This seemed to be pretty popular at Comic Con so I guess it's time to get the hype train chugging. Kong looks absolutely gigantic which I think is going to be pretty excited and already weeing myself a bit at the idea of the Godzilla vs. Kong movie after this. This isn't one of my most hyped movies but the cast is stellar and the action looks so fun so I am looking forward to this.
Not too long to go when you think about it
This looks terrible, and yet entertaining in the same way that trashy B-Movies are
Looks quite good. The only thing I don't like is that they seem to have a thing of doing monsters that are TOO big to fit on the screen... but looks good! Plus Tom Hiddleston/Brie Larson should be great together!
EDIT: Oh and here's another full trailer
Really enjoyed this! Lots of action to keep people entertained, but just about enough plot to balance it out a bit. I thought Brie and Tom were wasted and under used and the tone was a bit over the place, but it was easily enjoyable and gripping enough. I preferred it to 'Godzilla' and I really liked that.
Very happy with it. Definitely the best King Kong movie to date, imo.
I had a great time watching this too, the action was really enjoyable to watch and all of the design on the animals was great. The skullcrawlers looked really gruesome and I loved how HUGE Kong was. The cast were all a bit wasted imo as they pretty much all did nothing interesting (John C. Reilly was fun and I still liked seeing Brie Larson in another film anyway) but the focus was deservedly on the animals and they were really cool so I didn't mind too much (my favourite scene was probably Kong vs the helicopters, he was brutal!). The ending left it on a good cliffhanger too, would love a sequel taking off from there.
Yeah, I thought this was a lot of fun too. I loved the scale, and the design of some of the monsters. The giant tree spider thing was so grim.
Amazing movie. Excellent action, utterly brilliant visuals (Jordan Vogt-Roberts is clearly a talent to watch for the future), the monsters were fantastic (the water buffalo and the sad giant camouflaged stick insect slayed me) and it even had a bit of heart. Left films like Fantastic Beasts and Doctor Strange in the dust.
Yeah the Stick Insect was amazing!
They got the emotion spot on
As I was watching this I couldn't help but think that re-making Apocalypse Now with King Kong in it was a brilliant idea.
Great film there topped the 2005 film for sure. Gutted I missed the post credits scene though.
A great film to watch with the dialogue turned off. Very silly, very cliched. Great-looking action sequences, and John Goodman could read a telephone directory and make it sound good - he's by far the best performance, everyone else is either OTT (Hi Samuel J) or phoning it in.
5/10, the oldies featured in the choice of songs is good though! Retro, Good Morning Vietnaaaaam!
John C. Reilly was neither OTT nor phoning it in. He was great.
I loved this so much I saw it twice HA
John C. Reilly was a highlight for me too.
I saw Kong: Skull Island not too long ago... i loved the cinematography, was beautifully shot. Sam Jackson's and John C Reiley's character were interesting... the others not so much. Solid monster fights, some of the best ive seen in a loooooong time. Give it a 3.5/5
I didn't think it was that amazing tbh. It seemed to go on forever and the final battle was a bit underwhelming.
