This is what you've been waiting for. Over the past few weeks you've been voting for your favourite song that missed the top spot and was at number 2, and a final 50 was made and you've been voting for it. As well as that, you've been voting for what the next game in the Ultimate series will be and the public has decided...
In 2nd place - Ultimate 00s Number Twos Rate (13 votes) And the winner - Ultimate 80s Number Ones Rate (14 votes) Which means we'll be returning with every song that hit number one back in the 80s, the list includes songs by Michael Jackson, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Black Box, Soft Cell, Band Aid and lots of others. Until the results start, you can predict what will come out ontop (there is a clear winner this time) and also where your favourites will chart and what songs will miss the top 40. There will be lots of ties in the game and they will be broken by points scored in the first round (points scored in the wildcard round don't count). I voted for the 00s and was hoping it would win I guess it's my own fault for starting the poll. There are a few good 80s number ones on the other hand but going to the 00s would have been great after 2 games of 90s. I definately WONT be doing 80s number 2s however.

Surprised that 80s number ones won I didn't mind either way, but I did vote for it (sorry!)... could be interesting with some intriguing results as it was before a lot of people here (me included) was even born.
I don't even know every 80s number one, though, unlike the 90s games where I knew everything However, I'll be listening to the ones I don't know on YT/Spotify with each round. As for the winner of this, I still say Common People - although I can't imagine it would have "stormed ahead" so maybe not... |

The results will definatly be interesting, we'll have to see what has stood the test of time on us younger people and what has been lost. My favourite 80s number ones are 'Ride on Time', 'Billie Jean', 'Relax, 'Don't You Want Me'' and 'Tainted Love', surely there's more that I like too Any guesses on what will come last? You won't be too surprised. |

Mariah will surely be last, only a few people gave her positive points and she got loads of -2s (including mine).

50 - Sash! "Encore une Fois" (1997) (+0)
The losing song is by Sash!, who scored no points at all in the round. This is the first of his five number two hits, he has never had a number one hit. Sash's other song in this countdown 'Mysterious Times' is still to come. This post has been edited by danielGaGa: 26th April 2011, 08:39 AM |

Oh, the -2s must have not cancelled out the points she did get then. I'm sure she'll be bottom 10.

49 - The B-52s "Love Shack" (1990) (+4)
This song spent 3 weeks at number 2 behind Beats International and Snap but is more remembered than both of them, unfortunately it has not done well in this and it looked like it would lose on minus points until someone saved it. |

48 - Dr Alban "It's My Life" (1992) (+5)
This also spent 3 weeks at number 2, this time behind The Shaman with their song about ecstasy (E's are good, E's are good). The Dr scored another top 40 hit in April 1993 with 'Sing Hallelujah' before leaving the charts for good (he did have some songs miss the top 40 in 94') |

Awful for It's My Life, it was just outside my points...
Encore Une Fois was a pointless finalist, almost every other Sash! single was better imo. |

This - my favourite by Sash! is 'Ecuador' and I'm sad that this went through yet SL2 and Eminem miss out, both are great songs EUF came closely 7th on the individual round and close to last on the wildcards. I say it's very lucky to make it's way through because no-one voted for it This post has been edited by danielGaGa: 26th April 2011, 09:05 AM |

47 - Gala "Freed From Desire" (1997) (+9)
This song was stopped from going to number one because of P Diddy and Faith Evans. We all know who has had a better career, P Diddy was last seen in the charts this year yet Gala only had 3 top 40 hits including this one which spent eight weeks in the top ten. |

46 - Janet Jackson "That's The Way Love Goes" (1993) (+10)
Janet Jackson entered at number 2 behind Queen & George Michael (rightfully so as this song's a borefest imo). This was her second number two single, her first being 'The Best Things In Life Are Free' with Luther Vandross. Janet has been in the charts as recently as 2009, when her single 'Make Me' entered the charts at the great heights of... 73. |

45 - Mariah Carey "All I Want For Christmas Is You" (1994) (+12)
This may have not reached number one but it is by far her biggest hit in the UK. It spent 3 weeks at number 2 behind East 17, and it keeps returning to the charts every Christmas from 2007 onwards thanks to downloads. It got as high as number 4 in 07', no.12 in 08', no.19 in 09' and no.22 in xmas 2010 (it was number 18 on the first week of that year). So far it has got as high as number 31 this year [2011] but that is likely to change at Xmas. This post has been edited by danielGaGa: 26th April 2011, 09:27 AM |

44 - Urban Cookie Collective "The Key The Secret" (1993) (+12)
This is the first time we've come across a tie, but like I said earlier the song with more individual points wins the tie. There are four way ties in these results but not here. Anyway, on to the song. It is the first of 2 top ten hits that UCC have had, and missed the number one spot twice thanks to Freddie Mercury. The song climbed slowly to its peak, entering the charts at 40 and peaking on it's 6th and 7th weeks. This post has been edited by danielGaGa: 26th April 2011, 09:41 AM |

43 - Madonna "Crazy For You" (1991) (+13)
This is the first of four Madonna songs in these results, and this is the only to miss the top forty. It spent its first week at number 2 behind The Simpsons and its second week behind The Clash before it started to fall. This post has been edited by danielGaGa: 26th April 2011, 09:49 AM |
