Not many of us here will remember this but it was great. About a spaceship that lands on a planet of giant people. Their adventures told in 2 series, 51 episodes.
Repeats of this start on Horror Channel, Freeview 71, on Monday 19th September, same episode at noon and 8pm. |

Ooh thanks for the tip, havent seen it for a couple of decades or 3. I love Irwin Allen shows at the time, though I loved Time Tunnel best, then Lost In Space, then Land Of The Giants. This was originally screened in the Uk on sundays (in Lincolnshire) so I had to watch the show while dashing in to try and catch Alan Freeman's teatime chart rundown. Talk about torn!
Things to love: the clothes, so cool, so tight. Gorgeous cast. Giant things and giant people. Set in the future. A villainous European on board (should go down well these days) - Austrian-born Kurt Kaszner who had the inexplicably Scottish name Fitzhugh, given his strong accent. Great theme tune. |

I love Irwin Allen's TV series, my favourite has to be The Tine Tunnel with Lost In Space and the Land Of The Giants. I'd rather want to forget about the Lost In Space movie though with Matt LeBlanc and Co. And the Champions was also produced and created by Irwin Allen I think.

Yes I remember watching The Champions on Yorkshire TV on Sundays at 1pm in the early 70's. That's been shown a lot on ITV4. I hope Horror show Lost In Space too.

Ooh thanks for the tip, havent seen it for a couple of decades or 3. You're welcome! I haven't seen it since it was first on ITV. Almost bought the box set DVD last year so glad I didn't. Only want to see them once again, am not in to repeated viewings of series. Not sure if they'll show both series but someone on a sci-fi forum says that series 2 is better, as the storylines are more interesting.
