Did anyone catch this programme on Channel 5 last Friday which showed you clips of 'Bad TV' in the 90s?
These were the ones that were featured: 1990: Heil Honey I'm Home Wayne Hussy Drunk Interview on James Whale The Radio Show Sky Star Search- The Escape Artist who failed to escape from his own cloth bag. 1991: Bernard Manning on Des O'Connor Tonight The Word- Ivy Tilsey signing, The Hopefuls After Dark: Oliver Reed drunk Smash Hits Winners Party- Philip Schofield being rugby tackled by a member of Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine. 8:15 To Manchester- Roger Black & Kriss Akabusi singing 1992: Eldorado Ghostwach 1993: Julian Clary comment at British Comedy Awards 1994: Richard Littlejohn Live And Uncut- Michael Winner's response over Richard Littlejohn's comments about lesbians. Catchpharse Snake Charmer 1995: L!VE TV 1996: The Girlie Show, Shaun Ryder on TFI Friday Paul Shane singing on Pebble Mill, Gamesmaster Dave Perry 'Britain's Greatest Gamer' moaning about Super Mario 64 1997: Eurotrash- Lolo Ferrari Is Painting Dead?- Tracey Emin drunken rant Hugh Fearnley-Whittinghall TV Dinners 'Placenta' Pate 1998: Changing Rooms 1999: Jerry Springer Show: I Married A Horse Something For The Weekend- Denise Van Outen What were your worst TV moments from the 90s? |

"Worst TV"?
Julian Clary's brilliant outburst and Fruitbat sorting out cheeky git Pip Schofield are two of the best ever TV moments. Ditto the Catchphrase snake charmer and Paul Shane. Really should point out that "The Hopefuls" were not on The Word from the beginning. That was added during the highly desperate last series I think. Instead there was "Les Miserables" where people would try to cheery up a morose cartoon with their antics. Much, much better. A lot of the rest really is awful. Wayne Hussey pretty much kept James Whale's rubbish show on TV for another couple of years I think. I mean, what other show would give time to Jerry Hayes and Baz Bamigboye? |

Heil Honey I'm Home really is as awful as it's made out to be. I'm all for comedy that pushes barriers, but a sitcom where the Hitlers have to stop their Jewish neighbours from interfering with their dinner plans with Neville Chamberlain is probably taking it a bit too far. Plus, it's not that funny.
