BuzzJack Music Forum _ Kylie and Dannii Minogue _ Multiple Kylie Choices and Opinions

Posted by: pippa 3rd September 2019, 04:05 PM

I have seen a couple of comments and questions in various threads and decided to put them all together in one poll to see how people vote.

The poll includes:

Poll 1: Strictly Come Dancing iTunes Boost.

Poll 2: Should Kylie Release a Duets Album.

Poll 3: Which Album Do You Prefer?

Poll 4: Where Will SBIT Chart Next week?

Please vote and share your choices and opinions.

Dancing
Yes
Ray of Light
Top 40.

Dancing and then all the lovers. The duets album yes but possibly duets and rarities. It's the only time I prefer a madonna album to a kylie album and top 40 for SBIT and hopefully top 35 but the higher the better.

Dancing
No
Ray of Light
Top 50

Dancing, judging by previous iTunes boost.

Hell no.

Ray of Light is the better constructed and focused album.

Top 30 - sales are still so close so it doesn't need a huge sales boost to end up high to be honest.

- 'Dancing'

I am suprrised with the No result so far for a duets album, is there any particular reasons why you would be against such a release?

Because I could imagine it ending up being really lame and novel like Kylie Christmas was.

Yup. I could imagine that she'd either be pushed in a completely kitsch/camp direction or it would be a mostly painfully boring covers album of famous duets. I just can't see it turning out decent.

When i reference a duets album, i make reference to releasing an album of the existing duets Kylie has already done.
I am not referencing a new studio album of duets with covers etc as i agree it would be lame.
Track listing example would be her recent duets with Tove Lo, Sigala, Vaccines, and Jack Savoretti for example.
We also have the older duets with Jason Donovan, Keith Washington, Robbie Williams and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
This would be the direction i was referring to for the duets album.

That kind of sounds like an even worse option since the duets really doesn't have much in common to create a somewhat cohesive album, plus some of those duets Kylie barely features on.

Posted by: pippa 4th September 2019, 03:16 PM

Which duets would you consider that Kylie has a heavy feature?

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 4th September 2019, 03:42 PM

I feel like it would only really work as a marketable collection if she had a vast array of "duets" that are well known/were big hits, otherwise it's just not an interesting enough concept as a "for the fans" thing to make it worthwhile (imo).

I would definitely much prefer a rarities/B-sides collection than that as a treat.

Dancing
No
Ray of Light
Top 40

I wouldn't want a duets album of any description either. I agree with Aly that a rarities album would be much more worthwhile.

Posted by: pippa 4th September 2019, 05:39 PM

I would prefer a b sides and rarities release ahead of a duets albums myself.
Maybe such a release could contain elements of both.

1. Dancing
2. No (But I’m certain it will happen at some point)
3. KM94
4. Top 30

I'm not sure a duets album will hapoen and if it does I'd love it but I'd love a rarities album too.

I agree - I feel like everyone owns things like Where The Wild Roses Grow or Especially For You at this point, but a lot would probably like to have things like the Tove Lo track on a separate collection.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 5th September 2019, 08:30 AM

There are so many features she has done that its easy to forget about some of them so I'd like to have them on an album even though I still try and keep them all together on my own homemade cds.I say the same for rarity songs aswell.

Posted by: pippa 5th September 2019, 01:35 PM

Either way Kylie has so much material left hanging about in vaults that could easily land Kylie a 17th Top 10 album.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 5th September 2019, 10:09 PM

It's incredible that she has 17 top 10 albums and she has more ahead.

Posted by: pippa 9th September 2019, 01:48 PM

Dancing as we have predicted has got the most from the performance despite it getting the shortest part of the medley.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 10th September 2019, 12:57 AM

Dancing vocally got very little from kylie but in happy with its boost as uts getting nearer to 200k which us great result for kylie.

Posted by: pippa 10th September 2019, 01:29 PM

It is just a joy that Dancing has built those sales as i really did not see this outcome when it was released with a Number 48 debut.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 10th September 2019, 11:10 PM

Dancing despite it's much much lower than deserved chart position has done well and is a song that will remain hugely popular on all kylies tours.

Posted by: pippa 11th September 2019, 01:41 PM

It is a song that will be remembered preciously among her fans and will be an encore song or part of an encore medley as part of the tours.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 12th September 2019, 01:18 AM

Back in the day dancing i think would have had a shot at number 1.

Posted by: pippa 12th September 2019, 02:11 PM

Very possible but a certain Top 5 hit.
It could have been an All The Lovers size hit.

Posted by: Feel_The_Fever 17th September 2019, 11:01 PM

25% of voters predicted correctly on a top 50 return last week. When I voted I was beyond sure it would be top 40.

Posted by: pippa 18th September 2019, 03:05 PM

I also predicted a Top 40 return and voted without the slightest of doubts.
I secretly had hope it would have made its way back into a Top 30 position.
