Looks to be another Ed Sheeran/Justin Bieber and Lil Nas X top two this week, with new releases from Liam Gallagher with Shockwave, Chris Brown featuring Drake with No Guidance and Mabel with Mad Love all set to debut, as well as Heaven by Avicii featuring vocals from Chris Martin

Lewis Capaldi could make it 4 weeks at #1, while new arrivals from Avicii's posthumous release TIM, Jonas Brothers' first album in ten years Happiness Begins and rapper Mostack's debut album Stacko should make an impact. Among the new releases is The Divine Comedy's Office Politics, plus albums from Jamie Cullum, Neil Young and Santana

At least that would end Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber's run at the top... the gap is VERY close though.

Posted by: WhoOdyssey 10th June 2019, 05:03 PM

LG at 9! He'll fall over the next few days but top 25 would be brilliant.

Posted by: coi 10th June 2019, 05:06 PM

Also looks like Grace is coming back into the top 40 again as if nothing ever happened laugh.gif

Posted by: Djcheekymagpie 10th June 2019, 05:09 PM

Try gust if Lewis Capaldi bruises or grace on Firday

Posted by: danG 10th June 2019, 05:12 PM

Sales are in. Although apparently Stormzy has sold less than Billie despite being a place higher.

Pleased to see Avicii looking to get another top 10 album (or even top five if Divine Comedy turn out to be very front loaded) and possible top 20 debut with 'Heaven'.

Posted by: Bjork 10th June 2019, 05:21 PM

impressive for Liam Gallagher

ouch at Avicii's posthumous album barely on 3K and even beaten by the Divine Comedy and Mostack, really thought Tim had a chance at #1, I know dance music rarely sells albums but I thought there would be a demand for this considering its a post-humous release and SOS did so well

Posted by: Wall 10th June 2019, 05:23 PM

I expected better for Avicii sad.gif

Posted by: Bré 10th June 2019, 05:23 PM

Ooh, 'Ladbroke Grove' should be comfortably top 40 then *.*

#1 could go either way this week but I guess Ed will be back at #1 next week either way, if Lil Nas X is due to go onto ACR.

Lol at 'Grace' being back again. A mess. x

Posted by: Bjork 10th June 2019, 05:28 PM

didn't realise Grace is back, that is very messy indeed, it's a bit like a lottery to see which random album tracks chart

It is disappointingly low. Didn't see the physical in Asda yesterday. Is it out on physical yet?

Great to see LG inn the Top 10 even if he is in for a fall and also Sigala and Becky climbing into the Top 20!

Posted by: dobbo 10th June 2019, 05:32 PM

Go on LG! Not heard the song yet tho.

Hope Ed & Bieb take back the top spot. Again, how long will it be for some of these songs stinking out the top 10 to go onto ACR?

Posted by: gavindeejay 10th June 2019, 05:33 PM

I can't wait to see the back of Bad Guy, Vossi Bop and Someone You Loved

Posted by: PeteFromLeeds 10th June 2019, 05:35 PM

even if he goes back to#1, Lil Nas X could hit ACR, sales are lower than last week and would be his 3rd week in a row declining... think it will be the 3rd week declining for SLY and Meduza too

Should do but MoStack will benefit even more and he’s too far behind Jonas Bros.
Hopefully he can overtake Divine Comedy and remain at 5 (as Billie I expect will overtake him by then).
At least Tim is set to debut higher than Stories anyhow.

It is indeed, but the supermarkets don’t seem to be stocking it. I bought it yesterday in my local HMV (Bromley, one of only two stores left in the whole of London) and they were stocking only two copies of it. I was expecting it to be in much higher demand.

Could the fact Avicii's album was released on Thursday at 4pm be a big thing affecting it here? Wouldn't have all the pre-orders have gone into last week instead, as well as all the sales it would have accumulated when it was released before midnight on Friday?

Posted by: pippa 10th June 2019, 06:48 PM

Disappointed for the Avicii result so far, as its looking likely to make a low Top 10 entry at the highest now.
Wonderful to see Take That in the Top 20, didn't foresee that for this week although its likely it will end the week Top 25 at highest.

Posted by: Bjork 10th June 2019, 06:50 PM

but then it would have charted last week and it didn't
you only need 1000 copies to go top 100 most weeks

I think the pre-orders still count to this week. It was only #54 on the album sales chart last week which seems too low to be including pre-orders, unless it barely had any.

Posted by: pippa 10th June 2019, 06:56 PM

Thought the Spice Girls would be safely Top 20 this week.
I do hope they can improve on the current Number 28 position.

No I like it the way it is now. The songs that last longer than the usual 10 weeks most consistently are the biggest hits.

And at any rate SYL is the years biggest hit.

If it's just iTunes (etc) pre-orders then that's probably believable. It was #15 on the digital album sales chart which seems fairly reasonable for 1 day of sales.

I mean, it's totally arbitrary for the most part. "SICKO MODE" & "Lost Without You" have been similarly sized hits but one spent 10 weeks in the top 40 and the other spent 26 weeks in the top 40 because of OCC rules.

Posted by: SKOB 10th June 2019, 07:29 PM

Brilliant for The Divine Comedy! He has only 3 top ten albums before this and now heading top 5/7!

Jonas Brothers possibly challenging for #1 album? Who would have thought their comeback would be so well received, I'm very tempted to go buy a copy of the album this week I love the two singles (again never thought I'd be interested in a Jonas Brothers album lol)

Posted by: SKOB 12th June 2019, 02:53 PM

It's not really challenging Lewis though, I'd say the gap will be like 5k on Friday.

Avicii's last album only got to #9 and the lead single from this one has only done about as well as the lead single from that album so challenging for #1 was always going to be a bit of a stretch, admittedly I'd probably have predicted it to be comfortably top 5 due to it being a posthumous release etc. but not surprised at it being behind Jonas Brothers and MoStack at least.
