Just because everyone thinks it's made up doesn't mean it was made up. The email came from someone very close to Leona so obviously there was alot of praise. The email was LONG af so I only took bits here and there. I don't have the time to make something up like that, I wouldn't even dare lol.
And tbh I don't even know what "to fit in with a dog eat dog" means in that email........
Anyway, y'all can believe what you want. It was my task to spread it and so I did.

I've only just heard the clip, it sounds solid enough but again a bit underwhelming. It reminds me of Emeli Sande's Daddy, which was a bit of a wrong choice of single although I really like it!

I know what you mean - it isn't one of my favourites too. I think the label are pushing 'Thunder' to become a US hit first before releasing it in the UK so they are going to go with something else in the meantime. 'I Am' isn't bad by any means but I think Island are just prioritising selling the album in the UK first which 'I Am' should do.

I am worried by this decision but I am hope Island know what they are doing. Personally, would rather see Thunder pushed in all territories rather than a dual release. Based on the snippet I am sounds alright, but it doesn't wow me which is kinda what Leona needs to catch the british publics attention again.

Exciting! I hope they give the premiere to BBC Radio 1 to try and get them on board with the song. It sounds like something they would support, much more than "Fire Under My Feet".

Radio 1 doesn't really ever playlist an artist after they've snubbed them. They won't get on board part way through the campaign when the first single flopped. I think they should premier with Heart!

September 4th doesn't have much competition, so if they hold it back it should go top 40 with BBC Radio 2/Magic support. I would really hope Heart get on board and it would be great it they premiered it but has Heart premiered songs before?

The production on this really is incredible. My only problem is it seems like a very strong album track rather than a single. Can't see it performing well.

'I Am' is another really solid track and reminds me a little bit of 'Trouble', however there's no chance it'll be playlisted on Radio 1. Radio 2 should continue to support Leona though and hopefully that will result in a top 10 album!

^ Don't think the song will do much anyway even with pre-orders. Hopefully it means we'll get BBC Radio 2 playlisting the song next week and the album pre-order to rise. Album pre-order has risen to #615 on iTunes album chart today after not being in the top 1500 for a while. Assume it's because of "Thunder" being put up on her vevo and "I Am" being available to listen to.

They clearly aren't interested in a hit single, they are focusing on album sales and just want the song out and streaming straight away. I am sure Radio 2 will spin it like crazy, and hopefully this pays off with a decent selling album.

I think "I Am" will make the top 100 on iTunes at least come late August/early September and BBC Radio 2 A-list. Although shame it hasn't cracked the top 200 today yet, but I think that's due to it being an instagrat and instagrat sales not reflecting on the iTunes singles chart.
Hoping the video for "I Am" will be amazing. That's some that let "Fire Under My Feet" down, it hardly got much play on the music channels - it never charted in the top 50 TV play chart. I think with strong BBC Radio 2/Magic support and decent video play (Top 40 on the TV play chart) I think "I Am" could go top 100 on the singles chart and the album top 5.

I'm losing a lot of momentum and excitement for Leona and this era. I mean, I'm looking forward to hearing the album in full, of course - but the tracks so far have been nothing more than 'nice'. Nothing near the feelings I had when I first heard, 'Bleeding Love', 'Happy', 'One More Sleep'. It doesn't help that Island are just throwing out her songs like she has the fanbase of Taylor Swift have to see her new single at 374 the day after release.

It's all in order to sell the album. They have to give the UK another single in between FUMF and the album release and they probably know that without Capital/Radio 1/Heart, the single won't set the charts alight which is why they are focusing on America in order for her success there to influence UK radio.

Basically what I thought 2 months ago but the label could have push leona on the singles chart with more radio friendly singles like IGY 2 that would gather her a better first week album sales than what she will have now choosing these other more "album seller" singles that brought her to not recover on the singles chart and to not sell the album at all..honestly realistically speaking she will open maybe 15k..and than plummet the week after like a rock
So she is loosing twice...the best we can hope at this point is that thunder become a small hit in usa..

I really like 'I Am'. I feel like if it belonged to a previous album era then fans would be loving it! It's wonderfully produced and I can hear Leona's passion in her voice. This song and 'Thunder' have restored my faith that the album could be a great listen, after the disappointing 'Fire Under My Feet'.
Edit: To mention more about the production, I love the Massive Attack vibe to it.

#863 on UK iTunes - surprised it hasn't fallen out the top 1500. Also the album pre-order is at #562 on iTunes. Makes me confident that "I Am" will sell the album well. Airplay should start in 2 weeks time. Hopefully the video will be really good and get lots of play on the TV channels.

I wouldn't get too carried away with the album pre-orders, being at #562 is probably something like 5 or 10 pre-orders in the last day or so. With 'I Am' being a new instant grat it'd have been nice to have seen it in the top 300 at least as that should've given it a boost.
Hopefully we start see worthwhile increases once 'I Am' is playlisted!

Well considering it was outside the top 1500 for quite a few weeks despite FUMF getting very strong airplay from BBC Radio 2, I don't think it's getting too carried away. Also, instagrat sales don't count towards the iTunes singles chart - otherwise I think it would've cracked the top 200. It did manage to go top 300 though - peaked at #238 from what I remember.

I was referring to the album going top 300, because with the release of 'I Am' that should create a lot more pre-orders as people pre-order the album to get 'I Am' instantly, but it hasn't created as many as I would've liked. But it's still an improvement anyway like you say!

