UK top75: Helping Haiti - Everybody Hurts. Don't know this but reading from the title it's not good.
US top100: Ke$ha - Tik Tok. One of my least favorite songs of that whole dance-pop period (which was already bad in itself).
April 6th, 2006
UK: Ne-Yo - So Sick
US: Sean Paul - Temperature
Adele - hello For both when i actually pressed sign and up
But been a lurker since
Meghan trainor all about that bass again for both
UK #1 SINGLE:
NEED U (100 PERCENT) - DUKE DUMONT FEAT. A*M*E*
What a song
Don't know where I would find American #1's so the UK #1 Album was:
PARAMORE - PARAMORE
UK: Bingo Players ft Far East Movement - Get Up (Rattle)
USA: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis ft Wanz - Thrift Shop
Both tunes.
UK: Avicii - Wake Me Up
USA: Robin Thicke feat. T.I. & Pharrell - Blurred Lines
Originally joined on 7th July 2012 (was lurking for over a year before that I believe)
UK: will.i.am feat. Eva Simons - This Is Love
US: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
UK: Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin'
US: Justin Timberlake - SexyBack
Duffy - 'Mercy' in the UK.
Flo Rida - 'Low' in the US.
I've been on this forum for 8 years.
US - Ke$ha - Tik Tok
UK - Owl City - Firelies
Although I did know and look now and again at the forums since bleeding love got to number one in the UK.
I'm tempted to say Abba-Dancing Queen - it seems that long ago.
UK - Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath
US - Lady GaGa - Born This Way
Wasn't really a fan of that GaGa single but Nicole's was a tune, still listen to it now!
UK: Bad Romance
US: Empire State of Mind
August 17th, 2011:
UK: Cher Lloyd - Swagger Jagger
US: LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
I didn't get particularly lucky.
