BuzzJack Music Forum _ Madonna _ Opinions On: She's Madonna

I've recently rediscovered this underrated Robbie Williams track. It's based on a conversation had with his ex-girlfriend Tania Strecker, who had previously been in a relationship with Guy Ritchie until he left her for Madonna! It's produced by Pet Shop Boys and inspired by Kraftwerk, got to be one of my favourites from Robbie. What's everyone else's thoughts? Anyone heard it before?

Madonna's a fan of the track, apparently!

I absolutely love this track . I find it captivating.

However the video is hideous and ruins the song for me. Prefer to listen to it !!

It's a great track, I give it the occasional spin still.

Definitely one of my favourite Robbie songs, although I only ever choose to listen to it on its own as it doesn't really fit that well with his other tracks - No Regrets aside. I'm a big PSB fan though so it's their flourishes that make me love it so.

Never heard it, oops! Should I change that?

Yes its a good song, not sure which Madonna its about. This thread got me looking for other chart hits with Madonna in the title:

#26 1996

#86 1986

and another one by a group called Androids but I really don't like it so I won't post it here.

I'd say so! It's not a million miles away from the Confessions sound given it retro-disco vibe and the Pet Shop Boys' input, who have recently worked closely with Stuart Price too. It's one of my favourites from Robbie but it's not very similar to his other work as Dandy pointed out, so you wouldn't necessarily have to be a fan to enjoy this.

'Rudebox' is a bit of a messy album on the whole but 'She's Madonna' is certainly a highlight from it! Love the sophisticated production in particular.

Think manic street preachers have a song with Madonna in the title ?
