All the rumours doing the rounds that Miley's got new material coming v. soon (probably this month).
I don't want none of this Dead Pets nonsense, give me more Bangerz pls. Either way, I'm really interested to see what route she goes down next!
Apparently the lead single is called Malibu and is a "beachy anthem" - it's dropping May 12th

Song of the summer incoming?
SO READY 😍
I am so here for this, I know she has a song of the summer in her and this is gonna decimate *.*
Omg I'm ready! Her lead singles always deliver <3
She seems normal again!
Intrigued!
Really really excited for this! Loved her billboard interview and this sounds very promising!
I hope Miley comes and saves Pop.
Debut single is called 'Malibu' apparently her album is going to be more country! Miles serving those Joanne teas
The snippet for Malibu is incredible. I'm ready
So excited for this.

Hmm...
Hmm...
Not as instant or as in your face as I was expecting, but I think once I'm used to it, I think I'll grow to really appreciate it!
The video is really cute though!
Love this so much, best thing Miley has done in ages!!
After Dead Petz, I am scared to listen!
Not the comeback I wanted in the slightest. I predicted following 'Bangerz' that she would return with her natural look and a more mature sound but I'm so disappointed with 'Malibu'. It's good that she doesn't care for chart success because I can't see radios touching this anywhere if I'm being honest.
I love this, it's so cute.
I'd love another Bangerz (I'd say it's up there with the best pop albums of the last ten years or so with Blackout etc.) but it's good for her to switch up her sound. I was worried she'd go too country.
As for radios not touching it...it's say it's actually really radio-friendly!
It's obviously catered for the US, and the US only. Sounds country.
Anyway I kinda like it buts it's just a non-event. Expected and wanted much more 'oomph' from her.
It's not really like country it just has influences, I can see this being big! It's very breezy and carefree, perfect for summer. I feel like it's the sort of thing Lana Del Rey might release if she went a bit more upbeat and countrier. I love it anyway
Such a refreshing song, while I loved the Bangerz singles I'm so glad that my Miley is finally back without any attention seeking or pretentiousness - which I know probably wasn't really her and it was totally for headlines and sales which worked perfectly. And it's a completely new sound for her as well, but it feels natural. It's quite OneRepublic sounding to me, but with a Miley stamp through the country influences. Really really great, she's back!
Country? This is pop.
It's nice, laid back, relatable, and I can see it going either way. It sounds a bit like if Modest Mouse did a pop song.
Excited to hear this! Shall wait til tomorrow morning, however just letting y'all know that this'll probably get Spotify playlist support from the off, so we'll get a good indicator of whether it'll be big or not right from the off
I like it, totally not what you'd expect from her.
I think radio will pick it up and it'll be one of those moderate summer hits
I like it, very country pop but still quite catchy. Hope she does well with this one
this is lovely! defo agree with that lana comparison from liam
I think this could be better if they trimmed the second verse, and beefed up or extended the chorus towards the end.
After listening in HQ I really like it! Country-pop for sure though.
It's a cute song, I get feeling from it. She looks properly stunning in the video!
Demure Miley is coming as quite a shock to me though.
I really think this is rather lovely.
I think the video really adds to that breezy feeling it has also.
I'm not sure it will be a massive hit but bravo for going against what was expected and really doing something that feels wonderfully natural.
Okay there are people here who AREN'T loving this?
OTS SO SUBTLE
#1 on US iTunes!
This is really good! Just what I wanted from her, I got tired of her image during the Bangerz era (found it very forced) so this is a welcome change for me. Musically though this is up there with We Can't Stop and Wrecking Ball as one of my faves by her already!
I really like this very simple and really reminds me of Lana Del Rey which is not a bad thing in the slightest
This reminds me of something but I can't put the name on it
Absolutely adore this. That last chorus is everything.
Gorgeous song/vid! Wb Miley *.*

I really like it, I just wanted straight up high key banger from her But it's really nice and chill
Not as instant as the likes of Wrecking Ball/We Can't Stop but I'm really liking the more chilled out sound and it's already grown massively after just two listens. I quite agree with Harry that it sounds a bit like something Lana Del Rey would do if she went a bit more upbeat with her output. So pleased with the worldwide performance of this so far as well, hoping it can be a huge smash hit for her!
It sounds more Norah Jones than Lana Del Rey to me, I could certainly see this being a big hit, or at least never off the radio.
Quite a lovely song actually, not quite up there with Wrecking Ball, but I'd gladly take this over the forced mess that was the last era.

