Chart Analysis

In a very non-eventful week for the chart (and indeed there are less entries in the top 40 here than there are projected to be in the UK singles chart) it is another easy week for Nora En Pure at the top with 'Trailblazer'. With three weeks at the top, the song shares the joint record with 'These Days', and also 'Lonely Together', for most weeks spent at the top in 2018. Of course it is more impressive for 'Lonely' considering it had already spent ten weeks at #1 in 2017. Speaking of which, the song drops to #18 this week, its lowest chart position to date.

Moving up to #2 however are CLiQ with 'Wavey' (feat. Alika), which finally lets go of its former #3 peak, a position it held for four non-consecutive weeks. The song is helped by the release of the Wiley remix though it should be noted that the original is still the big seller here. Rudimental and friends drop down a place to complete the top three with 'These Days'.

Jumping into the top five is Virtual Self (Porter Robinson) with 'Ghost Voices' at #4, becoming his fifth top ten hit, which includes the huge 'Language' (#1 for 6 weeks) as well as 'Sad Machine' which peaked at #2. Jax Jones returns to #5 with 'Breathe' (feat. Ina Wroldsen). Also joining the top ten are Darude & Ashley Wallbridge with 'Surrender' (feat. Foux) climbing to #10.

Leaping 22 places off the debut, Andrew Rayel sits at #13 with 'Horizon' (feat. Lola Blanc). Another new single of his, 'Trance ReBorn (FYH100 Anthem)' (a collab with trance producer David Gravell) is the highest brand new entry at #41. Four songs enter the top 40, all of which are climbers.

Russian trance producer Roman Messer gets 'Fireflies' into the top 40 on its fourth week, charting at #37. It features Christina Novelli who gets her fifth chart hit, two and a half years after her previous entry, #3 hit and DNLD BJSC entry 'Same Stars'.

Joining other BJSC entries from Xan Griffin and Purple Haze (down to #34/35) are Brighton production duo Brunelle with 'Ladykiller' (feat. Laura White), which belatedly enters the top 40 at #38, having represented Ramrynia in the contest.

London rapper Not3s has had a few minor top 100 hits, and this week finally gets a top 40 as 'Sit Back Down' (feat. Maleek Berry) climbs 20 places to #39 on its second week. Also repping the London urban scene is Kojo Funds whose 'Check' (feat. RAYE) shoots to #40 on its sixth week (having originally debuted and peaked at #51).

Featured artist RAYE (alongside Jax Jones) is still in the chart lower down with 'You Don't Know Me', which continues its record breaking chart run as it spends its 65th week in the chart at #91. It's not a great week for the long runners though as we have dropouts for Sonny Fodera (42 weeks for 'Always Gonna Be') and TheFatRat (39 weeks for 'Fly Away'). The accolade of second-longest running song now goes to Avicii with both 'Lonely Together' (#18 this week) and 'Without You' (#57 this week), which have now spent 31 consecutive weeks in the chart.

Brand new entries in the top 50 this week come from Andrew Rayel & David Gravell at #41 (as previously mentioned), Garreth Maher at #45 (the song is fairly old now, but it came on at the gym and it sounded amazing) and Marshmello at #47. Outside the top 50 are new entries from Don Diablo, Years & Years, Duke Dumont (on just a single day's sales so expect this to climb a lot next week), Don Diablo (again), Felon and Kelli-Leigh. Re-entries come from Disciples and offaiah.
