4 Rak-Su feat. Wyclef Jean & Naughty Boy - Dimelo [23.3k]
I know they will probably do better than the last couple of winners - and I hope they do have a decent career, as they actually write and perform their own songs - but it's incredible how low the interest is in X Factor nowadays. I am surprised they still air it. They've gone from 500,000+ opening weeks to winning songs that don't even sell 100,00 in total. |

Whilst the interest in the show is only a fraction of what it used to be, sales are also at a fraction of what they used to be. |

Although the first winner got record first week sales in 2005 when sales were at a huge low although the cd format still sold especially at xmas whereas streaming presents this and spreads sales a bit more! |

Also it was the novelty of these shows at that time that aided the sales. To be honest I'm surprised X Factor remained popular for as long as it did. Now it's 2017 I think most people are bored of the same old same old. |

At least they won the X factor if they won the voice they wouldn’t have gone top 40

Could Kelly Clarkson reach a new peak this year?
That's easily my favourite Christmas song of the last few years. |

Only Cowell still continues to beat the dead horse... The format still produces at least 1 hit per series finalists (unlike the voice which seems pointless as even the winner can’t get a hit) so he still benefits and for the first time in a good few years we have a winner that has the potential to be big and is current to chart trends |

Soz for being pedantic but "All I Want For Christmas" came out in 1994, not 1992. It's a little annoying that the "Merry Christmas" album isn't as popular in the UK like it is in the US and Australia, Mariah's Xmas album is so good. I love both of Mariah’s Christmas albums - disappointing that neither of them get any chart action each year especially as they are so accessible now via streaming. Although her first Christmas album seems to have been a consistent seller as it’s certified Platinum. |

I don’t think the album has re-entered the charts since it was released in 1994 - crazy that the UK is one of the biggest supporters of AIWFC, but has always paid the album dust. It has re-charted a number of times, but only on the Budget albums chart. Until Woolies bit the dust it was always on sale every year for £3.99 and used to re-enter the Budget Albums chart on a regular basis. It's still available to buy and once again made the Budget Albums chart last year and peaked at number 15. It has spent 87 weeks in total on that chart.Edit: chart run for 'Merry Christmas' last year (2016) on the Budget albums chart: (chart entry week beginning 02/12/16) 42-38-46-39-OUT Apologies, it made number 15 the previous year, last year it made only number 38 and had been on the Budget Albums Chart for 89 weeks. Its lack of success on the Budget Albums chart is mainly down to the fact that the Budget Albums chart is based purely on physical sales and downloads - streams don't count towards that chart (as is also the same for the Compilations Chart) which works against those albums. It's good that mariahs x mas album is platinum as I thought it sold way less. I remember been so disappointed with how it charted when released as it's one of the better Christmas albums.