Amazing
Officially in love with this. Radio 1, Radio 2 and Heart will eat this up. Think it'll be big.
Two listens in and potentially my favourite thing she's ever done?! That may be heavily influenced by the fact I'm lazing around hungover and this hit me out of nowhere to complement my mental state perfectly, but the song and video make such a heartfelt, dreamy, pretty little package that I know I'll revisit above her other stuff.
I'm generally ambivalent to her as a personality and artist but always loved the country tone to her voice. Her 'Summertime Sadness' cover utilises it magnificently and I was immediately reminded of that on hearing 'Malibu', so yeah the Lana comparisons are definitely there for me too. Also, she's got frolicking-around-while-flirting-with-the-camera down to an absolute TEE. The camera loves her~

Sounds PHENOMENAL live for this being her first performance of that song!
I'm glad to see this doing well! It's got smash written all over it.
This is incredible. So instant and catchy.
Have been listening to this song on repeat so much, definitely my favourite song of the year so far and one of Miley's best. It's probably my 3rd favourite Miley song already behind Drive & Permanent December, and I love how all 3 are so different to one another.
amazin
Sounds like Milky Chance and second-era Lumineers so I'm all over it and hoping there's more where this came from!
Debuted at #64 on Billboard with half a day sales!
Already outleaking Bon appetit 👀
I'm expecting this to go top five in the US which surprises me! Her streaming really is rather incredible isn't it? I'm just hoping her billboard performance and rumoured voice performance is enough to ensure another top 3 hit for her! She's #9 on Spotify right now, #2 on iTunes and gathering good YouTube views!
'Malibu' is also expected to debut top 15 in the U.K which is a decent enough result, still think with a stronger song she could have debuted top five!
Slaying worldwide on Spotify and not even in any big playlists yet!
Heard this for the first time on Capital today and I'm hooked, really good!
This could reach number 1 easily in the US and maybe even the UK with promo. This is definitely a huge hit.
I'm pretty hooked on this.
Debuted at #11 in U.K. And #2 in scotland!
3 in Australia!
What are the latest predictions for US?
Predicted for 11 in the US...
Not a bad song. I don't like her new hair or the things she said about hip-hop culture recently. You can change your tastes without dissing everyone else who likes something.
Interesting new direction she's going down now though.
I read an interview where she said she hates 'Wrecking Ball' and can no longer stand to listen to it.
#11 in a massive climb in America (She would have got top 10 had she not released a day early) and she has Billboard, Voice finale and Today Show next week so I can see it managing a top three peak which is better than what I imagine
Miley slaying Selena worldwide though *.*
Massive grower for me this.
#10 on Billboard Hot 100.
What happened to the #2-#4 predictions?
It doesn't seem to be connecting overally well with the general public? It's streaming has somewhat stalled, although she was never really high in any playlists. She's promoted 'Malibu' incredibly well in the US with almost every radio station and performances on Today Show, Billboard Music Awards and Voice Finale. It's currently sitting at #18 on USA iTunes, not sure it will manage a new peak in America but I'm a bit disappointed that her comeback didn't go top 5 at least! Hopefully she manages top 1 in the UK but a discount might be needed to ensure that!
It's doing fine
I feel like the GP like 'malibu' ?! Shes not promoted in once in the UK & shes still top 20 on iTunes?!
It has good airplay
It's a shame that she's been so low on all Spotify playlists, Spotify really has been her let down in both US and UK which is weird considering how well she usually does with streaming!
Ah well, #11 is still good. It has held up well too!
Heart London play this a lot. I don't know any of her previous stuff but I really like this song and I'm going to download it.
I think this song has wide appeal across all generations.
'Malibu' has 2 million pure sales worldwide making this her fifth biggest song.
