With the release of "Elita" last week, how would you rank it amongst Gary Barlow's other lead singles?
Forever Love (Open Road)
Stronger (Twelve Months, Eleven Days)
Sing (Sing)
Let Me Go (Since I Saw You Last)
Elita (Music Played by Humans)
I'd go for:
1. Let Me Go
2. Elita (though this could easily go up to first with time!)
3. Sing
4. Forever Love
5. Stronger
1. Elita
2. Let Me Go
3. Sing (the solo version is superior)
4. Forever Love
5. Stronger
01 Forever Love
02 Let me go
03 Sing
04 Elita
05 Stronger
Why stronger was picked as lead single from 12 months 11 days is a mystery when the album had so so many better tracks, one of many bad bad decisions in relation to 12 months 11 days.
1 Let Me Go.
2 Forever Love.
3 Stronger.
4 Sing.
5 Elita.
With open road and since I saw you last he def picked the right lead singles, although love wont wait was the wrong choice of follow up single but it went number 1 so maybe I'm wrong. 12 months 11 days just was wrong, lie to me should have been the lead single and I think if it was it eould have gave the best opportunity to save the album which I still think deserved so much more as it's a very good album.
Love Won't Wait was a success for Gary but he was banking on US success with it which failed.
It was the weakest Open Road single.
1 Forever Love
2 Let Me Go
3 Elita
4 Sing
5 Stronger
I think Love Won’t Wait was a good second single and importantly it was upbeat. I actually think the singles from Open Road now considering it were all the “right” order.
With Twelve Months, I’m not sure there was a lead single. Maybe he could have gone with something like Wondering? Stronger to me felt too much like an attempt to be George Michael.
Stronger was just a weak song, yesterdays girl or lie to me should have been single 1 and 2
