One of the best national finals of the 2018 season is coming back in January 2019 with the full lineup being announced today. There will be 90 second clips of the songs released on December 20th but some of them (Ugo, Emmanuel Moire and Mazy's songs in particular) have already been released in full.
The line-up is: Florina – “In The Shadows” Aysat – “Comme une grande” (Like a grown up) Ugo – “Ce qui me blesse” (What hurts me) Chimène Badi – “Là-haut” (Up there) Silvàn Areg – “Le Petit Nicolas” (Little Nicholas) Gabriella – “On cherche encore” (We’re still searching) Doutson – “Sois un bon fils” (Be a good son) Seemone – “Tous les deux” (The both of us) The Divaz – “La voix d’Aretha” (Aretha’s voice) Emmanuel Moire – “La promesse” (The promise) Tracy de Sà – “Por Aqui” (Around here) Battista Acquaviva – “Passio” (Passion) Lautner – “J’ai pas le temps” (I don’t have the time) Philip Elise – “Madame la paix” (Madam Peace) Bilal Hassani – “Roi” (King) Mazy – “Oulala” Noémie – “Ma petite famille” (My little family) Naestro – “Le brasier” (The blaze) My early tip for someone to watch out for is Naestro but if the standard's anything like last year then something high quality could come from anywhere! |

Oh that's a bit disappointing, it's giving me Rag'n'Bone Man - Human teas a bit :/
Him and Chimene are the only artists I know from the list, so I'm sure there will be some little surprises in terms of the good stuff that comes out of this! |

I'm looking forward to see Emmanuel Moire, hope he's got a good song.

Go to their twitter page for sneak previews of all the tracks, not to mention the plethora more that are now out in full. Some LexC picks from what's out in full so far

Ugh, the selection is crap this year. I didn't expect it to go backwards but there is a huge amount of half-baked stuff here. 'Roi' is getting so much interest but it bores the hell out of me and Bilal can be much more interesting than that.

The full version of Bilal Hassani's "Roi" is up via this million views in a day viral lyric video
And you can catch Bilal along with eight other acts THIS Saturday night in the first Heat. Screw Festival i Kenges, the first National Final with some actual production values means Eurovision season 2019 really has BEGUN! |

I haven't taken the time to check out any of the other entries yet but I am entirely on board with "Roi"! I love the message in the lyrics and it feels like a great artist + song package.
(and apparently it was co-written by Madame Monsieur!) |

So this isn't a great selection, such a shame as they really set the bar so high last year. My favourite from the snippets was probably The Divaz, come through French Afro-Dite! Hoping to be pleasantly surprised by a few of them when the live shows roll around.

If this wins it's going to be a fan favourite for sure given it looks like a total package at this stage |

I love the idea/rest of the package with Bilal but I'm not huge on the actual song I'm hoping it's one of those that comes alive with the actual performance and as the season gets going more, I'm sure it will as this is similar to my initial thoughts on Mercy.

T minus 1 hour until the semi begins, you can watch this all live on Destination Eurovision's FaceBook page; Battista Acquaviva, Mazy, Naestro, Aysat, Lautner, Bilal Hassani, Florina and Silvan are the 9 songs going up in this so that's a lot of the good ones up here!

Future generations will tell of the slow motion car crash that those watching ‘Passio’ have just witnessed!
