I see the top 8 this morning are all by 'various artists' - I don't recall seeing that happening before.

Yes, you are right although I suppose technically The La La Land Album is a Motion Picture Cast Recording even though it is listed as Various Artists. Looking forward to them all being Elbow-ed down the chart tomorrow... |

6. Pete Tong, The Heritage Orchestra, Jules Buckley - Classic House This has really clicked with me this week Haven't heard any of the re-interpretations, but since I love dance music with violin/strings, I definitely should see what they are like. In the various artists ones 'I Love Trance' is still number 1, which is weird because there haven't been any trance top 40 hits around for the last 10 years or so. I am guessing it is older people who remember the trance era buying this one rather than the teenagers who usually buy music on iTunes. I suppose some of the tracks like 'You're Not Alone', 'Insomnia' and 'Sandstorm' are iconic and appeal to non trance fans. It's a great compilation album anyway. |

Poor album release week, potentially 3 new albums, I think Rag'N'Bone Man will hold that #1 album till Ed Sheeran releases his new album in March.

Think you may be forgetting Stormzy's Album - released on the 24th February. I agree re Rag 'N' Bone man holding on this week though. BRITS week is traditionally a week with no major releases although the fact that the ceremony is on Wednesday Evening reduces the impact on this week's chart. |

Think you may be forgetting Stormzy's Album - released on the 24th February. I'm really not sure about his album, that music genre is not everyone's cup of tea, I maybe wrong. I also think TT might get a week at #1, and get replaced by Ed Sheeran the week after, it really depends how well Ed Sheeran is selling into its third week. |

I agree re TT, they should still be strong enough for a week - Q1 has been fairly strong for new Releases, James Blunt, Depeche Mode, Zara Larsson, Tinie Tempah & Paul Weller would probably challenge for the top spot if they had held back to Q2 or Q3 but they will probably all miss out. |
