Austria The Makemakes - I Am Yours QUOTE The host broadcaster of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015, ORF, have revealed the sixteen names of the acts still in the running to represent Austria in 2015. The song titles for the first show were also published. The sixteen hopefuls and the songs they’ll sing in the first show are: The Makemakes – Million Euro Smile Tandem – Zeig Ihn Mir wo/Men – Happy (Pharell Williams) Royal Kombo – Ram Pam Pam Clara Blume – Love & Starve The Su’sis – This And That Kathi Kallauch – Das Leben ist zu kurz Johann Sebastian Bass – Heart of Stone Celine Ann – I Never Loved A Man (Aretha Franklin) Renato Unterberg – Love Lemo – So Leicht Kommando Elefant – Mein Design fürs Leben Dawa – On The Run Mizgebonez – Medley of Murmeltier and Fitnesstraining Folkshilfe – Seit a poa Tog Zoe – Adieu It is highly likely (and in some cases certain) that these songs will not eventually grace the Eurovision stage. After the first show, six acts will remain. These six will then get another song that may win the right to represent Austria in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2015. The six remaining acts will be coached by three well-known German and Austrian artists: Nazar, Anna F and The BossHoss. ORF stated that they have attempted to create a diverse mix for the first show, ranging from pop and alternative to chansons and rap. The first show where the above 16 artists will perform is on Friday 20th February. I have high hopes for Austria this year, I've loved every host nation's entry since Green Jolly in 2005! |

My favourite Austrian entries since their 2011 return have been 'The Secret Is Love' and 'Shine' although 'Rise Like A Phoenix' was fantastic once it got to the live stage. 'Woki Mit Deim Popo' was certainly something else though, although the "ooh oohs" were catchy.

All of these are pretty crap. I do like zoe but I can't imagine them sending a French song.
Johann Sebastian Bass is actually really catchy - I think if this got through it would be the novelty song people would vote for over the UK. |

The only song I've heard so far is 'Absolutio' and it's pretty awful, I hope that doesn't win!

Utopia is just about the only song here I'd want to listen to again, so that to win please.

DAWA and The Makemakes are in the superfinal, the latter being the favourites after winning the televoting in the first round (DAWA were 2nd).

So we have duets from every country and now we actually have a Waylon reincarnation for Austria!
It's a decent song - nothing speical. Also is it dress down Tuesday in Austria? You're on the tv, people! Put on a bit of sparkle like zoe! |

This is nice, a listenable if not incredible entry. More memorable than Poland, and I'm glad they didn't go for the Bass thing!

Also this is the first time Australia has actually voted in Eurovision - they were part of the internarional jury and helped select the Austrian entrant:

Wow, what a major comedown for Austria...it's ok to be fair but I thought they'd deliver something slightly more revolutionary than a Mr Big 1992 b-side.

I can totally see why Slovenia is first with the UK, it's the sort of song that Rudimental or someone like that would have a #1 with with Jess Glynne or Ella Eyre. Her voice has a real hint of Becky Hill too imo.
I can also see how this has such low points it's just about passable, just such a comedown from Conchita really... |
