Official Charts Report

QUOTE
Benson Boone is set for a second week at the Official Singles Chart summit with Beautiful Things. The single became the Washington-born singer-songwriter’s first UK chart-topper last week.

This week’s highest new entry could come courtesy of Olivia Rodrigo. obsessed, lifted from Olivia’s deluxe GUTS (spilled) edition of her 2023 Number 1 album, eyes a Number 6 debut; potentially becoming her 12th Top 10 single.

Following the release of their collaborative record WE DON’T TRUST YOU, Future and Metro Boomin expect to see three tracks impact the Top 20; Like That (7), Type Shit (11) and title track We Don’t Trust You (14).

Finally, Irish singer-songwriter Hozier hopes to earn a fourth Top 40 single with brand-new song Too Sweet, currently tracking for a Number 16 debut.

Really hoping Future & Metro's album could maybe hit #1 this week on the albums chart, I'm predicting maybe 16-18K as an opening figure? I think Elbow's last album only opened with 16K last time and that was in Q4 iirc.

It’s hard to predict I think! Elbow’s last album cycle was quite low-key, and didn’t go down with fans as well as their previous album which sold 27k in 2019.

This one’s had a lot of positive press behind it so far & their best reviews in years, so I expect them to sell more than 16k.

I have a feeling this is gonna be another #2 peak for Ariana, little bit of a shame considering yes and? managed it but I expect WCBF to hang around the top a lot longer.

edit: Nevermind lol yes and? didn’t even get the #1

I'm not a big fan of Elbow (terrible band name too!) or Future & Metro, so I'd be here for Ariana getting a 3rd week if that's on the cards (highly unlikely though that is).

Before we have this week's First Look, a quick reminder that next Sunday - Easter Sunday - there will be no first look show on Radio 1.

Looking at last year, the OCC did not give us an update either until Tuesday -

No Hottest Record, though Olivia Rodrigo - obsessed was played just before the show as the Tune of the Weekend.
