Confused as to the lack of push for "Real Friends"!

Posted by: Jonjo 19th September 2018, 06:31 AM

What a mess.

Just move on now if you're not gonna bother with the obvious smash.

I guarantee this will only be so she has a ballad for XF.

Posted by: Dexton 19th September 2018, 06:40 AM

Any chance whoever is in charge of running her singles campaign ran Taylor’s too?

Posted by: Bjork 19th September 2018, 06:48 AM

they're really useless

Posted by: Juliano 19th September 2018, 10:34 AM

Oh God. I didn't even realise Real Friends had been given any kind of push, this is a nice song, but She Loves Control is the album seller, hopefully it will be that 6th single that smashes. (New Rules.2)

Posted by: danG 19th September 2018, 10:45 AM

Why the f*** are they not pushing She Loves Control already?!? Real Friends has done absolutely nothing and neither will this.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 19th September 2018, 10:47 AM

They're idiots. Utter bloody brainless idiots.

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 19th September 2018, 10:51 AM

I’m so confused by what their doing with her

Posted by: Esmerelda 20th September 2018, 05:05 PM

Is this the Syco effect?

Posted by: Jordan Lee 20th September 2018, 08:23 PM

I think it’s the best choice for winter personally and I think this is the album seller too ballads sell albums and this will help push her album over winter as I imagine she’s getting X Factor promo at least too.

Posted by: HarryEzra 20th September 2018, 08:26 PM

I'm so confused what's the actual single

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 20th September 2018, 09:12 PM

Mb in Europe but i really don’t see this doing much. Not sure what happened with ‘real friends’.

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 20th September 2018, 11:00 PM

'She Loves Control' has been THE craziest missed opportunity. It was a nailed-on top 5 both here and in the US, but I think they may have messed around so much that it's probably too late now though even if they were to go for it.

She's confirmed this as the final single from the album with a new orchestral version to be released tomorrow:

QUOTE
a new version of consequences called consequences (orchestra) is gonna come out tomorrow night at midnight ET, and it’s going to be the song I choose as my last single from my album- a lot of people say ballads like this are “risky” and with every single i’ve picked i get looks like i have three heads, because people always want you to go with a song that sounds like something that’s already on the radio. it would be playing it safe for me to make a song that sounds like Havana or another uptempo song, but to me, my goal is to challenge myself by not doing what feels predictable or obvious, to do things that excite me, and give you the most honest representation of who I am through music. i know sometimes it’ll work and other times it’ll fail, but thats okay with me. no matter what this song does, i wanted to close this era finishing on a song that makes you feel, that makes you think about someone you loved and lost, that makes you think about what it’s like to love someone so deeply. if this era tugs on your heart strings even a little bit, that’s all i care about. the video comes out very soon and it’s the one I’m proudest of so far, and I’ll be performing this at the AMA’s in a couple days. love only, Camila

I have to agree with literally everyone about the missed opportunity that was "She Loves Control" but I don't think this song is as bad as most of you are making it out to be. "Real Friends" was cute too but I don't understand her reasoning behind not wanting to release a song similar to "Havana" (SLC) then releasing two ballads in a row...

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 8th October 2018, 11:28 AM

Real friends was a missed opp

Posted by: Jack 8th October 2018, 11:38 AM

I appreciate her reasoning behind it all, I like that she seems to have some authenticity to her. I really like 'Consequences', it's not my fave on the album and as far as ballads go I prefer 'Something's Gotta Give' and 'All These Years' but it's still a really strong song - the whole album is! Maybe with a new production and a live performance could elevate it.

Ooft im here for the orchestral version!

Posted by: Rob 8th October 2018, 02:38 PM

It's good that she wants to take a risk but she needs to be careful. She's still a relatively new artist starting out and the hype from Havana died down a long time ago.

RIP She Loves Control </3

Posted by: Tawdry Hepburn 9th October 2018, 08:28 AM

Why did her manager announce on Twitter that 'She Loves Control' would be the third single and it never happened? I really don't get that at all.

Posted by: lewistscream 9th October 2018, 05:48 PM

Video coming tomorrow!

Posted by: KWEEN_DEE 9th October 2018, 07:23 PM

I can only hear a difference in the second verse

Posted by: Hans 9th October 2018, 07:28 PM

This is a pretty stunning song actually, stands out on its own, liking the orchestral addition too (as subtle as it may be).

Posted by: Theo. 10th October 2018, 03:56 PM

I do really like this song but I just don't think she's at the stage in her career yet to put out such a risky single - it feels like they're trying to make it her "Perfect", video and all, but even after performing it last night at the AMAs, it's only #45 on US iTunes (album version is #76).

Posted by: JosephAvery 11th October 2018, 08:23 PM

Beautiful video and the song is a stunner too, the orchestra version isn't hugely different but I like the subtle touches it does add wub.gif

Posted by: Jordan Lee 14th October 2018, 10:43 AM

I Love This. Can see this being big with an X Factor performance and should push album sales in Q4 too smart single choice. wub.gif