Yeah I know, you can download it individually. But most artists usually use instant grats as a way of drumming up pre-orders using the line "pre-order my album now and get these tracks instantly", so that's why I'd have hoped it'd drum up a few more pre-orders than it has.But like you say, it's on the way up anyway so hopefully it will stay stable and climb properly once airplay of 'I Am' begins!

I am looking forward to the video release for this. The song has grown on me a lot since first listen but still feel it is a weak single in comparison to Thunder. Hoping the video will make me connect a bit more to the song. Glad to see it is getting good support from radio 2. Will be interesting to see how this and the album (preorders) do on iTunes over the next few weeks.

The video was shot a couple weeks ago and I'm hoping it'll be out very soon. No info yet on when it might premiere though.

This is actually responding quite well to increasing airplay considering it's not getting support from commercial radio. I think they should really get the video out today as I think it could have a shot at getting played by Heart if it keeps rising on iTunes. Perhaps reducing it to 59p would also be a good idea.

I hope this album goes top 10 ,if it doesn't it will be very worrying. Not that confident about it at the moment which is a shame..

It should quite easily got top 10, top 5 even. Should sell around 10-15k first week. Maybe a little more given such strong BBC Radio 2/Magic FM support and sales picking up with some TV promotion.

BBC Radio 2 have played "I Am" twice today, once during the 6am-9am slot and again at lunchtime. Hopefully we'll get an album track played in the evening.

I haven't seen it yet but I saw some bad reactions on Twitter. That's a shame because that one promo slot was a lot more important than the radio 2 festival which is not properly televised.
Looks like the album fell a position since the performance too.
One tweet that stuck out to me 'Is leona Lewis releasing new songs? I haven't heard from her since 2007'
This is the exact reaction I was hoping Island would try to overcome. Getting her back in the public eye a bit more and having people remember how talented she is.

Tbh, I wouldn't take that seriously. She's from the UK, there's no way she didn't hear from Leona in 2010. Especially in 2008 with Run etc

LOL. Some of you are special. You expect Leona to sound the exact same way she does on a record, reverb, compressions et al included. The performance wasn't bad at all. Her voice just sounded dry...probably just because of bad hydration. She looks pretty. The lotto spot doesn't seem to have done much for the album, time to move on to the next slots. I AM may also be a low-impact song when it comes to tv performances...all the reason why I suggested YKMW for all her tv promo spots. I just think it impacts much better than a lot of the other songs on the album. THUNDER, for example, needs at least seven listens before you properly warm to it. It's perfect for radio because of its gentle brilliance, but live on just the first listen, I don't see how impact get's high.

I actually thought that was a strong performance from Leona. The lotto is not the best platform to push music as people watching it are only bothered about getting their numbers. The fact the video isn't out by this point is just awful though. They really need to just move on now. As much as I like I Am now, it is not a song that hits you on the first listen (or second or third for me tbh). I seriously hope Leona gets an X Factor/strictly slot and performs YKMW/ALS/IGY. Those are the more 'instant' tracks (at least for me) and I think would come across well on a TV live performance. I would say Power, but I don't think that is quite as instant and that one would rely on a perfect performance from Leona to do it justice. Think she would find it easier doing a live performance of the other 3.

I voted for Power for reasons I expressed before. I think her fanbase are going to go for ALS, but it won't cater to her audience at all.

I think as it coming close to the christmas season, You Knew Me When would be the most ideal choice as this is the time of year when ballads usually perform their best. Save ALS/IGY/Power for the new year.
Just been looking at the spotify plays for the tracks from this album (including the single releases). Another Love Song has over double the amount of spins compared to I Am, which has been available to stream much longer as well as having 'good' radio support and tv promo. Just shows really how poor a choice it was as a single. People are simply not that bothered about the song.

So the results from that fan poll were revealed tonight with I Got You in a landslide victory with 48% of the vote, followed by Another Love Song with 16%.

This is the exact reaction I was hoping Island would try to overcome. Getting her back in the public eye a bit more and having people remember how talented she is.
How could they not have though? 'Run' was massive back in 2008, Leona's performed on XF six times since 2007 when the show was watched by ridiculous amounts and 'One More Sleep' got blanket coverage from commercial radio in the UK.
I think there's going to be quite a bit more between now and Christmas. She's already got the BBC Music Awards and the Capital Jingle Ball lined up (from Soe who told us about the now-confirmed Ellen gig). I'm intrigued to see whether the CJB is for definite though since Capital haven't supported Leona so far with this album.

I am hopeful that wasn't just a mistake, they did make a mistake on the German promo and Ellen apparently wasn't confirmed at the time we were told, just in talks or something, so that might not have been set in concrete at the time.
Here is hoping they made some sort of deal with Capital and they heard some of the tracks and said they'd support them, as that would really turn this campaign around.

I doubt she will play at the Capital Jingle Bell Ball unless they randomly decide to support 'Another Love Song'.

I really have my doubts whether we'll even get the video, it was delayed because she wasn't happy with it and apparently they reshot it, but its weird that still nothing has surfaced, except little snippets in tv ads.

I suspect they want to forget I Am, the single, ever existed. I wouldn't be surprised if the video ends up in the vaults due to this, despite that anything would be good promo at this point for the album.

If the video is completed then they should just put it on her Vevo, as you said it would bring some promo to the album, as the song itself is good, even if not single worthy.

I was expecting that, they have had it on the A-List for 3 weeks I think and 1 on the B-List. One more week would have been great, but if it wasn't this week it would have been next week for sure.
I just hope Island get a new single out soon and that it somehow connects.
