131. CHRIS BROWN FT. LIL WAYNE, TYGA, FRENCH MONTANA & TOO $HORT - LOYAL (-110 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 1
OCC PEAK: 10 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 10
AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 2
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 19
POSITIVE VOTES: 7
NEGATIVE VOTES: 33
RUN: 10
AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -110

The first song to appear on the countdown which only lasted one week in contention is "Loyal", although "I'm A Freak" had a worse week than "Loyal" by 17 points. The problem I have with this song is solely to do with questionable lyric content of the original version. The song itself is alright and quite catchy.

130. TIËSTO - RED LIGHTS (-109 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 2
OCC PEAK: 6 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 10
AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 3
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 14
POSITIVE VOTES: 20
NEGATIVE VOTES: 52
RUN: 10-10
AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -54.5

I loved Tiësto's output that didn't chart previously to this year, if you had only heard his output in the Top 40 this year you may be mistaken for thinking he's a Avicii wannabe, as this song in particular is so faceless and generic any producer could have done it, but none should be proud of it.

Red lights is amazing. At the very least it should be finishing above Wasted anyway...

129. CHERYL COLE FT. TINIE TEMPAH - CRAZY STUPID LOVE (-109 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 4
OCC PEAK: 1 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 8
AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 7
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 21
POSITIVE VOTES: 46
NEGATIVE VOTES: 74
RUN: 6-7-9-9
AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -27.25

Here's Cheryl's pop comeback at #129. Before anyone (Joseph) says anything I know she's credited as "Cheryl" now, but it hurts my database to list her as two names, so she's forever more 'Cole' on this chart. To the song in the question, it's pretty weak compared to her other lead singles (yes I loved "Promise This") and never seems to go anywhere, still she has another hit still left. Crazy Stupid Love finishes higher than Red Lights as it recieved seven "+5"s compared to RL's three.

I am aware of your database cause you've explained this to me before kink.gif (you might as well change her to Cheryl with all songs though cause she won't be going back to her cheating ex-husband's surname anytime soon ph34r.gif) Crazy Stupid Love should be a LOT higher anyway, really good pop song.

128. 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER - SHE LOOKS SO PERFECT (-109 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 2
OCC PEAK: 1 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 9
AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 9
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 23
POSITIVE VOTES: 24
NEGATIVE VOTES: 49
RUN: 10-7
AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -54.5

2014 has been a bit of a turnaround for me as I have enjoyed many a boyband single of the year, although this isn't my favourite I don think it's a solid pop song that is very radio-friendly but never got too played. She Looks So Perfect finishes higher than Crazy Stupid Love as it recieved nine "+5"s compared to CSL's seven.

127. ED SHEERAN - SING (-108 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 8
OCC PEAK: 1 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 7
AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 8
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 18
POSITIVE VOTES: 121
NEGATIVE VOTES: 147
RUN: 5-4-5-6-8-8-8-9
AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -13.5

The second of Sheeran's three T10s fall out leaving "Don't" as his sole contender left. It's also the third OCC#1 to drop out in a row, but fear not there's still 22 left. I enjoyed "Sing" and have it on my iPod, can sometimes be get a bit old, but in all a good track for Ed's FIRST EVER UK #1.

126. DJ FRESH & JAY FAY FT. MS. DYNAMITE - DIBBY DIBBY SOUND (-106 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 3
OCC PEAK: 3 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 8
AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 3
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 19
POSITIVE VOTES: 35
NEGATIVE VOTES: 59

AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -35.3333

Next is DJ Fresh with Jay Fay and Ms. Dynamite, their single can be quite enjoyable under the right circumstances, however I listen to each song before I do this brief commentary and it started inducing an headache, so it's got that going against it, probably best of in a club atmosphere.

But why does she credit herself as "Cheryl Cole" on the YouTube page and single cover for CSL though? It seems like CSL was actually released under Cheryl Cole but IDC (and all her 2012 stuff) was released under just the name Cheryl lol.

Anyway, RIP Red Lights, Loyal and Dibby Dibby Sound! wub.gif

Crazy Stupid Love was released as "Cheryl Cole", you're correct, her marriage hadn't happened when this was announced I believe. New artwork has actually been released for the track with just "Cheryl" on but this hasn't been amended on iTunes at all. It's under "Cheryl" on the album anyway. Personally I'd change it all to Cheryl (I have for my personal chart and iTunes) because she won't be releasing under "Cheryl Cole" at all in the future but obviously I see why Leonardo has kept the latter for now biggrin.gif

Low for these songs imo:

134 "Maps" - Maroon 5
sad.gif I'm the only one who likes this track sad.gif

135 "Bang Bang" - Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj
I don't think it's this bad but hey, it doesn't matter for this song I think.

138 "Money On My Mind" - Sam Smith
I'm wondering why this is so low tbh

144 "All About That Bass" - Meghan Trainor
ohmy.gif

146 "Steal My Girl" - One Direction
This 1D track grown on me a lot recently

All the other songs are deservingly low (or evenshould've been lower laugh.gif) or just I don't really care if it's low or higher.

I have changed Cheryl Cole to just 'Cheryl' in my spreadsheets as she's released 2 albums under each name now and as Joseph is eager to point out there's pretty much zero chance she'll ever release anything as 'Cheryl Cole' again, so it's only a matter of waiting for her to release another album for 'Cheryl' to outweigh 'Cheryl Cole'.

125. DAVID GUETTA FT. SKYLAR GREY - SHOT ME DOWN (-99 POINTS)

WEEKS IN TOP TEN: 2
OCC PEAK: 4 (1wk)
RESHUFFLE AVERAGE POSITION: 10
AMOUNT OF 5's RECIEVED: 0
AMOUNT OF -5's RECIEVED: 16
POSITIVE VOTES: 18
NEGATIVE VOTES: 46
RUN: 9-10
AVERAGE WEEKLY SCORE -49.5

David Guetta has produced a former YE Winner in the form of "Titanium" along with Sia, he has two more chances left in this countdown, and thankfully they are better than this attempt. While Sonny Bono's "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" is undoubtedly a classic which would make for a great dance interpretation, this was already done by the Audio Bullys in 2005, rendering this version completely pointless.
