Socialism is authoritarian by its very nature - seizing control of means of production/distribution cannot be done any other way - private owners will resist...

So capitalism must also be inherently violent. You are talking about fin de siecle, just like the change from feudalism to capitalism, although capitalism is just feudalism rebranded.

By the same logic, pure capitalism is authoritarian by nature. Give employers unfettered freedom to do what they like and the workers will resist.

Yes. Same as in a democracy with socialism. At least with socialism you don't have rich billionaire plutocrats buying elections, saying people don't deserve power, that they never vote because money is power, and buy the media execs and papers. Just sayin. Can there even be true democracy with unfettered capitalism? I don't think so.

I was thinking of the kind socialism where they might initially be voted in, but decide to ignore later elections that go against them...
