They've always been a band I pay attention to. I'm hoping for more consistently great stuff. |

I don't know. Sounds a bit too tame for them, if I'm honest

Nothing is ever going to beat “Revival” is it? I didn't particularly like their last LP (and indeed didn't even bother to chart any of the singles from it) but Halcyon Digest was a brilliant record.
It's good, a bit different for them, has a catchy bassline - sounds a bit bluesy too which I enjoyed. Looking forward to the album! |

I thought Snakeskin was really good. Will be tuning in to the album come October.

I've listened to the tracks on Spotify and have to say SO FAR SO GOOD. I genuinely thought my enthusiasm for them had passed but this is quite a pleasant surprise.

I think I need to listen to this a few more times, but idk, I feel like nothing they do will ever top Cryptograms -> Halcyon Digest for me. I just wholeheartedly love all three (or four if you count Weird Era) of those albums and they're all personally important to me, Halcyon especially. That record is literally just perfect from track 1 on, and "He Would Have Laughed" is probably my favorite album closer of all time. Like I liked a lot of songs from Monomania and I'm sure with more listens I'll like a lot of songs on this record as well, but idk.
