Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by Boasty. I think Nicki's the weakest part of it, but Sean and Idris are brilliant. Particularly Idris' verse as it is hilarious laugh.gif

Will be interesting to see how Emeli does, but I have a gut feeling she won't even trouble the Top 40.

not really, the patterns are very different

Emeli had a massive seller debut (2.4 mil), then a semi-flop 2nd era (200k)

Joss Stone's first two albums did roughly the same (around 1 million), while none was that big as Emwli

Emeli's pattern is more like Leona Lewis or Sam Smith

I would say Emeli's closer to Duffy than Leona or Sam really.

guess you guys are right, I actually thought Duffy's 2nd album had done virtually zero... considering how crappy is the market right now, I kinda see Emeli sanders performance similar to Leona too

Our version of events 2.4 mil > Long live the angels 225K

Rockferry 2.2 mil > Endlessly 150k

Spirit 3.17 mil > Echo 600K

She is on NMF but very low down. I don't expect the song will do anything.

Emeli reminds me of Leona also.

Also for me both Emeli and Leonas follow up (album 2) was better than their huge debut eras.

I'd definitetely say Leona's second album/era was considerably more successful than Emeli's even taking into account the market changes.

I think Leona and Sam's trajectories so far are a valid comparison though. Maybe he'll have his Glassheart next time?

Echo by Leona was in no way a flop. It didn't get anywhere near to the level of Spirit granted, but it did 600k + in total and went number 1 on huge opening sales. As others have said, Emeli did a Duffy with her second album.
