I've got Iran (and Switzerland) in the sweepstake at work - so pleased with the result... even if they're going to have to have to face Spain and Portugal next and probably be out biggrin.gif

Yes get in Iran! (My stepmother is Iranian so I have reasons to support them) love a cheeky upset too. What a shit week for Moroccan football with this & losing the hosting rights. At least they've got Portugal & Spain to look forward to losing to laugh.gif

In a wider perspective I sense the Russia game was an exception & we're in for our usual round of drab boring group games. After Portugal winning the euros playing defensive football I get the feeling everyone will try and win the same way.

Hell this game is an epic. Best game so far, and I thought it would be dull because I've seen both teams been horrendously boring too many times in the past.

Plus this is good for the unlikely but STILL POSSIBLE prospect of both Spain and Portugal going out.

Now that was a hell of a game, best first round match I can remember. Crazy that Spain were so dominant and relaxed after that first error and then they make another one with an inkling of time to go and lose it drama.gif I feel for them as that third goal was incredible, but you can't take any chances with Ronaldo.

That last goal was insane. I can only imagine what was going on in Portugal and Spain at that point. Even here the bar crowd that consisted of neutral fans from other countries went crazy.

Well I'm happy to be proven wrong almost immediately (especially given that I specifically referred to Portugal, although on reflection I was a little harsh as I recalled they were embroiled in another 3-3 at the last major).

WHAT A MATCH! Half the goals were incredible, I only hope this tourno hasn't peaked too soon!

The Portugal vs. Spain game is the best match of the tournament so match, it was thrilling to watch from start to finish, more games like that please. Some of the goals were exceptional.
