Chart Analysis

Avicii once again claims the #1 single with 'Lonely Together', becoming the song's 10th non-consecutive week at the top, though its days are numbered with Christmas songs on the rise and a big new entry from Jax Jones. Previous single 'Instruction' went in straight at #1, something which 'Breathe' is unable to replicate due to a very strong top three of non-movers and the rising 'Eleven' from DC Breaks (up 7-4). It does however instantly become a third consecutive top five hit for Jones though, entering at this week's #5. Off the back of the new single, 'You Don't Know Me' leaps 89-44 and also becomes the first song ever to spend an entire year (52 weeks) in the top 100, consecutively or otherwise. 'Instruction' sees no such boost however dropping 82-88.

Christmas is coming which can now be seen in the chart. Last year's #1 from Hurts, 'All I Want...' is back at #18. Leona Lewis returns to #24 with 'One More Sleep' and The Pogues make their annual appearance at #34 with 'Fairytale Of New York', which has made the chart in every year since 2010. Elsewhere, Chicane enters the top 10 with 'Gorecki', up 12-8. Jus Now & Dismantle soar into the top 40 with 'Fire (Spotie)', up 47-17, and Mr. Belt & Wezol & Aevion likewise up 54-23 with 'One More Day'. Outside the top 40 there are new entries from G-Eazy, Jamie Jones, LIONE, David Guetta/Afrojack, Otto Knows and Crazy Cousinz.
