Doing very well at the moment, this is the breakthrough hit from US musician 'Teddy Swims'! A bit like Sam Ryder, he was also in a metal band a few years ago. laugh.gif

I'm loving this at the moment though! Hopefully it can go Top 10 in the coming weeks.

It’ll be safely in the top 10 tomorrow!

I don’t mind it, it just a bit meh for me but it’s by no means a bad song. I just can’t really get fully into it.

I quite like this. Although surely it belongs in the R&B forum?!

I like his voice to some degree but the oversinging does ruin my enjoyment overall of it. Not surprised at all that he was in a metal band haha!

Why? If anything it should be in Indie.

This is a great song, it's Rag n Bone Man meets Maverick Sabre.

I wasn’t sure which one to put him in really! Pretty much every article about him describes his music as “genre blurring”. laugh.gif

I've only just seen what he looks like and it's completely thrown me, all this time I just assumed he was a young black R&B/soul singer ohmy.gif

It does sound like a cross between R&B and indie, very Rag'n'Bone Man. Genre blurring is a very apt synopsis!

I would agree with putting this in the R&B forum, I know Wikipedia categorisation isn't foolproof but the only genres listed for it there are R&B and soul. It's also tagged only as 'pop soul' on RateYourMusic. Definitely wouldn't put it in the Indie forum but then again as always I must remember that BuzzJack's description of indie also includes vaguely alternative pop.

The genre debate is probably more interesting than the actual song here kink.gif it's ok I suppose x

It’s a tricky one! I usually like to have an artist’s music all in the same forum, and I’d probably class his other music as mainly just standard pop with a bit of country and R&B thrown in.

Airplay sounds about right, it doesn’t count towards the ARIA chart but radio in Australia has been slamming this song. Not as much as Beautiful Things (which is actually #1) but I put that down to one of them actually being an enjoyable song wink.gif

but this borefest is gonna go to #1 cos of airplay :/
