The real gutting thing about the 2001 charts around this time is that 'It Wasn't Me' only had a single week at #1. If it wasn't for forgettable songs by Westlife, Hear'Say and Emma Bunton it would have been #1 for 7 weeks.

You need to remember though, the charts worked completely differently back then. It was a different era, the turnover was faster (and as a result was a lot more fresh and IMO, interesting. I loved following the charts in 2001).

Those were stellar 2006 sales for Shayne Ward (though still less than 10% of That's My Goal's first week laugh.gif), unfortunate that it went up against Crazy.

20 years ago since the UK Eurovision entry was anything remotely resembling a long running hit drama.gif

Hope the All Saints album hasn't fallen too far, probably my favourite album of the year, that or Sia with PSB not too far behind.

Biography
All Saints are an English-Canadian girl group formed in London in 1993. Originally founded as All Saints 1.9.7.5 by members Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis and Simone Rainford, the group struggled to find commercial success upon being signed to ZTT Records and were dropped by the label shortly after Rainford left the group. In 1995 the group were joined by sisters Nicole and Natalie Appleton and signed to London Records under their shortened name. All Saints became one of the most popular groups of the 1990s; they were viewed as the credible and cooler alternative to the Spice Girls for their edgy take on pop music, and signature crop top and cargo pants style which prompted a late 1990s British fashion trend.

The group's debut album, All Saints (1997), peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart and went on to become the third best-selling girl group album of all time in the UK. The Appleton sisters' private lives soon became a staple feature among tabloid newspapers to the extent that it detracted from the group's music. All Saints' second album, Saints & Sinners (2000), became their first number-one album and achieved multi-platinum success. Amid in-fighting among the group members, All Saints controversially split the following year. The group later reformed after signing to Parlophone Records to release their third album, Studio 1 (2006). However, the album bowed at number 40 in the UK and All Saints were dropped by Parlophone shortly afterward. Following a second split in 2009, the group reunited in 2014 for a series of well received live performances, prompting the group to sign to London for a second time for the release of their fourth album, Red Flag (2016).

In their career, All Saints achieved a string of nine consecutive top-ten hits in the UK, including five number-ones: "Never Ever", "Under the Bridge / Lady Marmalade", "Bootie Call", "Pure Shores" and "Black Coffee". "Never Ever" is the second best-selling girl group single of all-time in the UK, behind the Spice Girls' "Wannabe". The group have also won two Brit Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards and one Ivor Novello Award. As of January 2016, All Saints have sold 12 million records.

Biography
Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969), also known as J. Lo, is an American actress, author, fashion designer, dancer, producer, and singer. She became interested in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry following a minor role in the 1986 film My Little Girl, to the dismay of her Puerto Rican parents, who believed that it was an unrealistic career route for a Hispanic. Lopez gained her first regular high-profile job as a Fly Girl dancer on In Living Color in 1991, where she remained a regular until she decided to pursue an acting career in 1993. She received her first leading role in the Selena biopic of the same name in 1997. Lopez became the first Latina actress to earn over US$1 million for a role the following year, with the film Out of Sight. She ventured into the music industry in 1999 with her debut studio album, On the 6.

With the simultaneous release of her second studio album J.Lo and her film The Wedding Planner in 2001, Lopez became the first person to have a number one album and film in the same week. Her 2002 remix album, J to tha L–O! The Remixes, became the first in history to debut at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, while her fifth studio album, Como Ama una Mujer (2007), received the highest first-week sales for a Spanish album in the United States. With past record sales of over 60 million and a cumulative film gross of over US$2 billion, Lopez is regarded as the most influential Hispanic performer in the United States, as well as its highest paid Latin entertainer. Along with Pitbull, she recorded "We Are One (Ole Ola)", which served as the official song of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Beyond entertainment, Lopez enjoys a highly successful business career, consisting of various clothing lines, accessories, fragrances, a production company, television shows and a charitable foundation among other business interests. Lopez's personal relationships have attracted worldwide media attention; she has been married three times. Following the breakdown of her first marriage, Lopez dated rapper and entertainment mogul Sean Combs. Following the breakdown of her second marriage to husband Cris Judd, she dated actor Ben Affleck. Their relationship was the subject of much media interest; their planned wedding was cancelled four days before the ceremony. Lopez then wed longtime friend Marc Anthony; they separated after seven years of marriage. Lopez gave birth to their twins, Emme and Maximilian, in 2008.

I'd like for Sia to be #1 to complete that perfect chart run, but then Drake came along and based on the songs I'd be more excited to see 'One Dance' at #1. Been ages since the last urban song at the top! Either way someone's getting their first #1 as a lead artist, and I'm just glad it won't be Mike Posner again.
