Albania
Elhaida Dani - I'm Alive

The final of the "festival of the song" will take place in the Palace of Congress in Tirana on December 28th.

First semifinal (December 26)

Enver Petrovci - Të vranë bukuri
Revolt Klan - Më mungon
Julian Gjojdeshi - Himn i jetes
Sigi Bastri & Florent Abrashi - Eklips mbi oqean
Marsela Çibukaj - S'muj
Saimir Braho - Kristal
Klajdi Musabelliu - Vetëm te ti besoj
Erga Halilaj - Ti s'më njeh
Besiana Mehmedi & Shkodran Tolaj - Kështjella
Estela Brahimllari - Kjo natë
Lindita Halimi - S'të fal
Grupi Offchestra - Bajram
Venera Lumani - Dua të jetoj

Second semifinal (December 27)

Jozefina Simoni - Mendje trazi
Altin Goci - Rock për gjithë jetën
Bojken Lako Band - Të ndjej
Elhaida Dani - Të kërkoj
Kelly - Nëse ti do
Rezarta Smaja - Më rrëmbe
Grupi Aurora - Maria
Ana Gramo - Në koma
Mjellma Berisha - Sot jetoj
Emi Bogdo - Një femër
Agim Poshka - Në rrugën tonë
Xhejn & Enxhi Kumrija - Njeri
Gjergj Leka - Himn

I doubt anyone will beat Elhaida and I'm usually 100% right with my past predictions tongue.gif (Aurela, Rona).

The other two (highlighted and italic) might be contenders but I have doubts.

Albania's entries haven't been as strong the past few years. Hoping for another Më merr në ëndërr *.*

or another Suus would be just as fine and Elhaida is known for her VOICE (she won The Voice of Italy last year)

Elhaida just performed and the general forum reactions seem to be incredible vocals with a slightly underwhelming and dated song but still definitely a favourite to win. I look forward to watching it later still!

So we have our finalists and while I've only seen small parts of both semis, going by the small parts I've seen and the reaction over at ESC Forum, these are the three stand-outs I think and hopefully one of these win - but I'm very aware we could end up with an 'Identitet'...

Elhaida Dani has a fabulous song that won't be to all tastes as it could be considered quite dated, but I really love it and is quite similar to Russia's fantastic Junior Eurovision entry this year which was 'Dreamer' by Alisa Kozikhina. And she did win The Voice of Italy!

Rezarta Smaja has had a great reaction over on ESC Forum and is great as well:

And then if Albania fancied shocking everyone, Lindita Halimi has quite an amazing song with orchestra breakdowns and crazy vocals. Sounds like it'd be something on Qassandravision! kink.gif I don't think this has the potential to win but its definitely worth checking out!

There would be nothing bad about this Ryan mad.gif

I trust in Albania to send an underrated doomed song anyway so I'm not too worried about it being bad, although there's always a chance.

This is the tonight's running order for the final!

1. Besiana Mehmedi & Shkodran Tolaj - Kështjella
2. Bojken Lako Band - Të ndjej
3. Emi Bogdo - Një femër
4. Lindita Halimi - S'të fal
5. Mjellma Berisha - Sot jetoj
6. Enver Petrovci - Të vranë bukuri
7. Erga Halilaj - Ti s'më njeh
8. Rezarta Smaja - Më rrëmbe
9. Jozefina Simoni - Mendje trazi
10. Venera Lumani - Dua të jetoj
11. Altin Goci - Rock për gjithë jetën
12. Gjergj Leka - Himn
13. Klajdi Musabelliu - Vetëm te ti besoj
14. Saimir Braho - Kristal
15. Estela Brahimllari - Kjo natë
16. Marsela Çibukaj - S'muj
17. Agim Poshka - Në rrugën tonë
18. Elhaida Dani - Të kërkoj

Fabulous spot for Elhaida but I doubt it matters too much considering there's no televote. Apparently it seems Gjergj is the biggest threat to spoil the party of the 3 I highlighted above with a song about Albania.

Thanks Ryan for updating the thread.

I hope and pray they will pick up Elhaida or Lindita (which is my fave)...either one of them will be good.

EDIT:

Actually I want Linda to win...the music it's really up to date and her vocals are incredible but I'm sure they won't pick this time around another act from Kosovo to represent Albania, even though Rona gave them the best result to date!!!

If we go by YT views, Linda should win this tongue.gif...she's slaying others with 1:9 except Elhaida which I'm sure people viewed her just because she was hyped and tipped to win.

Linda: 16k views
Elhaida: 11k views

The rest: 20k combined lol

Really enjoyed the show so far, it's the first Festivali i Këngës I've properly watched all the way through - the orchestra is really refreshing although I wouldn't want other national finals to incorporate it.

Lindita, Erga and Rezarta are my favourites so far and Emi was nice too (and I know Elhaida is already great!). I'm worried either Enver or Gjergj will win though (although I've yet to hear the latter).

Gjergj song is pretty much lyrically revamped version of Aurela Gace song in 2011, bye Felicia.

I have a very bad feeling that could win, but I didn't like it at all - maybe it's more enjoyable if you understand the lyrics but that would go nowhere in Eurovision.

Well after a very average set of songs in the second half, Elhaida sounded even more incredible. Albania have 3 or 4 fantastic options tonight, I just hope they choose one of them!

Rather you than me Ryan, Albania is (I imagine) only one step removed from Malta in the sheer endurance stakes.

So Elhaida wins, it was looking like Albania may make an 'Identitet' style mistake and choose Bojken Lako Band but luckily Elhaida pulled away with the last few jurors! Lindita got a deserved 3rd place as well.

Fantastic singer and the song has so much potential, and we know Albania always give us a bit of a revamp! I think it could be a potential top 10 finisher depending on what the revamp sounds like (and whether it is translated) but for now it's definitely my favourite along with Trijntje!

I'm sensing a performance along the lines of 'It's My Time' actually, but probably won't finish quite as high as that.

Tonight's winning performance (wrong title though as it changed to 'Diell'):

As much as I like Elhaida, I'm sure another DNQ for Albania is on their way.

Even with revamped future version, I don't think this will stand a chance. But I know for sure a 12 from Italy is almost guaranteed laugh.gif
