    Andrew's Review
Now That's What I Call Music! 12 aka Now 12 was the summer compilation of 1988 managing 5 weeks at the top spot and featuring some of the best artists of the time including Belinda Carlisle, Climie Fisher; T'Pau, Sabrina, and the mighty James Brown!
A fine 5 UK #1s were chosen leaving aside Fairground Attraction – Perfect & Bros – I Owe You Nothing.
Now 12 was the first time we heard music from Maxi Priest, Danny Wilson, Voice Of The Beehive & Salt 'N' Pepa.
Now 12 was also the only time we have heard music from quite a wide range of artists including Hothouse Flowers, Iron Maiden, The Timelords, Sabrina, Tiffany, Hazell Dean, Glenn Medeiros, Derek B, James Brown, Rose Royce & Will Downing.
The cover concept has been used to death of recent years, but back then in the eighties, this was a very refreshing cover, perfect for summer holidays.
Now 12 is probably one of my favourites from the late eighties, and that is mainly because of the seasonal music which I find very refreshing even today, and also because of hearing exclusive music from James Brown and even Iron Maiden! Certainly a big improvement on Now 11 from earlier in that year, and I think the quantity of #1s reflects this too.

Artwork Rating: 7/10 Very Good
Bright and summery – that's exactly what I expect to see from the artwork of a summer volume, and Now 12 delivers on that expectation.

Disc 1 Favourite: Phil Collins – In The Air Tonight ['88 Remix]
Possibly Phil's signature hit, and the fact it gained mainstream success again 20 years later via the Cadbury's advert just shows it's popularity. A great hit.

Disc 2 Favourite: The Timelords – Doctorin' The Tardis
I guess I picked this as I'm really Into Doctor Who right now and this stood out to me, and even though it's relatively simple in it's production, it was still a #1 single at the time.

Overall Rating: 6/10 Good
I'm pretty sure about my rating here, it's a well rounded volume with a mix of all sorts of genres of that era. A decent number of #1 singles and a few gems from the past. Nice work.

Andrew's Best 5 (as of October 2016)
1. The Timelords – Doctorin' The Tardis
2. Phil Collins – In The Air Tonight ('88 Remix)
3. S'Express – Theme From S'Express
4. Climie Fisher – Love Changes Everything
5. Salt 'N' Pepa – Push It

Andrew's Worst 5 (as of October 2016)
1. The Communards – There's More To Love
2. Will Downing – A Love Supreme (Radio Mix)
3. Natalie Cole – Pink Cadillac
4. Hothouse Flowers – Don't Go
5. T'Pau – I Will Be With You

Artwork rating: 7/10 - Liking the light blue and dark blue used against each other! A nice summer feel to it.

Disc 1 Favourite: Phil Collins – In The Air Tonight ('88 Remix) - This disc was so poor compared to disc 2 so it was easier to choose a favourite. I have always found it pretty intense and love the instrumentation.

Disc 2 Favourite: S'Express - Theme From S'Express - There were quite a few favourites on this side battling for the title, but I eventually settled on S'Express! It's a bit of a banger without being too in your face. Sounds a bit ahead of its time - I would've guessed at it being from the 90s not 80s!

Overall rating - 6/10 - Disc 2 is pretty strong but Disc 1 lets it down on the whole! Only a few I'd go back to out of choice.

Artwork Rating:
The blue is nice like being by a pool on holiday but the 12 is VERY in your face. Feeling generous so 6/10.

Disc 1 Favourite:
In The Air Tonight - A great singalong, what wonders the Cadbury advert did for this song's popularity. Shoutout to the Iron Maiden song too loved that when it featured on ITV's F1 coverage for a brief period.

Disc 2 Favourite:
Theme From S'Express - very close between this & Push It but really love this song. Always great to hear on the umpteen dance compilations!

Overall Rating:
Still a good portion I've never heard (I feel it's gonna be like this until at least the 40s editions) but some very distinct highlights bumps this up to a 6/10 from me.

Disc 1 Fave: Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight (88 remix)

Don't know how the '88 remix is different to the original, but this is a great song anyway so I had to pick it. I especially like it after the drums come in later in the track. Climie Fisher - Love Changes Everything I like too from disc 1.

Disc 2 Fave: Sabrina - Boys (Summertime Love) - Cheesy, but a very catchy song. I guess Sabrina was the Whigfield of 1988, her voice rather sounds like her too!

I do like Theme from S'Express too!
